@@3djoes I am super excited to see Operation figures get made and can't wait to get them, it is super super awesome you got all those minty carded action figures, back in 1983 Christmas was when I got the G.I.Joe HQ and my first G.I.Joes, Thunder and Slugger Doc Gun Ho and many others,
I loved everything about this video, Carson, but that family wall was the big thing for me. I felt honored just viewing that. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hopefully you’ve seen Kevin’s work on the ExoSquad archive! He’s doing good work. I would LOVE for someone (Playmates?) to design new / modern figures that are less cartoon design, more real world… but the same characters. I’d snap those up!
@@3djoes This video definitely reignited my enthusiasm for Exosquad. I never bought the toys but I remember enjoying the animated series a lot. As a beginner interested in collecting this toyline, are there significant price differences in sealed variations like box flap and window box? I notice black and green eyes versions exist for Jumptroops Second Lieutenant Colleen O'Reilly. Is that viewed as a big deal like Zarana's head sculpt? Even though I haven't watched an Exosquad episode in years, I am subscribed to Secret Galaxy so I can confirm your guess at 41:15. On July 21st, 2022, Dan Larson uploaded a 21 minute video titled 'Lawsuits, War & Robotech: The Secret History of Exosquad'. According to him, "Re:Play! was a Playmates company used to re-issue old toys." The Action Figure Archive even refers to Re:Play! as the sister company to Playmates Toys.
It is amazing how much money and time one can have being single. You have your love and passion. And the good thing is your collection won’t leave you and demand half or more.
Brother, I've been divorced twice now :-( It's terrible, but both were unavoidable in my view. I'm incredibly grateful for the support of the community and this endless passion for collecting and archiving, it's carried me through relationships, jobs, and more.
The atmosphere created by those five monitors playing simultaneously is just glorious. It reminds me of Adrian Veidt's Karnak base or Rex Mundi a.k.a. the man who isn't a man's lair in Malibu Comics' Ultraverse. If you aren't familiar with the latter character, he appeared frequently in Hardcase & The Solution each written by James D. Hudnall. Do you own a copy of Akira: Art of Wall box set released by Kodansha Comics last year? I'm sort of a casual Katsuhiro Otomo fan. I don't own any merchandise but I was immediately on board the concept of nearly 75 feet of illustrations stretched across 3 accordion-bound volumes. I've also got to mention how spectacular those two Valiant statues look at 5:43. I've read every Rai and Bloodshot appearance released since July 19th, 1991 so I'm mighty tempted to buy those someday. It's so disappointing that action figures for Icespike, Mothergod, Malev Emperor, Ax, Proteus, Rampage, etc. still don't exist in 2023.
Love your taste in Valiant and Akira! Valiant in the early 1990s was impeccable, the shared continuity and constantly evolving characters was thrilling. Rai statue is DOPE! Based on the VEI version of course. Bloodshot based on the David Aja cover for 2012’s debut.
Hey Carson! Awesome tour. Can I ask where you got the parts bins for your resin casts? I was looking for larger drawers and haven’t found any? Also highly recommend MOC masters cases. They are the only cases that are up protective
There’s a great 23 minute video On Justice Cury’s channel titled ‘Protective Cases for Heman, Gi Joe, Star Wars MOC Masters CLAM Shells - UV Protection - Toys’. It was uploaded on July 8th, 2021 and Motu Joe explains the advantages of an exclusive bottom bow buster for example. Pixel Dan did a similar 15 minute video titled ‘MOC Masters New Action Figure Protective Cases Review | MOTU Origins, Vintage, Funko More’. It’s dated June 16th, 2021 before they were publicly available.
How much would you want for that carded Spirit OR Destro thats lifting??. I'd really love to buy that SPIRIT OR Destro off ya to add to my carded Joe Collection. if you'd let either go for the right price let me know I get paid Friday and am paypal ready. I AM in Maryland so shipping shouldn't be too much.
If you like Exo-Squad, you should watch the original Mobile Suit Gundam and it's various spinoffs. It deals with a lot of similar themes. In particular, the 08th MS Team is very military.
@@3djoes I used to have over 1000 star wars figures as well as tones of vehicles and bases but with my 4 girls I had to get rid of them, but I am keeping my G.I.Joes and the cool thing I finally came across a few of my old action figures and they sure where not in the shape I left them since it was 100 of my best ones that I gave away

I’ve always liked the motto given to an obscure 1988 Decepticon named Windsweeper. He was part of the Triggercons sub-group and the tech spec stated “Uninvited guests soon become smoldering wrecks.” 💥
I was impressed when IDW Publishing solicitations revealed that Revolutionaries #1 will include an "exclusive bound-in, Sgt. Savage mini-comic reprinting a lost tale written and drawn by the late, great JOE KUBERT himself!". Am I correct that it was omitted from the 2 trade paperbacks?
@@3djoes I collect Adventure Team (thanks to all the work on your site) and they're displayed in a glass cabinet and my little guy points at them and says "GI Joe." I plan on getting him a couple figures and gear from Cotswold next Christmas now that he's getting old enough.
Happy for you, but i take issue with the way you mentioned flippers a few times in this series like they are not worthy of similar deals as the "true collectors". You also talked about how you sold big parts of your collection multiple times for various family issues. Dude, you are a flipper. You sold merch that you bought for a cheaper price for a profit. Just because you do something else for your primary living doesn't make you special. Maybe flippers just make "big boy" decisions, as you call them, everyday. You got this deal because you gave back to the community with 3d joes and thats cool, not because flippers didn't deserve it.
a great trip to my childhood. Thank you Carson. :)
Awesome video. 1982-85 was when I was really into these figures. It was awesome to see all the cardbacks again. Thank you for your videos. Take care.

Very nice setup and collection.
Epic collection!! I think it would be cool to see your modern collection as well.
Shipwreck & Recondo my first as a kid, awesome looking MOC's
Nice! Dial-Tone was my first MOC. You never forget your first!
Thank you for the tour of the HQ! I can't believe how many of those carded figures you picked up were still unpunched after 40 years!
Crazy, right?! Every time I saw Joes as a kid they were hanging on pegs.

Why not have both strait arm and swivel?

Also cool in Sgt. Savage is that they gave the ARAH painter, Hector Garrido a file card!
