I wonder if they've considered adding Boerboel to the mix. It might not be as big, but it would definitely bring some genetic diversity to the breed wouldn't it? They're also not really afraid of much as far as I'm aware (except for thunder probably).

Have this dog's hips x-rayed. He is lame with limited range of motion on the rear right hip at 0:58 Would like to see more health info on these videos that highlight "extreme and exotic" breeders. Orthopedic issues, bone cancer and life expectancy would be a good start when breeding for extreme size. Some breeders on this channel are very responsible; these Bully and "extreme/exotic" breeders as they call themselves never say a single word about health testing - and theyre the ones who need it the most.

@@SAJ.GAMING there's nothing wrong with huge dogs, small dogs are much more unnatural than large ones (think wolves, coyotes, African wild dogs, all medium-large) it's the way that a lot of large dog breeders breed for excess skin, dont pay attention to hips and spines, ect. Oh great more breed mythology... Anyone who has working dogs knows bigger is far from better.
Besides folklore and breed mythology what type of health testing or working test were done in this "program?"
Any vids that show any type of working ability or athletic ability to prove this is not a Low Energy dog with poor structure and movement? Which is typical of most of the dogs used to create this mixed breed.
Taking big breeds with a laundry list of health problems due to breeding them for size and bragging about making them even bigger is actually below novice stuff.
This dog has nothing to do with any ancient dogs. It a large dog created from current mastiff stock.

That's also what jumped out at me. He keeps invoking the idea that this breed is from 3200 - 5000 BC There's no way of knowing exactly what dogs used in war were like, we have some sparse pieces of art with dogs on it, that’s far from precise knowledge. He’s looking at old paintings and sculptures and making his dog feel prestigious rather than looking at what’s the closest representative (mastiffs and the like).
It’s also a big red flag to me when these large dog breeders obsess over size, like living vicariously throughout their dogs. They needed
"really thick torso, massive square head", to fight humans in war and have to take on lions & bears. Really? They need to get to be 250lbs to take on an animal that’s 450lbs, or 1000lbs? How do wolves, jackles, hounds take down prey, huge size or pack hunting?
I’m not a dog expert by any stretch, tell me if I’m wrong but my BS meter is going off the charts with this guy.

I love this channel, but please stop promoting unhealthy dogs and bad breeders like this. This dog is oversize, unhealthy and can't even walk properly. The breeder is just breeding for exaggerations and status. This dog will never be able to have a healthy life because of this. Also, it will never be able to be used for protection work.

    • @NPC.6

This is true. Zero agility or stamina. Dogs like this can only sit chained next to a stationary object to protect it. Any real work would result in orthopedic injuries and the dog choking on it's own skin and phlegm.

$5000 for a stud fee, $5450 for a puppy that is nothing but a Neo x English mastiff mongrel with not a single word of health testing.
Lots of dogs, all but two are 0-2 years old, not one older than 4 years old.
You can order a puppy by putting a deposit straight on the website.
    Six litters in six months.
Absolutely disgraceful practice, should be illegal.

This dog is young and already looks like it has hip problems. The key to having a big dog is breeding for the right reasons. Those being health, conformation and temperament. I am a Presa Canario owner and my boy is amazing however due to poor breeding (didn't know when bought him) he was diagnosed with elbow and hip dysplasia and now his 3 years it's starting to show. We keep him lean and work him little by little and hydro. Breeding for an overweight dog is wrong. Why people do this as us owners whom love the bigger breeds also feel their pain.

It's not like there is a specimen floating around to work off of! lol If all breeders lacked vision and courage to create new or resurrect old breeds, we'd have 5 types of pure breeds period running around the world.

It is fine to want to create a new dog breed. However all this about ancient dog breeds mentioned in the video are purely speculative and circumstantial. This is a bandog. And it is heavily influenced by two breeds. English Mastiff and Neo. Probably it is a cross only by these two and no other breed. Finding healthy lines in these breeds is very hard. And they are lines of smaller animals. Not huge. A healthy cross between them is almost impossible. And health is not just about hips and elbows, especially when you have English Mastiff blood in. And unlike what is said on the video there is money involved. Charging 5k stud fee proves that. So at least let's try to be honest and accurate. In conclusion, thumbs up for trying to create a new breed, no problem for me if it falls in the bandog category, thumbs down for not trying to produce healthy animals. As for money involved, that is the policy of each breeder but at least let's be honest.

One litter of mixed breed puppies doesn’t make a new breed. He simply has a cross breed or hybrid dog. You only have achieved a new breed when those dogs can mate with each other and produce litters that exhibit the breed characteristics. For example, breeding two Yorkiepoos doesn’t produce a Litter of Yorkiepoos.
