This is probably the 10th tutorial on the mission editor I have watched since downloading DCS a few months ago. While their are some good ones, many are too advanced. The teacher assumes we know more than I actually do. Take for instance the ground track of your Red tank. When it got to the last waypoint, the teacher would say "and then just link the last point with a command to restart". Well...how? You actually took the time to explain how. Little things like that are just invaluable. That's worth a like and sub and a lot more of your videos to watch!
Excellent tutorial. I just started DCS and I wanted quick and dirty overview of the mission editor. This was perfect. It gave me enough info to avoid confusion and also to build on as I get more comfortable with the sim. Many thanks!
That middle mouse click to get the distance and angle is the most useful thing ever.. 🤣 been doing missions for a while but never knew that shortcut..thanks a whole lot and keep up the good work.. love the tutorial series.. regards from Malaysia
Thanks for taking the time to make this. You don't assume too much prior knowledge and this is good for someone very new to the mission editor and DCS itself. Your work is appreciated
OMG bto, thanks so much for this. I've been watching videos for 3 days trying to get a handle on the basics. Yours got way more granular with the details. I'm about to go try to make a functional mission now. Thanks again
This is spot ON!! NICE one Fox, and with a NW accent as well, even if it IS a Manchester one (and not a Scouse!! 😉). Thanks 👍 < There's ANOTHER thumbs-up as well as the one above!!
Wonderful! Again you're exactly the kind of mission designer I was aiming at. Another one I'm currently over half way through, hoping to be out before the end of today
Thank you, I have learned so many things in a short time. Tomorrow morning I will put what I have learned into practice and can hardly wait for the next chapter. Thanks for this clear explanation. 😀
I know this is over a year old, but hoping you can get back to me regarding this. not sure if this is a bug or not or if I'm just doing something wrong. I'm trying to get some cinematic shots for a video I'm making. The shot is I want an AI F18 to pass half way over the carrier deck and than break off. with me in another F18 for the side angle shot of him breaking off. I set three way points, one right where the break is to happen, one to the left, and another one further down. all way points are set to flyover, even when i have it selected for turning point, either or, the AI breaks before even getting to the carrier and want's to land despite I've given no instruction in the way points in the mission editor to do so. Again this a bug or just something I'm doing wrong?
thanks for the tutorial : do you have a tutorial on allegiance changes on map, i find that not working for me. eg changing airport allegiance from blue to red. Thanks
I cannot wait for the day when triggers benefit from AI. If it takes all this for only e trigger. I cannot imagine building triggers and tasks for many objects in a much larger mission. This kind of IF-THEN-ELSE approach is way to computer programmer centric.
This great. Used it to make a mission for an A4 last year. But has something changed? I switched my A4 to an f-18c(lot 20) (I own the f-18 module) and selected 'player', but when I 'Fly' the mission I don't spawn in my plane, I'm floating above the red base I set up as a target. Does anyone know what is wrong?
You need to own the module(s) in question in order to be able to fly them as player. I should have made this more clear at some point, at least now you know
Hi guys, I’m struggling to create a simple take off, add wayPoints and land, no enemies just a straightforward take off fly a couple of waypoints and land ! Sounds simple hey , I’ve watched all the videos and created waypoints and made the last waypoint a landing but for some reason my HUD doesn’t direct me to the waypoints in fact sometimes the distance increases etc Any help for an old obviously stupid guy would be fantastic. 1) For example I add the plane to the base 2) find a place on the map - left click and add turning point 3) add another WP 4) add a landing WP But it’s just not working for some reason HELP PLEASE.

Wow - finally tutorials that DO NOT ASSUME basic knowledge of DCS. Thank you sooooooooooo much. Best on youtube period!!!

Just starting DCS. Excellent video on a less than intuitive mission editor! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Super job explaining all that in a clear and concise manner. Great help in setting up a server mission. Thanks much.
Amazing Work dear Creator! Keep them coming!
Thanx about time someone laid it out so my simple brain could get it
Awesome tutorial, with many of those little pitfalls mentioned, that most gloss over because they seem too basic. Well done

Brilliant. Exactly what I needed to get started. Thank you!

Very well done, great intro for beginners.
Totally awesome! Thank you for Sharing! 💯✴
Great job on explaining how this works
perfect tutorial. It helped me learn all i wanted to know(how to put three raptors in a dogfight against 10 f-15 eagles)
Great! May I ask, who won the fight?
@@DCSDigitalCombatSimulator I haven't tried with ten yet, but I could defeat four alone so I very much think so.
Did you have to change any further settings on your aircraft for WP3 after you added the enemy units?

30:25 was on point considering current situation.
Amazing tutorial thanks buddy
I highly appreciate this!

It's possible you set up some sort of delay for the plane (for example late activation, or a set time)
@@DCSDigitalCombatSimulator Thanks so much Fox 3 . I'll look into that!
Every time I try and load the map, all I get is a blank blue screen and cannot make the map appear, how do I fix this?
Same issue happened to me. It's something with the new update. Playing in multi threaded mode fixed it for me.
For me on the skill tab whilst making a plane, it doesn’t have player?
You need to own the module(s) in question in order to be able to fly them as player. I should have made this more clear at some point, at least now you know
Thanks .Well explained.
You are welcome - much appreciated, thanks for spending a few moments on the feedback
This is brilliant thanks

Hi there - I'll do my best - Please can you tell me which plane are you trying to use?
@@DCSDigitalCombatSimulator hi thanks for replying the plane is mig 29s
Just what I need thanks
Thanks for this.
