Adding some minimal flair to the Silverado! Air Design fender flares p/n

- Watch me scratch my back and get some GM flares installed on the truck! These are made for the 5th gen Silverados from 2019. They may even fit on the refreshed models since the wheel well cutouts did not change shape. I installed this on a 2022 LTD Silverado.
These flares are GM factory part #19419893 made by Air Design. The lowest price including shipping that I was able to find was from American Trucks. Link here:

Great video, thanks!
You should pull the paper off from the bottom edge first while pushing up then pull and remove the top tape while pushing in... Decent video though
It’s good to see someone else do this first, thanks 👍
Did you use a grease pen on all 4 fenders? I don’t really want to do that but I’ll do whatever I need to.
I did. It comes right off and you want to make sure you get them lined up because once they're on, they're on! No do overs!
These are great, they look fantastic, installation can be fastidious, HOWEVER, they are pricey, @$535 from Air Design, they are some of the most expensive fender flares around...
Wow! They've gone up in price since I installed them. But they do look good in my opinion...
@@phil_hazzy Everything has gone up in price in the last yr...and yes, they look fantastic, and if it weren't for the look I was going for, I'd pass them by...
I agree, for that price they should clip or bolt on. 3M tape will eat up your paint and can eventually loosen.
Are these still holding up? Considering getting some more Silverado
Yup! Not loose and no discoloration and I'm closing in on 36,000 miles. Highly recommend.
When i ordered mine it was missing the paper work and the glue and the adhesive promoter. Called customer service and they told me the glue is not needed on the new version but they would send me the adhesive promoter through the mail ended it up buying that at a car paint store.
They emailed me a pdf file of the updated instructions and it did not have the glue on it the manual . I got mine a year ago so don't see how yours came with the glue ?
Anyways dont see why chevy dint add this, as gmc lowest end truck has them installed by default.
These are the only ones that look factory as the others are more for the RST silverado.
I also put Chemical Guys Natural Shine on them along the bed trim and mirror plastic housing makes them really stand out
I can’t find this flair on eBay or Amazon ? Were i buy it?? Thank you!

@@ultra78721 Thank you i am on 🇨🇦 Canada !
I put mine in with no sealant cause I didn't want it to run everywhere, 2 years later no issues.
Phil. Seeing a lot of negative comments regarding tape and adhesive flares. I ordered what you have but am now considering sending them back. Don’t want to have them falling off. Your thoughts?
Hey Scott! These are the same ones the new ZR2 has installed from the factory and put on the same way. I use a pressure washer every time I wash it and have no hesitations! Follow the instructions and they'll last the life of the truck!
@@phil_hazzy But you have no way of knowing that, Phil.
@@roberthenry9319 treat them like any other part of the truck and they will last. Being in the manufacturing industry, I can say they will last.
Hey Phil. How. Ugh wheel coverage would you say these give? And how have they held up? Are they getting loose anywhere?
They've been on for 4 months. I use a pressure washer every time I wash the truck and they are rock solid! These are also the same flares the new ZR2 uses and they're installed the same way. I have no doubt they're going to hold up for the life of the truck. Let me know what your first question was because it looks like autocorrect may have changed what you asked.
@@phil_hazzy thanks Phil, the first question was about how much wheel coverage do these give. Looks like about half inch?
@@randywills8976 about that much. Maybe a little more but I got them to keep the fender edge from getting all beat up. I'm running a stock wheel/tire setup and don't plan on changing.
Looks nice
