I had non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma everywhere, diagnosed 1997, after treatments went 22 years with no cancer, in 2021 one small spot appeared on my wrist but after radiation the cancer is gone. I am 73 years old play basketball once a week in the senior Olympics, recently finished our basement, in the last few weeks been sawing some downed trees and splitting and stacking the wood.

"Have fun and create things". That's where I'm at in my woodworking. I was diagnosed with early stages of cancer, 9/21. Completed my treatment and now my numbers are in the good range. Hang in there!. May GOD Bless You and Your Family, Chip. Prayers.🙏🙏🙏

That’s great to hear your numbers are doing well! I hope they continue to be like that. I haven’t had the motivation lately to get out and create some fun things as my rounds of chemo have been rough. Things are good these days though.

All caught up now. Hopefully you will be able to get to wood turning as a distraction but I'm sure the want to spend time with the family is there even more now.

Yeah biggest issue right now is the motivation and lack of energy. I hope towards the end of this week ill get some energy back and we can get out as a family and do something outside.

    Oh wow!
30yrs ago they would have been holding their hands up.
300yrs ago they wouldn’t have known a thing.
Today they have scans of potential hot spots; that’s good!
Your kidneys filtering out the gunk is good! It means your body is fighting.
Good luck and everyone is with you.

    Hang in there. Stay positive.
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in July. Had surgery at the end of August. I sell my things on Etsy. Of course, I had to put my shop in vacation mode for a while, prior to the surgery and about 3 weeks after. It's been slow since I re-opened, which has been a double-edged sword. On one hand, I'm not swamped trying to get orders out. On the other hand, the motivation is a little low because it's so slow. Hopefully it will pick up for the holiday season.
As for my cancer, the doctor thinks they got it all. They did take some bladder tissue adjacent to the prostate and it came back positive. My next test will be for my PSA, in December. As long as it's below .2, I'm good. Theoretically, without a prostate, it should be zero. Anything above that is cause for concern. In the meantime, I am as incontinent as can be. I wear a Depends 24/7, which is not uncomfortable or anything, but the feeling of leaking is not natural and it can be frustrating at times. They say it can last 3-18 months. Hopefully I'll be on the lower end of that scale. It's only been 2 months so far.
While I may not always have the motivation to be in my shop all the time, I still think about new products I could make and I do my research on Etsy. I'll buy some wood and rough cut items in preparation for a sale, which helps when I do get a sale. Regardless of how much I do, I use my woodworking to keep my mind focused on something other than the uncertainty of my cancer, at the moment. The incontinence has a way of reminding me of that uncertainty, so it can be a struggle. But the woodworking definitely helps, even if I'm not always working in my shop.
I'll be watching your more recent videos to see how you're progressing. I've been a subscriber for a while but I hadn't seen any videos from you for a while. Now I know. Hang in there.

      Thank you for watching!
Im hoping your numbers in december come back lower than 2, that would be great news! I can only imagine what you are going through with your post surgery and treatments. So i hope everything will be better for you.
Its good to hear that you are able to get back into the shop. I also lack the motivation and energy most days to do much of anything. But the fact that you are able to get out and make anything in the shop to sell is a bit of inspiration to myself. I realized i havent even switched on the lathe since June. I really need to get out and turn something because like you woodworking always helps take my mind of things and just lets me relax.
Ive got some plans for more videos, its also just the motivation and time to do it along with just not having the energy most days while getting treatments.
