Wow awesome.. every auto bloggers just explained the basic features and all but this is something different and you have explained the whole features which is really helpful for a viewer who is looking for buying a new car.. Nice one bro keep going and expecting the same kind of videos in future.
A fun car to drive. Sports mode with paddle shifters stole the show. Suspension has also improved when compared to pre-facelift. I hope Kia has improved upon it’s passive safety. The car is pricey for a sub 4 meter crossover, but really has all the gizmos to make it most desirable in the segment.
Your review is really good practical review unlike the usual ones we see. Good job brother. I understand it is your own vehicle and that is why you are able to do such a detailed review. Can you please try to do such a review for Mahindra 3XO AX5 variant? It is similarly priced to the Sonet HTX. Maybe take an extensive test drive and later add the voice over on your test drive video?
@@ajayprabhakarkavungal Thanks for the quick response. I see that you are in Karnataka. How's the turbo perform in hilly areas. Will it hold good in steep climbing such as Ooty and such? Any idea?
Hi, 3xo is the better option Considering -Value for money -Useful features -Sitting 3 in the back -better suspension Sonet becomes a better option, when looks of vehicle is more important for you.
Nice review. I have been doing a lot of video research on this exact model as I'm serious about buying it soon & came across your video by chance. My final 2 choices that I've zeroed in on are this one or the i20 N Line N8 DCT model which basically has the exact same engine but with a hatchback body & slightly higher mileage claim.
Hi, Nothing to worry about. Compared to other small capacity engines, this G1.0 Turbo generates higher power and torque hence the the heat output is directly proportional. It's designed to work in those thermal conditions. Anyway, if you are observing abnormal heating please check with service team.
I just booked HTX DCT yesterday and watched this review today. Great video to get full details. I finally decided this over Venue NLine DCT N6 (considering the on road price). Also compared N8. Hope my decision is fine here. I mostly will be driving in city with some highway driving very less. Please share your comments.
I also waited and initially booked for Kylaq on first day but considering no review and feedback available, I am cancelling this booking. Please comment on this as well. Thanks in advance ..
Hi, Now, HTX DCT is good value for money. Venue n line feels similar to driving to a regular venue or sonet but with a bit different exhaust note. Sonet interior design, instrument cluster and ventilated seats are definitely better than in the venue. Venue n line, best feature for me were it's steering wheel, unique exterior colors, cornering lights and black interior. In highways the 1.0 tgdi with DCT is great. In city also it gives good gear box performance but predictability or control over speed in stop and go traffic is less. Design and looks are subjective, still interior and exterior of Sonet looks better.
Hi, On paper Kylaq seems equipped with features. But, the Kylaq variant Signature+ which is equivalent to HTX DCT on pricing seems under-featured. The Torque converter unit in kylaq with 1.0 L engine will be slower and "feel the shift" compared to DCT 1.0L due to shifting technology. Apart from that sonet will have leatherette ventilated seats, rear door sun blind curtains, Paddle shifters, sunroof etc. Even though, the Kylaq has longer wheel base, bootspace in dimensions where Sonet has better width and ground clearance. And skoda being a German brand and making in India, I think still they have the indicator knob on left and wiper on right with cruise control on indicator control knob. Usually Skoda brings good quality interiors with long life. You can also expect a twin from VW soon. I think Sonet is better choice still
Yes, this is the lowest variant available in Petrol automatic. In August there was a feature update, adding Alloy wheels, rear wash wiper, and wireless charging
Hi..i am planning to buy the exact same model..how is the kia oem sound system performance? Also, the 8 inch touch screen..does it feel adequate? Also, how is thr rear parking camera quality? Hope you reply soon.
Hi, It's a good choice. The OEM sound system is good and has good details in sound. Yes, 8" screen is good and feels large enough for maps etc. The camera has decent quality with guidelines. Now it's even better, Now it has got Rear wash wipers Alloy wheels Wireless charger
@@ajayprabhakarkavungal thanks a lot..this was really helpful. I was initially confused between htx and gtx but feel that htx is much more vfm. What all accessories you took from kia? I could not find any video on that.
Thanks for the detailed Explanation. It was really helpful for me. Just one thing i use mostly in City conditions and i have read that DCT is not suitable for City and i am trying to use Manual for now. What's your take on that?
I am driving the same model since a few days now and i think it's an issue only for people who manhandle the gear box rather than treating it the way it's supposed to be. Most people think that Automatic means they don't have to touch the gear lever until they stop at their destination, which is wrong. In case of long stops such as at the signals, you need to have your car shifted back to Neutral or Parking. Else it's just trying to move forward in Drive Gear while you have applied the brakes which will eventually cause trouble. Compare the same scenario with a manual gearbox. If you drive a manual car, you either put your car in Neutral or you have the Clutch engaged while you let go off the accelerator at any stop. You don't accelerate your car and step on the brakes at the same time.
Hi, DCT gear box heats up in stop and go traffic due to the "clutch slip" happening. If you are using manual mode in the DCT gear box, it's not going to reduce the chance of gearbox heating. The ideal solution is to shift to neutral mode, if you stay stopped for more than 10 seconds.
Hi, what are the best average speeds for highest mileage for this variant? This is very detailed and informative for me as an owner of the same car. Thanks for this video!
This is an interesting topic. Even though present-day cars give close-to-reality fuel consumption/mileage information, the range goes for a toss. The onboard computer calculates the range with parameters like fuel left in the tank, current fuel consumption rate, and driving pattern: throttle input, idle time, speed of the vehicle, engine rpm, etc. Initially, the computer will predict the range with the amount of fuel in the tank multiplied by the claimed mileage. Later it keeps on deducting "the covered distance + possible deviation from the claimed mileage due to current mileage, driving pattern, etc." The difference between the range and covered distance(125-75=50) is due to the difference between claimed mileage and the real mileage with some prediction.
HTX variant is good. The Mileage and NVH of 3 cylinder 1.0 L Turbo is poor compared to other 4 cylinders in this category. The overall vehicle has decent NVH. Mileage in Bangalore City in stop and traffic is around 10. On highways it is around 14-17.
Yes, You are right. 3 in the back is not that comfortable, and there is no head restraint for the center passenger. DCT is okay for city traffic, but it heats up due to clutch slip in partial clutch engagement(Soln: either leave the brake pedal completely so the vehicle crawls or bring it to full stop and wait for some space available infront.)

Any issues with DCT heating in slow moving/bumper to bumper traffic?

@@ajayprabhakarkavungal Thanks for the quick response. I see that you are in Karnataka. How's the turbo perform in hilly areas. Will it hold good in steep climbing such as Ooty and such? Any idea?
Definitely, not at all a problem. To get consistent performance, rpms should be above 1500 or even you can use the sports mode.
