Can someone please answer this? After I've added the icons (shortcuts) for all of my apps, can I delete the original apps to have the icons be the only thing on display? If I can't, what can I do to hide the original apps so that the only thing visible is the (shortcut) icons and new wallpaper?

You need to adjust that by going to shortcuts. After that when you are creating an icon make sure to also set up voiceover and turn it off!!

Id i’m correct you can press on them and select “remove app” they wont be deleted, just hidden

Where do you keep your original apps?? If I delete an app, the shortcut doesn’t work.
You do not have to delete them. Just long press and tap “Remove from homescreen”
