- I give you my thoughts on why so many high end Mopars such as Hellcats, Trackhawks, Scatpacks, and Trackhawks are being targeted by thieves and what we can do about it. Hellcats are 5 times more likely to get stolen than any normal car. What do you feel like is the cause of so many of these amazing cars being stolen?
Here is the full video from TK's Garage on how they steal hellcats and scatpacks:

I have a Challenger Hellcat. I keep it locked in my garage most of the time. All this theft has almost ruined the fun of having the car. It makes me mad that you can't own anything nice anymore. Get a job and work for it. Sorry, didn't mean to get on a soap box. Great video as always. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thank you Michael
No, you are correct.
Agreed. I shouldn't have to lock my car away because some low life wants to do donuts, burnouts, and run from the police just to make a video to post on social media.
I agree it’s totally bullshit.Unfortunately there is a lot of people who think if they want something it’s ok to take it. I have a 2018 Camaro SS and live in an apartment complex. I cover it and have a camera in my apartment window. I never had a problem yet knock on wood.
Hey mike check out the audi rs7 its basically a hellcat in a tuxedo!
Once i heard hellcat and track hawks in a hip hop song i knew it's was over😂🤣🚗💨
Hot lead is always a good way to keep people from stealing cars!
Hot lead and a boot
Maybe a steel-jawed bear trap on the floorboards!
Agree, but that’s illegal in many states and every state if the car isn’t at your house/you’re not in it. You would be surprised how many people think they can just shoot someone dead that’s just standing on their lawn. You can’t. Careful with the rhetoric.
I wish we could. Trust me.
Unless you in yo car 24/7 that’s not the answer
Had my scat stolen TWICE! Needless to say I don’t stay at that apartment complex anymore. luckily I had a gps tracking system installed by the dealership, was able to find it a day or two later, and for me i had good insurance that paid for all the damages!
wow what a nightmare :o!
I know sometimes those GPS systems are easy to find conjunction with other countermeasures I wasn't sure a good ideal place to put one it's one of the few things I have not done yet besides a burglar alarm. Seriously considering the two in tandem in conjunction with using the club and ignition kill switch and a battery cutoff. Use the combination to really ramp up anytime necessary for a would-be thief to do something. What app should I had also thought of is a burglar alarms that is not radiofrequency controlled but rather he controlled by a separate key inside the interior of the vehicle, basically not necessarily immediately going off by normal action opening closing door but you got to use key to deactivate it. I assume such done on a old-school Corvette C3, one that did not have obviously have a trunk but had a key in the back as if there was one and that was how they armed or disarmed their burglar alarm.
What insurance you have?

Points well taken. There's always gonna be thieves. Keep it insured and hope for the best. Don't be ruled by fear.
Your video was great and definitely hit home for me. My trackhawk was towed out of the Garden Inn in Dallas by a stolen TRX. I was parked under a light in front of the entrance. Security alarms went off for over a minute and not one person from the hotel came out to check. This was at 9:20pm while people are still coming and going. Cops said that often, hotel staff are in on it. They recovered my trackhawk 4 days later and ONLY because I had GPS and harassed the cops all day and night about the location of my vehicle.
Too bad, when these thieves get caught, that they can't lose some fingers. A thief can't steal anything if they don't have any fingers left to do so. Simple and totally effective. Saves the taxpayers millions, and Mopar owner's sanity. 😁
LOL.
This actually happens in some countries and I think I agree. If someone was risking their fingers or hands being cut off they’d think twice.
Well one thing I’ll agree with the way the Middle East handles thieves lol
If I happen to catch them, they will lose more than fingers
So colonist should loose their fingers?
1.Those cars are easy to steal
2. They have a lot of hype
3. They’re roomy. You can have other knuckleheads ride along.
4. They have big power! Hooligan time!
God that is so accurate it’s scary
And you forget that they are slow lol a hellcat and and goons got the wrong go pro footage from this lil v6

