The crankshaft controls the stroke length, not the connecting rod.
So KTM has increased the crankshaft throw (crankshaft radius) to increase the displacement from 373 cc to 399 cc. Furthermore, connecting rod length does have a huge effect on the engine; "longer" rods decrease sideloading of the piston on the cylinder walls, decreasing friction at high rpm's, and also increasing piston dwell time at TDC, both of which are helpful for high-revving bike engines to make more power.

I would recommend you the Duke 390 bro it's definitely worth every penny it's features,brake system and acceleration everything is top notch also it has various modes for different situations

If you want to do you can, but use different premium synthetic engine oil so that engine is safe.

Sir I own R15M and nowadays I don't know what happened to the quickshifter sometimes if I upshift it automatically downshifts and it really is risky if it happens while overtaking or ghats. I told service center guys those guys said now we fixed it but it's still the same...can you tell what must be the problem??

Depends. If you are coming from a 25bhp motorcycle, you can probably handle this(this can take time). But if you are coming from 10-15bhp motorcycle or it's your first motorcycle, don't consider this.

how about the difference between the characters of duke 390 and GT650. i know they both belong to a totally different class of bikes, but now they are almost nearby in prices and also the power figures are pretty similar. But what kind of characters do those bikes have.
