I love how unique every character's EP sounds so far. Elle's EP gives me rock band vibe. Zhu Yuan's EP reminds me of 90s Mandopop songs and this one sounds like its from C-Drama.
So the implication here seems to be that Qingyi subconsciously remembers her past life, or lives. I don’t know it it’s a theme in Chinese mythology, but it at least fits with the idea from her previous animation, where she’s showed to be youthful, but has an old soul.
it probably will never be explain WHY or HOW she was turned into an android, all she has left are pieces of it and habits from the past lives. She could be a simulation of someone's character from the past, it's a sci-fi trope often used; if a clone has an exact copy of your memory, how can we judge which one is the real you, is it even relevant at that point? Or more philosophically, if we keep replacing parts of a broken boat, is that boat still the boat it was? Where do we draw the line?

My thoughts on this are we dont know enough about the Hollows. Hollows create space fissures since we know a black hole can create a strong enough gravitational pull to effect the passage of time for those caught in it I am wondering if the hollows big and powerful enough oh like the Zero Hollow for example, might have time issues. So right now at this point I dont think we know enough one way or another to pin anything down.

I really like how the music is so calm despite the intense battling there is. It shows how Qingly has two different sides. A traditional one, and a fighter.
If she's from THAT far back, from the era of horse and buggy and all that... I want to know how she ended up in her android body. That's a hell of a big technological jump. Did they somehow duplicate her from a long-gone person, or did they somehow transfer her soul into her new body? I got so many questions. Also absolutely pulling for her.
Just a shot in the dark guess/theory. Qingyi might have been one of the first ethereals, and they somehow extracted her mind/soul from it and put her in an android body. They show the area with the old architecture has ethereals around, perhaps it was one of the worlds first hollows.

Or if, when they were making the synthetic body, they had to simulate a personality for it, and while that personality was generating, they somehow accidentally pulled her soul from the far side of death, and it merged with that AI personality to basically revive her in a new form. She'd be very singular in that she might be the only human soul in a synthetic body, entirely by accident.

She kind of reminds me of Frieren and Maomao at the same time, not just looks wise, but also personality wise. She feels a bit like a fusion out of the two and a blend of their personalities. In any case this whole MV is gorgeous and very beautiful.
I didn't think I could love and appreciate Qingyi even more than I already did, and then they just hit me with something so beautiful and vulnerable and gave even more insight into how long-lived and tragic her life is with regards to having to leave so much behind 😞 Man I LOVE Qingyi, and I'm just entirely happier with my own decision to stick with her even when some people were quick to hop to the next characters being snown off.
Man, Qingyi never struck me as a character that would’ve had this kind of story explored in-game, but after this and her Demo trailer, it makes me think she’s going to recall some of her past to Wise/Belle, and maybe even lament the fact people she’s known have come and gone with age. Also, I’m curious if the trailer is implying that the person who built her intended for Qingyi to be a replica of herself to carry on once she passed away. I’m not entirely sure, but it does make me wonder if that means she also harbors the memories of whoever built her, which the trailer could also be implying. All that to say, I’m looking forward to pulling for her. I mainly want to get her so Zhu Yuan has her partner from the Chapter 2 Interlude to fight with, lol. But I’m anticipating her Agent Story is going to hurt quite a bit-

She was augmented at a very young age, and despite looking like a woman in her early 30s, I believe she is much older. It’s been a while since I’ve watched the series so I’ve probably a bit wrong.
Those MVs are masterpieces of combined art styles, musical vision and non verbal storytelling. This one, along with Zhu Yuan’s, hold a special place in my heart. Endeavour to find her own past, between countless possibilities and multitudes of historical eras, hidden under artificial veil - is such a great example of character writing. This MV made me even more emotionally invested in Qingyi, and I already was, as huge Frieren and Mao Mao(could Qingyi dance in the end of the trailer be a reference to Mao Mao dance?..) fan. Now she truly stands out as a unique character
What makes me love this game is that the characters are balanced in powerscaling not like the typical characters in HSR that "oh i can casually destroy a planet type bs" and the main characters of zzz doesn't have a planet destroying nuke inside of them but instead an expert hacker who guides other characters which makes our MC unique compared to other hoyo games.
I NEED MORE LORE! She’s quickly shot up to be my favorite character and have been using this video as my only way to keep that desire for backstory at bay at this point!
Qingyi’s story reminds me of the Exos in Destiny. Humans getting their minds imported into artificial bodies and having their minds wiped. The number at the end of a Exos name are the amount of times that they have been reset and their minds wiped. (Cayde-6, Ada-1 and Banshee-44) Guardian’s are resurrected beings, chosen by a white prism-like drone called Ghost’s who were made by a giant sphere known as the Traveler, are gifted with powers but also their memories of their past life erased. But for Exo’s they remember their name and number. Unless you go searching for your past like Anastasia Bray or Micah-10. Luckily for Qingyi, she still has vivid memories of her past whereas Guardian Exos only remember their name and number.

