- These are my predictions for Great Britain's 2024 Olympic Team! Unfortunately, both of the Gadirova twins are likely going to be out of the running due to injuries, which really hurts GBR's campaign for a team medal. However, it does make the Olympic team selection more interesting, and there are many gymnasts fighting for a spot on this team. Abigail Martin could also be in with a chance she’s good on vault beam and floor and team gb already has a very strong line up of bars workers so her absence in a good bars score could easily be replaced by someone else
Britain doesn't have a strong line up for bars. This is bars quad and more people can reach 14 (equivalent to 13.2 - 13.3 on floor). Strong bars workers can reach close to 14.5 or higher.
Abigail Martin doesn't have a 14 DTY. Ruby at least has one. Both of them are not ideal floor workers, but GB really lack one after the absence of Gadirova twins.
@@cocoroni1031 alice and ruby have amanars so they can also take Abigail’s or gmfs double twist yurchenko and they will result in the scores of 3 very good double twisting yurchenko or better due to them having +0.8 for the amanar difficulty and gmf can do bars ondine and Alice they are all solid and for the most part consistent
@@Ryan.harvey123 Alice, Ondine and Ruby will do DTY. Ondine's DTY is very good. Alice, Ruby's Amanars don't seem consistent enough. Abigail Martin is trailing Ruby Evans for the FX & VT spot, but Ruby is leading due to the 14 DTY.

I always call bluff on vault upgrades but I’d be suprised if atleast Evans doesn’t try her Amanar because she’s training them on hard vault and posted one recently that looked good. Kinsella has done hers on competition setting hard landing for probably 2 months consistently before the elbow so I’m hoping she still plans to do it for Paris because even though she worked it all last year and then didn’t go for it at worlds, it looked much more prepared this year than it did last year
I agree that Becky is the better choice because of her medaling potential, but i don't think GB will send her. Lately, GB has valued all arounders over specialists and I think Amelie will be chosen over Becky. We'll have to see though!
Amelie doesn't have medal potential but Becky has despite inconsistency. GMF will probably take the 3rd AA role over Amelie.
@@cocoroni1031 I agree Becky has more medal potential, and bringing her would be the smarter choice, but I don't think Great Britain will choose to bring her. Just based off of their previous decision making for teams.
@@kiraalldredge48 I mean they did send her off to European's and I'm hoping if Becky can prove her value there, then she should be worth it. If you referencing Becky being left off the Tokyo team, it did half make sense in the end, as there was only 4 spots, making it heavily all around centered, especially if as we saw someone had an off day, they would not have a score to count in the FX/VT, department at the time. Don't think this is Becky's fault as they should have told her about this before back in 2018/2019 and try had her qualify through the World Cup Series. With 5 spots again, I think it's more likely she can make it as they can allow for at least one specialist and GB needs a strong UB worker.

GMF just posted 54.8 in all around at Antalya and she could possible upgrade to a double twisting yurchenko which would increase her overall start score by .8, also the brits have two amanars that look good and could possibly be used, Amelie is a great alternate as she could be used on all 4 events, don’t count GB out from podium tho as they could perform really well and surprise like they did in Tokyo.
To medal they need to be at their peak at the Olympics with teams like France Brazil china Japan n Italy n usa
They had both Gadirovas competing in Tokyo. Without them they wouldn't have medaled, and they'll only be able to medal in Tokyo if other front-running teams like Brazil, China, and France make major mistakes and give them an opening.
Italy looks much stronger, but they are also inconsistent.

I think it’s really open for silver and bronze. And tho the Gadirovas clearly are missed this is a solid and strong team imo.

Ondine is by far GB’s best chance for a final lol, defo not becky. Would hate to see becky make the team, she always falls and can’t be relied on.
Ondine doesn't have individual medal potential. Becky has but she's a bit inconsistent.

Is there another gymnast who can sub for Georgia-Mae on floor? AFAIK, they don’t really any other floor specialists other than Jess (and probably Jen, too)
There is no need. Georgia-Mae at least can score similar if not higher on floor than GB's floor specialists (Ruby, Abi)...

Becky Downie will go to third Olympic appearance in Paris 2024 for this Summer and Olympic Games.
Becky has been pretty inconsistent, but I’m still rooting for her. I hope she is training to peak at just the right time

Yes. It's been clear pretty much from the beginning of her injury that Jess wouldn't be able to be in Paris, and nothing about her recovery progress has changed that. Jen posted something a few weeks ago about having to miss all of the qulifying meets due to injury, and so saying she wouldn't be able to qualify to Paris.

I was thinking that, however, GMF scored 13.3 in quals and finals of Antalya, Ruby can score 13-13.5 ish and Alice can score 13.6+ so it does make sense for them three to do floor!
She is not consistent enough right now.

I’m not too crazy about the others making it, but this is just my prediction. Anyone can jump out at me at anytime. I really do hope Amelie makes it to Paris and I really want Becky to make the UB final since she knows how to compete it and does it so well. I’m also cheering for Alice to compete in the floor final since she has so much potential there! I’m really excited to see what happens with this team in Paris.
Most undeserving but placed in the team because of woke politics.
