    You can put sleeves in those cylinder walls for each cylinder.

    Important to note forged piston run larger piston to wall than cast pistons.

    Usually in those if it has its own separate oil fill plug for that alone. Whatever type of oil that maybe to.

    I use amsoil in everything I have. Works great..yes a little spendy, but peace of mind is worth it to me..as well as supporting local stuff. They're 3.5 hrs from my house lol.

      I run a little extra oil (Shell synthetic) in my fuel tank...plugs are cheap if they foul🤙

    I'd add in some coolant as in antifreeze into the radiator on that snowmobile engine to if it's liquid cooled engine set up design for sure though. That's most likely your issues.& Problems with it then.& Possibly the carb.,or carbs still to acting up on it as well to.

    🔥right on man that 700 u putting in sled looks mint. Sweet looking domes and head. Me and buddy’s always joked with that oil name, first u get a miss then a Tik finish with a boom lol. I hear ya tho, prices are just getting out of control.. I’ve been running shell synthetic for years in all my saws, bikes, and sleds, never let me down🔥👊🔥🏍🔨⚙️

    I'd check the piston con rod bearings out for play in them. They could be worn out to. Along with your piston oil rings to.

    Well that sucks,makes 2 of us with sleds that need top ends,my 95 440 sks with 3500 on it also needs a top end which sucks but that's part of the life keeping old sleds alive. Thanks for the awesome video cant wait for the next one

    Piston rod pins where you put in those retainer clips in at to connect the pistons to the con rods. Witch should be called con rod pins I believe.

    When that comes apart, it may be a good idea to verify cylinder wall to piston clearance is in spec, if the crank bearings are fine 😉

  • @johnhicks735
    @johnhicks735 Год назад +1

    Replace those bearings their to loose inside of the pins area.

  • @johnhicks735
    @johnhicks735 Год назад

    Check the price on redline.,or some Valvoline TWC-3 2 cycle motor oil.& Add some zinc powder additives into it at home instead it's way cheaper that way on you to man. If it's A 2 stroke engine gasoline fuel mixture setup. The crank case uses different oil though.

    Klotz, maxima , amsoil, any name brand 2 stroke oil is salty no matter where you live Garrett, I tried this subzero made by VP racing and it's not bad oil I bought 5 gallons of it $175 plus shipping but great deal $35 a gallon

  • @darrylmarbut47
    @darrylmarbut47 Год назад +1

    Forged pistons need waay more clearance, probably not as bad as it seems..

    Those bearings could just be shot out inside causing your eating up your oil rings up inside of that engine.

    The big blocks do have a bit of rattle at idle.. however I'm sure you know what is normal and what is to much. My 05 700 has a bit at idle and it has 2,000 original miles on it. Give it a bit of throttle and it goes away.

    • @AKproXR
      @AKproXR  Год назад

      Yes more often then not they rattle a bit at idle.
      My 800 does for sure, but this is considerably worse.

    Hey bud, just wondering, what's needed to convert a stock 99 style non-ves 700 into one of these 770's? Based on what you were saying, it sounds like it was just the standard 700 crank and case, with 800 pistons and cylinders right? Cause you said it's basically an 800 but with a 700 stroke?
    Does it require programming the CDI for the timing? Or could you theoretically just slap a set of 800 cylinders and pistons on it and have essentially a 770?

  • @coryernewein
    @coryernewein Год назад

    After sleeving those cylinders how would you sleeve them? Or would you get them coated?

  • @larrywarner9314
    @larrywarner9314 Год назад

    Id send them to Millennium technology with the size pistons your going to use and have them replated to spec and you'll be good

    Yo i see you have a PSI head there, i am currently in search of 86mm pistons for psi pistons in my 925 PSI Genisus and im trying to find out who can make me a couple pistons, weisco requires 12 pistons minimum and i dont wanna fork out 2500 bucks and sell the other 10 on ebay, sounds like to much work.. you or anyone know where i can find a couple?

  • @bryan7866
    @bryan7866 Год назад

    I am by no expert, but in my HTG 1200 it has 84mm pistons in it, piston to wall clearance is just like that like identical I don't have any motor issues with it .. your other 800s arent like that? i kind of thought it was more clearance due to larger piston .. more volume expanding so it needs more clearance