I don't think that is actually Zhu Yuan, she probably wouldn't have been alive during ancient China times. I think it could be a close friend that had a similar appearance to Zhu Yuan. The story could be related to reincarnation which is a popular theme in Chinese mythology.

I don't think there's an emotion that could properly convey how Qingyi must feel, experiencing these detached fragmented memories of her past lives and yet never being able to own them. I hope there's a comforting resolution for Qingyi in her agent story. This would make me happy. Edit : I decided to breakdown the MV and give you my interpretation of what exactly happened. This MV is likely the story of Qingyi's past and possibly first life. 0:40 She is surrounded by ethereals and begins seeing flashbacks of herself being surrounded by assassins. We then switch to scenes of her being prepared for an arranged marriage with a suitor 1:10. According to the following screens this arrangement goes terribly wrong and she attempts to flee from her suitor 1:20. While she's fleeing in her carriage her green ribbon becomes detached and flies off and she is in shock, suggesting to me that her the ribbon has great significance and she is particularly fond of it. Just as the ribbon has left her, an image appears of Qingyi in her lavish gown, hinting the lifestyle she previously had has also now left her and she has become a fugitive, having broke oath of a marriage arrangement. Her outfit is the same in the carriage 1:27 as it is when she is back-to-back with Zhu Yuan's previous incarnation 1:01 which tells us that she was hunted down by her suitor, as he likely hired assassins to murder her. 1:33 She places her hand on the mirror and it shatters, her reflection flashing to her former self preparing to flee, the words to the song "A fleeting glimpse of tranquility, take off the mask, self-scrutiny, hard not to feel uneasy, this world only knows cruelty" directly referencing Qingyi fleeing and her facade in the face of an arranged marriage and presumably evil suitor. 1:43 "In the next(world/life), I'll seek loyalty," the following frames Qingyi dances in her gown and says "thinking of you, in your collar blue(Zhu Yuan), countless moonlit nights, awaiting a friend so true" her green ribbon falls back into her hands. This to me represents 2 things, Qingyi has seen multiple reincarnations and has been awaiting her chance to be reunited with Zhu Yuan's reincarnation because their souls are deeply intertwined, and it also suggests that Zhu Yuan's ancestor was the one who gave her the ribbon she adores so much and there was possibly much more than a friendship between the two. Zhu Yuan's ancestor made the ultimate sacrifice in trying to help Qingyi escape. It could have been an incredibly devoted friendship or love. Perhaps the main reason Qingyi fled, as with most victims of arranged marriages whom flee, is because the love is fake and forced and they want to get away and be with the person they truly love no matter the cost. 2:20 In the next part her former incarnation hands off the "ribbon of self-consciousness" to her current self. This green ribbon could be symbolic for the sentience/soul she continues to carry, even though she is now an android. 2:32 She wakes up after being reset/repaired and Zhu Yuan is there in her "collar blue(pubsec uniform that literally has a blue collar)," giving her the green ribbon she loves and adores so much(which makes me believe even more that she gave it to Qingyi in her previous incarnation too). She kind of reminds me of Frieren and Maomao at the same time, not just looks wise, but also personality wise. She feels a bit like a fusion out of the two and a blend of their personalities. In any case this whole MV is gorgeous and very beautiful.

I didn't think I could love and appreciate Qingyi even more than I already did, and then they just hit me with something so beautiful and vulnerable and gave even more insight into how long-lived and tragic her life is with regards to having to leave so much behind 😞
Man I LOVE Qingyi, and I'm just entirely happier with my own decision to stick with her even when some people were quick to hop to the next characters being snown off.
Man, Qingyi never struck me as a character that would’ve had this kind of story explored in-game, but after this and her Demo trailer, it makes me think she’s going to recall some of her past to Wise/Belle, and maybe even lament the fact people she’s known have come and gone with age.
Also, I’m curious if the trailer is implying that the person who built her intended for Qingyi to be a replica of herself to carry on once she passed away. I’m not entirely sure, but it does make me wonder if that means she also harbors the memories of whoever built her, which the trailer could also be implying.
All that to say, I’m looking forward to pulling for her. I mainly want to get her so Zhu Yuan has her partner from the Chapter 2 Interlude to fight with, lol. But I’m anticipating her Agent Story is going to hurt quite a bit-

Those MVs are masterpieces of combined art styles, musical vision and non verbal storytelling. This one, along with Zhu Yuan’s, hold a special place in my heart.
Endeavour to find her own past, between countless possibilities and multitudes of historical eras, hidden under artificial veil - is such a great example of character writing.
This MV made me even more emotionally invested in Qingyi, and I already was, as huge Frieren and Mao Mao(could Qingyi dance in the end of the trailer be a reference to Mao Mao dance?..) fan. Now she truly stands out as a unique character
Ellen is still the best to me for the song and story but all these have been amazingly done and wonderful experiences
What makes me love this game is that the characters are balanced in powerscaling not like the typical characters in HSR that "oh i can casually destroy a planet type bs" and the main characters of zzz doesn't have a planet destroying nuke inside of them but instead an expert hacker who guides other characters which makes our MC unique compared to other hoyo games.

