Oh John you messed this up.. I know it's been more than 30 years, but I still can't get over that wonderful couple. I'm glad to find out she liked some pictures of her and john from back in the day on Instagram.. It's sweet. None of his other girlfriends/wives come even close to Renee Simonsen.
I think I'm still kind of obsessed with this woman, don't know why... probably because in the 80's I had, as everybody, a very normal, flat, unexciting life filled with school, friends, music and their life seemed so special to me. But this is common to all celebrities, so... what's so special in her? She's still so incredibly beautiful and seems so "settled". I wish her autobiography could come also in English because I still "need" to know everything about her, even if she's not a model anymore... And it's funny how, now, only the old fans like us seem to know who Renée is and how much she meant to us. My daughter obviously didn't hear about her nor the following supermodels of some years after Renée's time (like Cindy, Tatiana, Christy, Linda, Naomi, Elle and all those beautiful ladies...), you know, she knows Gigi and Bella Hadid, but I still think that something broke and no other women like those, Renée in primis, with *that* faces, with *that* personality, showed up in the modeling business. It's obviously full of beautiful women, but they are all the same, interchangeable. PS Fortunately Renée is still a big name in Denmark.
@@yggdrasild755 no, I'm Italian, but i follow Renée on Instagram and last Friday there was this shocking post of her about Hugo. She didn't write anymore since then. I can barely imagine how much life turned suddenly unbearable now for her and all the family...

They n ever talk about the "dark side" of professional modelling. I'm sure THAT was the real reason why she left "...people touching me all the time (not really referring to the make-up/clothing people...)...there's probably a "casting couch" for models too...and when some one looks like Rene...I'm sure she got propositioned a lot by "Harvey Weinsteirn's" of the modelling world..."...we have tousands of beautiful girls coming today...how are YOU different? Do YOU truly want this job??...etc.".
for anyone wondering how she became basically an overnight star, its because she won the 2nd 'face of the 80's' competition, which today is called 'Ford Model Supermodel of the world'
Coincidently she left modeling in 1989 when John Taylor broke up with her. She probably was so depressed that left her modeling to "heal and find herself". She survived. Her husband ( shorter than her ugh) has NOTHING ON JOHN TAYLOR. But she stuck to a musician. I'm sure she still remembers John...
She left modelling before and went to live in Israel in a kibutz for a few months, and at that time they were still together. By the time she left Israel she had decided to stop modelling and go back to studying but didn't know where. Then they decided to end their relationship which probably made it easier for her to go back to her country.