It’s sad that you can only drive this car around and put it back in the garage. You literally can’t leave them any other place without fear of them being stolen.
I’m planning on hiding an AirTag in my scatpack. Thefts aren’t that bad in my area but it’s in mint condition and it’s sad to see peoples dream cars that they worked hard for get stolen by someone
FCA/Dodge/Stellantis released an update to prevent any new keys from being programmed. Since most of the thefts are done by programming new keys, I got the updated installed. My scat is garage kept but I occasionally take it to the mall or a hotel so I do my part to deter theft. Aside from the update, I have a steering wheel lock, brake pedal lock, and a cover to prevent access to neutral release. All of those won’t stop the theft but at least I can say I did my part. Fortunately, the issue is rare and nowhere near the level where I live compared to somewhere like Detroit.
I thought they backtracked on that update? Is it still available?
I do like the Brake lock combined with cut off switch.
I just got the update too I also have a kill switch where can I get that cover for the neutral release I live in Detroit
@@Thomasglodish this guy right here bro ruclips.net/video/5uLMvfRxuNo/видео.html
In my friends apartment complex the hellcat there has a steering wheel lock. It's a really good deterrent
Thanks for the update, this puts a different kind of spin on "Jailbreak Edition" challengers and chargers. I wonder if mopar has considered integrating OnStar?
Whatever they are currently using isn't cutting it.
Well if they are using fob identifiers we should probably have Faraday cases for the keys so they can't be read.
Im slow whats jailbreak

Also, a good way to secure a vehicle that you plan on leaving while you go on vacation or don't plan on driving it for a few days:
Pull fuses for the fuel pump/starter motor. If they can't start it, they can't steal it. It doesn't prevent it from ending up on cinder blocks, but at least they can't drive away in it.
Yep i just bought my scat at a dealership and they show every new owner how to pull the fuse and which one to pull. They pull them out everytime they close and they had some people try and steal them but since they cant start the car they failed.
Some ppl are just pulling the trans release and pushing the car down the block then loading em on trailers
Yeaaaa, I'd say a good number of them are absolutely stolen without needing to turn them on.
You have the push method with another car and tow trucks. All they need to do is get into the car which there are plenty of ways to do that without setting off the stock alarm.
A friend of mine actually does that as well as puts a 'boot' on 1 wheel since he's overseas a lot.
Thieves usually come prepared for that. They bring extra fuses. My best advice is a killswitch/ better alarm etc. shock alarm. Dodge security update. And a Wheel lock. GPS tracking device as well.
Mine stays in the garage, but all this takes the fun out of owning the car
same here car in the garage. getting my concealed carry permit.
This has been on my mind a lot lately too. I keep seeing the brake pedal club/lock. It basically locks the brake pedal so it can’t be depressed to start the car. This used in combo with the neutral pull cover plate. Of course these are only deterrents and if they want it bad enough they will take it. There is a RUclipsr Toro_704 he just about had his car stolen all caught on camera. He touches base on some security measures he has taken. Keep it up Racerx
I have a wheel to pedal.lock....NOW I tested it by moving the steering wheel a bit and it does release the brake just enuff for the car to be started BUTTTTT BUT....the wheel CANNOT be steered and braking is gunna be IMPOSSIBLE so if anyone manages to get in and start it...they will end up jus crashing or hitting something before they can get going which they won't ..they will get frustrated that the car is gunna be very difficult to drive and will bring attention to themselves. Def a great tool!!!
I have the brake lock after my Monte Carlo ss was stolen out my driveway..no issues since I’ve gotten my challenger Sctpac..no sunroof thank god
Coming on too my property would be a huge mistake, won't get far
Caught two guys in my Scat outside of the grocery store mid afternoon. Every cop I spoke with told me to sell it so I did. Made a lot on it. The key hack needs to be addressed by Dodge but they refuse to. Super sad. I love that car.

