The ddj-800 is one of the best controllers ever made. I upgraded from my ddj-sr2 to the 800 and loved that controller. I then upgraded to the ddj-1000 and now Rane One, but still the ddj-800 is still one of my favorite dj controllers ever! I still own it and it's in excellent condition. Thinking about selling it though lol.
I still hv more love for the sr2. More compact, the fx section was more controllable and it would would without the adapter. I sold mine and use an 800 now with vdj, but I miss the sr2
@@ministerkareemc I don't know. Haven't really put much thought into that. It's just sitting in a closet inside a hard Odyssey case right now in mint condition.
As DJ's opening new kit is like being 5 at Christmas opening your favourite new toy right! I have the 800's predecessor. The DDJ RR. not as pretty but has served me well and has plenty of functionality. Enjoy your new kit 😊
You're going to love that controller! It's a fantastic kit! I had one for a couple of weeks, before I decided to return it for a DDJ 1000. The ONLY reason I returned it for a DDJ 1000, was because I decided I wanted a 4 channel controller (and not a 2 channel controller). But the DDJ 800 is a great device!!!!
Brian, what's your take to the Pioneer DJ rebrand/renaming to AlphaTheta? You think this is a smart move? How will it impact the Legacy of Products in the future?
Congrats on the new DJ Equipment! You forgot to tell the audience that to use it for Virtual DJ, you either have the full license for VDJ Pro or have a monthly subscription. I believe a home license for the DDJ-800 wont cut it because it's a Pro Controller and will be used for business. RecordBox license is included in the purchase of DDJ-800 though!
I started DJing at about 31years old (collecting my music library I still use today at 22). I had 2 analog turntables, and mixer with a unusually tight fader (!). Vinyl records, (the tail end of the boom) the year was 2007. My teaching lessons were looking at DJ scenes from Tunnel DVD's (no internet). I can tell you from experience, TIMING IS EVERYTHING in mixing (and let's no forget VARIETY). I use a Pioneer DDJ 800 these days and just GO OFF! The computer make doubles at the press of a button. In fact, I don't see NOBODY getting by without one. This controller is GOOD for parties, not so good for TRICKS. The Numark NS7 was great for that, but TOO HEAVY to move.
Love it! Looking forward to some review videos. I have the flx 10, but find it’s a little too big and may be looking to downsize, although I do like the stems built into the board
Brian, can you do a video on how to hook up rear fill wireless, and cordless speakers in a room setup using maui 5 go speakers. Do they make a wireless transmitter to pair it with main speakers in the front of the room. Thanks
You did the exact same thing I did. I used the scroll knob and selected a song and then pushed down on it as if that's the load. I believe that's the way Numark mixers work. On the DDJ800, there's a load on Deck 1 button to the left of the knob, and a load on Deck2 button on the right of the knob. I'm also thinking of not putting my laptop in that spot, maybe move it over to the corner. One more peice of advice. Get a microphone with an on/off button, and leave the mixer mic switch to ON. Why? Because that mic switch is ridiculously close to the Deck selection switch. I was playing a song on Deck1, and went to turn the mic on and accidently switched the deck to Aux or whatever the other option is. It killed the song. DOH! luckily it was just a middle school dance. Now I have a wired mic with an on/off switch. works much better.
If the DDJ 800 doesn't work for you, you can try the Roland DJ 707m. It is designed for the mobile dj. It is much smaller and has balanced xlr as well as 4 mic inputs. Measures about 19 inches. The 800 was too big for me. I also have the SR2 which is perfect size.
Got the older brother. Gonna grab this, with flight case💯.. PLEASE don't cut towards yourself 🙏🏽💯 or I dislike your vid😂❤.. frfr you almost got yourself.. Keep Jammin Bro💯.. -Dj Eboo
Hey just got the DDJ800 great controller, has anyone used it to live stream using VDJ and OBS? I can't seem to get any sound out in OBS? Everything else works and sounds real good 👍

How much are you selling it for?

Proud DDJ-800 owner here. You made a good choice with that controller. Congrats on finding one.
You have to love that opening and setting up some nice shiny new gear feeling,
Hope it's exactly what you needed.
Our cats love when Amazon Driver delivers my stuff.. they got new toys, boxes lol 😂!!

Virtual DJ is very versatile when it comes down to hardware

Congratulations Brian on your new controller. She’s a beauty.
I have had my 800 for 2 years and it is my go-to controller.....
I’m looking at this controller to buy soon, glad VDJ is mapped great as plug n play
Brian, what's your take to the Pioneer DJ rebrand/renaming to AlphaTheta? You think this is a smart move? How will it impact the Legacy of Products in the future?
I dunno, it's the same stuff, same engineers, etc. It's just a name

Love that unit.
You will be very happy with the 800
love my ddj 800. It does the job for any event. Ill be keeping mine for a long time
I’m still debating to get it or not I started on the ddj 200

I feel like for you this is the perfect bet. Its just like your DJM 250 or 450 in the center of 2 mini cdjs. Perfect footprint with XLR outs

Sir Brian question this controller only work with virtual DJ videos not the song only?

There are knobs up in the corners that let you load the songs on what ever deck you want it on..

It was a strong consideration. Access to service & parts was a concern
Nice controller, hate the wall wart though. Congratulations.
Love my ddj 800 .Was a bit 😮at first but now ❤

I wish they made this for serato
What is a good DJ pool for music videos? I use Tidal and there is no videos.
Promo Only, then Xtendamix for pay per download
Hey, Tidal does have videos!

Anyone know how to when you press a hot cue on the ddj 800, the marker on the platter display to start at 12 o’clock on the ddj 800? (using vdj)
Sweet!

nice cat
Embargo……😮
You better off downloading Serato DJ better than Virtual DJ
VDJ for music video is very stable
He cant use Serato with the DDJ800. Also I have used both VDJ & Serato and I would say either is better then one or the other. Both have pros & cons
