Facebook Ads Not Converting? Here's How to Fix it

  • Getting lots of clicks on your ads but very few conversions? If your Facebook ads aren't converting it's usually for one of a few reasons. The good news is when you know how to troubleshoot and pinpoint the problem, it's always possible to fix it.
    In this video I'll show you what to do when your Facebook ads don't convert. You'll learn how to find out why your ads aren't leading to conversions despite getting a lot of clicks. Then you'll learn what to do once you find the reason for your Facebook ads not converting.

    Fantastic advice thanks Andrew.
    One little tip with pop up button on landing page is to AVOID using automated popups or exit popups. The Facebook algorithm may shut down your account if you do, as it takes control away from the user. We also avoid or minimise the words "you", "your", "other" and "others" on both ad and landing page.
    We also avoid the normal WP template with header and footer menus that facilitate lead bleed.
    Whether it makes any difference, we add an escape to the home page, a link to privacy page and now the text "This website is not a part of Facebook or Facebook Inc. Additionally this site is NOT endorsed by Facebook in any way. FACEBOOK is a trademark of FACEBOOK Inc."

    Now that I think of it. Why would anyone just want to drive traffic but not conversions? Shouldn't the goal of any ad campaign be to convert?
    I personally wouldn't want to spend money just to get traffic for the sake of it. Am I missing something here?

    The problem is that there are 10000000 if advertisers advertising for the same product within the same audience and facebook consume all thir budget for the same total number of conversion

    Lots of clicks but no conversion 😂😂 nowadays I WISH this is my problem. Suddenly and out of the blue, my ads are only showing to ghosts. No likes, no post saves, no single indication that my ads are appearing to people; just the impressions and amount spend go up. I think, I think my whole business manager is infected by some issue.

    I’m not sure what happened. It could be something I did when downloading meta pixel thru my Shopify. I’m getting ready, and clicks. But my conversions always say 0… what is the reasoning?

    What if I have a campaign that leads to a landing page that isn't mine because it's an affiliate link? Do the conversion ads also work without the pixel and all the tracking?

    @Andrew Hubbard, I don't see an option for conversions on my ad objective. I see "website visitors, automatic, get calls, get messages, get page likes, and get more leads." Do you know if FB changed their goals or what? Selling a book by the way.

      Facebook occasionally updates its ad objectives. If "Conversions" isn't visible, try "Website Visitors" and optimize for purchases. Alternatively, select "Get More Leads" and tailor it to book sales. Experiment with different objectives to drive book purchases effectively. Facebook's changes might prioritize specific goals, so adapting your strategy is key for successful book sales.

    If I have an e-commerce site with a storytelling approach (trustelements along the way before the CTA shows up). Should I still use an additional cta at the average fold? I always think to myself that I'm giving people the opportunity to click too early.

    Requested access to a Facebook page through Facebook business manager, but the owner of the page didn't see the notification so that he can grant me the access. What might be the problem? Or is there somewhere he should check the request? Or is there another way to get access to a page so that I can run a campaign with the page?

      They should see it under “requests” in their business manager

      The owner should check their Page Roles section within the Facebook Page settings or Business Manager's Requests section for pending access requests. Additionally, direct communication with the owner to re-send the access request might help. An alternative method could involve the owner adding you directly through Page settings as an admin or advertiser to enable running campaigns on the page.

      You might benefit from reviewing your target market, then figure out which platform your target market is more active on, then decide based on that.

      Absolutely not. No ads will make people buy from you. They will send you traffic. You need to be able to then convert that traffic to sales. You can improve the ads in certain ways that will help with conversion rates, but ads alone can never guarantee sales.