Wouldn't dare
A easy way to track your car i been seeing is people hiding air tags in and on the car
i plan on doing that when i get my charger
To he honest, man, its a hype beast car. All you hear rappers rap about are Hellcats, Trackhawks and Scat Packs. Not saying the rappers are to blame, but they bring attention to them.
They are… rap music in general inspires people to do dumb shit. Not saying there isn’t some good rap. But there’s a lot of dumb people who think that shit is they way they need to be living.
They are definitely to blame lol.
Thanks for the info! Very valuable, any locks will prevent.
I have a 2021 Charger Scat Pack Widebody with dealer installed lo-jack. I had the RF Hub updated with new software and permanently locked by dealer at no cost. No fobs can be copied now. If you need extra fobs have them made before they permanently lock it. I have 2 fobs that came with the car and I don't lose my keys. I bought my car to have fun and yes I DO! and not to stress about gas or thefts. Great video keep them coming.
I live about 40 minutes outside of Chicago.. one of the reasons I sold my Hellcat was because they steal them all the time . Especially now in the suburbs. Don’t want to deal with it . Plus we have a DA who doesn’t prosecute. I didn’t enjoy the car anymore. Mine was always in a locked garage but tons of car jackings . Not risking my life for a stupid car
fade to black tint customs. Get a igla installed.. 600 bucks for the pin code system. In crown point indianna
I'm outside of Chicago too, in an upper middle class suburb (Bloomingdale)...you probably saw last week that several "teens" carjacked a Hellcat, at gunpoint. Broad daylight in a low-crime area near major shopping. They led the police on a 140 mph chase down the tollway, abandoned the car and were ultimately arrested. It happened in DuPage county, where criminals are not coddled as in Crook County.
I'm planning on buying a Challenger Scat Pack, but will probably strip the bumblebees from it to make it less obvious. Having a CC license might also be an essential for Challenger owners...
I'm in the NW suburbs and traded in my Charger Hellcat last year (for monetary reasons though). A week later I got a call from the dealership saying that it was stolen. It was inside the dealership between other cars that were more valuable and the thieves moved those out of the way just for the Hellcat.
I don’t want to discriminate but unfortunately I think this is just due to the crowd these cars attract

As for my replacement, I will be also adding a neutral pull cover to avoid the thief using the neutral strap and running off with it.

My wife says I'm almost crippled because of my paranoia. I saw a guy walking through the parking garage the other day and he walked from one level to the next. My first thought was "he's looking for cars to steal". It's because of all the thefts and car jackings.
That was a big reason I got rid of my hellcat. Have a 350 GT and zl1 1le both manual both with high caliber tracking systems. Both garage kept. But even with all that I look over my shoulder when I’m out and about. It’s a same.
Looks like my friend done his research when writing his story. In the third chapter this character’s hellcat got stolen and taken to a chop shop.
My Daytona 392 stays in the garage while I am at home. At work, It is parked right outside my window where I have eyes on it at all times.
It’s getting pretty crazy out here, I’m not worried about it to much. My 392 Challenger is a regular body with cloth interior. If I owned a Widebody 392 or a Hellcat I’ll definitely sweat it.

Your going to love that extra power. Should have over 500whp.
I have the same mods on my RWD RT Max has over 400whp.
A hidden toggle switch tied into the ignition system or the fuel pump should be a sufficient barrier as long as it's in a place where you would know to turn the switch but it would not be readily thought of by a thief. Better still if you can have the switch tied into the computer such as the body control module in order to cut off voltage either to the engine or the fuel pump. Obviously a direct mechanical connection can be overcome if discovered but if it's programmed in makes it all the harder..
Although some of these days the way they do this stuff makes me want to put a fence charger on the car with separate battery to power it tied into a burglar alarm and the minute they try to get in without being the legit person zap. Some of these car thieves deserve a bit of Retribution against them...
One of my friends here in North Fort Worth got his Scatpack stolen last week. Crazy!
Hide an AirTag somewhere in the car, under the door plastic trim, maybe somehow under the carpet, I think that’ll be the best way to at least be able to track it after it’s stolen
I have a Trx and a Widebody Challenger so I keep all my fobs in a Faraday Box at home plus I have Faraday Pouch for when I'm at a Restaurant or out anywhere. On to the story.
My Brother owns several dealerships here in Mo. He was targeted a few days ago. A group broke into one of the dealerships, ran sacked it and stole several Mopars while they totaled a few out trying to leave and left those there. It is a shame how these cars are targeted.
Do you know of a fuel cut off device or something that I can install to help with this on my personal car?. I seldom get her out, but when I do I remove a fuse to help with this. I am looking for something discrete like this, without having to pull the fuse everytime. Thanks for any input you might have and I really enjoy your channel.
From what I've seen most of them get stolen for chop shops and or those idiots in sideshows. You often see them destroying these cars wondering why would somebody dare do that to something they worked for. I'm sure a certain percentage of those are stolen .

