My son wants to learn to place kick, so I'm watching a few videos. I was interested to see that Leigh hits the ball with the side of his foot, not the front of his foot. We've not tried that approach, yet. Very good and informative video, thank you!
The first thing that Leigh talks about is strength and mobility, he likes to get his body ready by foam rolling. He foam rolls each body to get the blood flowing to the muscles and loosens them up for practise. He rolls them for about 20 to 30 seconds on each. He also looks to stretch the flexing muscle. Contracting the glute and not looking to arch back and sending pelvis down and getting that full stretch. I’m 11 and Leigh is my favourite player it would be a dream come true to get his singed boots thank you for your time.
The first thing Leigh says before practicing, to stretch and gain mobility. Foam rolling each muscle, to promote blood flow, and warm up.
Firstly Leigh uses a foam roller to get the blood moving around the muscles so they are warm and this will enhance performance and limit injury. Secondly Leigh stretches out his hipphlexes so they are loose when he starts to strike the ball and will prevent injury. Thirdly Leigh aligns his ball with the seam inline with the target, this is his personal preference as he wants the ball to come in a fraction when struck. The last process of the preparation is to get your foot placement correct, Leigh mentions that this helps him get as close to the ball to stoke the ball with full impact for greatest distance. can you please tell me any more information about me to training at home and I did long distance training and I am really practicing my fly half and my kicking any skills and things feel free to text me back and can you please send me lots of videos on RUclips and I will watch them and make sure my eyes are open and thinking about long distance and then I will be a good fly half