Qingyi’s story reminds me of the Exos in Destiny. Humans getting their minds imported into artificial bodies and having their minds wiped.
The number at the end of a Exos name are the amount of times that they have been reset and their minds wiped. (Cayde-6, Ada-1 and Banshee-44)
Guardian’s are resurrected beings, chosen by a white prism-like drone called Ghost’s who were made by a giant sphere known as the Traveler, are gifted with powers but also their memories of their past life erased. But for Exo’s they remember their name and number. Unless you go searching for your past like Anastasia Bray or Micah-10.
Luckily for Qingyi, she still has vivid memories of her past whereas Guardian Exos only remember their name and number.

What's really cool about this is how it shows Zhu yuan in some of the flashback scenes, to show that they are good friends.
I don't think that is actually Zhu Yuan, she probably wouldn't have been alive during ancient China times. I think it could be a close friend that had a similar appearance to Zhu Yuan. The story could be related to reincarnation which is a popular theme in Chinese mythology.

I don't think there's an emotion that could properly convey how Qingyi must feel, experiencing these detached fragmented memories of her past lives and yet never being able to own them. I hope there's a comforting resolution for Qingyi in her agent story. This would make me happy.
Edit : I decided to breakdown the MV and give you my interpretation of what exactly happened.
This MV is likely the story of Qingyi's past and possibly first life. 0:40 She is surrounded by ethereals and begins seeing flashbacks of herself being surrounded by assassins. We then switch to scenes of her being prepared for an arranged marriage with a suitor 1:10. According to the following screens this arrangement goes terribly wrong and she attempts to flee from her suitor 1:20.
While she's fleeing in her carriage her green ribbon becomes detached and flies off and she is in shock, suggesting to me that her the ribbon has great significance and she is particularly fond of it. Just as the ribbon has left her, an image appears of Qingyi in her lavish gown, hinting the lifestyle she previously had has also now left her and she has become a fugitive, having broke oath of a marriage arrangement. Her outfit is the same in the carriage 1:27 as it is when she is back-to-back with Zhu Yuan's previous incarnation 1:01 which tells us that she was hunted down by her suitor, as he likely hired assassins to murder her.
1:33 She places her hand on the mirror and it shatters, her reflection flashing to her former self preparing to flee, the words to the song "A fleeting glimpse of tranquility, take off the mask, self-scrutiny, hard not to feel uneasy, this world only knows cruelty" directly referencing Qingyi fleeing and her facade in the face of an arranged marriage and presumably evil suitor.
1:43 "In the next(world/life), I'll seek loyalty," the following frames Qingyi dances in her gown and says "thinking of you, in your collar blue(Zhu Yuan), countless moonlit nights, awaiting a friend so true" her green ribbon falls back into her hands. This to me represents 2 things, Qingyi has seen multiple reincarnations and has been awaiting her chance to be reunited with Zhu Yuan's reincarnation because their souls are deeply intertwined, and it also suggests that Zhu Yuan's ancestor was the one who gave her the ribbon she adores so much and there was possibly much more than a friendship between the two. Zhu Yuan's ancestor made the ultimate sacrifice in trying to help Qingyi escape. It could have been an incredibly devoted friendship or love.
Perhaps the main reason Qingyi fled, as with most victims of arranged marriages whom flee, is because the love is fake and forced and they want to get away and be with the person they truly love no matter the cost. 2:20 In the next part her former incarnation hands off the "ribbon of self-consciousness" to her current self. This green ribbon could be symbolic for the sentience/soul she continues to carry, even though she is now an android. 2:32 She wakes up after being reset/repaired and Zhu Yuan is there in her "collar blue(pubsec uniform that literally has a blue collar)," giving her the green ribbon she loves and adores so much(which makes me believe even more that she gave it to Qingyi in her previous incarnation too). This may literally be the only thing that ties Qingyi to her previous life seeing as the ribbon is the only constant throughout the entire MV. She grasps it lovingly, suggesting again that it was Zhu Yuan's ancestor who originally gave Qingyi the ribbon and that they had a very deep bond.
Perhaps there was an exchange of ribbons because all incarnations of Zhu Yuan can be seen wearing a red ribbon and Qingyi wearing a green ribbon. An exchange of ribbons, or a bindings, in certain cultures can be observed symbolically as the binding of two souls. An example of this is Handfasting.
Anyways I am deeply touched by this MV, it tells a very tragic and beautiful story and I hope my analysis spurs curiosity and imagination amongst the community. I'm also very impressed by Hoyo's creativity.
