Just curious, but would you have preferred Tannu Tuva remain its own country, or do you prefer it being a part of Russia? Also, is this type of music on the radio?
@UCJdAXRYmryDm2mLgHPhzo1g between 1921 and 1944, the Tuvan Peoples Republic, better known as Tannu Tuva, was an independent country. It acted as a satellite state of the Soviet Union, in a similar manner to some of the Eastern European countries at the time. However, it was still recognized as sovereign by Mongolia, Russia, and a few other countries
@@Ppman What do you mean its own country? You mean being part of China, like Uyghurs in Xinjiang? It's either Russia or China. @@Ppman Its independence relied on the USSR heavily, much like Mongolia. Tuva joined USSR only closer to the end of WW2. Much like Mongolia, the only other contestant for Tuva was China. I know it, you may not explain to me :) I do the explaining here. With the USSR gone, Mongolian socialist regime collapsed. Mongolian independence heavily relies on the United States instead now.

The octave range is incredible, and the double (even triple) sound of the throat singing is hypnotic. His breath control has to be perfect, and of long, LONG duration. Maybe when I was younger I'd have been able to learn this, but now that I have COPD, I kinda doubt it. My highest respects to this singer. It was an honor to hear you.
@@Kawaiisikkusu Most throatsingers are capable of singing about one entire octave of overtone notes for every note in undertone, in the sygyt style. This man's range is much larger then just one octave it's beyond anything i thought anatomically possible. The whistling sound actually comes from air traveling through small holes created by curling his tongue against the roof of his mouth. By being able to have such a colossal range he must have near super human control of this technique.
@@artnucicncus1005 I'm just here from the Britain got talent video. They clearly don't appreciate the amount of talent from throat singers. Now that you explain, I see how difficult it is to even replicate this feat

Would be actually cool if they're going to be part of China. Communist China is a very progressive country, capitalist Russia has little perspective and money to sustain tuvans. Tuvans joined USSR when it was separate independent communist state.
@@КонстантинМатвеев-д8ц again, read my other comment. Tannu Tuva was a sovereign state between 1921 and 1944
@@Ppman Its independence relied on the USSR heavily, much like Mongolia.

U alive still buckeroo?
Wait?! It's triple?! Which part? i can't hear it because my cheap hedphone, please.
@@artnucicncus1005 i see, i can't really hear it

overtone singing, I learnt it by learning the pig squeal.
It's called "Sygyt", a Tuvan overtone singing technique.
If you can whistle with tongue (not with lips), you can do that sound by adding throat singing.
