I really appreciate the grumps man. I’m going through a hard time during this ‘world tour’. I lost my step mom. And my dads health is right behind her. Michael Beaver yeah I don’t know. Auctions only seems like one of the most boring house rules. I liked the strategy that came with auctioning something when the other player has NO money, getting the property for cheap. I feel like just making it 4 player was enough to make it fun. Maybe playing with 4 real people, or doing a different house rule next time.
Same, normally in monopoly if you don't buy it goes to auction. So in auctions only I'd figure if you skipped, you were skipping your part in the auction. Dropping out before it begins so to speak.
We do love Monopoly. It's one of the games you guys play that calms me the most and helps me feel like maybe one day the Backstreet Boys will quit touring so much.

It seems weird to me that "Auctions only" allows for skipping, since it highly encourages people to just keep skipping and amassing money until someone gives in and starts auctioning
Michael Beaver yeah I don’t know. Auctions only seems like one of the most boring house rules. I liked the strategy that came with auctioning something when the other player has NO money, getting the property for cheap. I feel like just making it 4 player was enough to make it fun.
Maybe playing with 4 real people, or doing a different house rule next time.

Same, normally in monopoly if you don't buy it goes to auction. So in auctions only I'd figure if you skipped, you were skipping your part in the auction. Dropping out before it begins so to speak.
Can you not do that in regular monopoly? Just not buy properties?
DeathnoteBB No, you must either purchase the property or auction it. Although you may be able to skip it in some weird house rules or Child Monopoly.
We do love Monopoly. It's one of the games you guys play that calms me the most and helps me feel like maybe one day the Backstreet Boys will quit touring so much.