Not a problem for me I live in bc Canada and park outside everyday. For others I would recommend a neutral cover plate, igla pin code system, compustar t13 which has tilt, shock sensors and sends alerts to your phone when activity is detected. Also has gps tracking.

Just got my 2019 Challenger Scat Pack ( Plum Crazy with Shaker) 7/31/21. Last month, Thieves broke out passenger window, busted up glovebox, and jacked up wiring. I just know she's been in dealership getting fixed / waiting on parts for nearly two months and final bill around $8000.00.
Just had a good customer tell me their Jeep was stolen. I read that thieves are using hand held scanners that frequency pulse at radom based off stolen key fobs and when they hit upon whatever unlocks said car, they car just get in and drive away, especially if it's push button start/stop. So while some of this is smash and grab, alot of it is technology based where the cars just 'disappear'. I actually got a letter from Chrysler a few yrs ago concerning this.
Not a new issue for dodge/ram. Living in Valley Ranch around 2005 and had my dodge truck stolen. Responding officer told me 15 to 20 a night were getting stolen. Mainly for the 20" factory rims which were not all that anyway. Found mine in some guys driveway the next day on cinder blocks. As you said, only higher production vehicles make the top stolen lists.

There is a dealership about 2 miles from me that had a hellcat stolen off the showroom floor after close. So far my 392 Daytona has been safe. Mainly because I leave my truck parked behind it so they can't move it from my driveway. Soon to move it back in the garage daily once I clean that out some.
Thankful I only have a 5.7L Challenger and not a Hellcat or Scatpack🙏🏻😅! Thanks for another helpful video!
still be mindful💪🏾💯i got tha v6 n they still broke into my shit🤦🏾♂️
Almost put in a custom order for a Scat Pack with Shaker package 2 weeks ago until I did my research and learned that Mopars are on top of thieves' crosshair. Changed my mind and went with a 2LT C8 instead. I had an Acura RSX Type S a decade ago and they were targeted by Civic drivers for the K series engine. I definitely do NOT want to own a car only to worry daily about it being stolen. Hard pass on Mopars for me, for now. Great content and video for sure RacerX.
Until severe jail time is introduced this will not end.The other factor is the ease of defeating the key fob issue on all modern cars.
I have a carlock on my challenger scat pack and so far I really like it .
Great content, but I gave a thumbs up just for the gym "Sea of sausage" analogy!! Just great 👍🏽!!! LOL
Had my security update done....I purchased several extra keys from a dealership out of state and had to show proof of ownership of my 19 challenger hellcat redeye nb...also keys have to have factory serial number on keys....these thieves need to be punished severely when caught...that's what bait cars are for....just saying.
Some basic countermeasures also prevent these rash of thefts from occurring. While certainly a professional car thief can get around things like the club it adds to the time involved and strictly when you have that in the mix a thief will probably go on to an easier Target. Especially when you use a series of countermeasures. I have a battery cutoff right at the battery as well as an ignition kill switch hidden inside the car. The club by itself might make it easier to steal in about a minute or two for a professional Thief but with the combined countermeasures I would venture to say that it would take five to ten minutes to figure everything out long enough to get stopped dead in their tracks...
So far I have not implemented use of a car burglar alarm but as I proceed to restore the car I almost certainly will do so as well.
These countermeasures specifically are on a 83 Oldsmobile Cutlass with 73 455 Rocket under the hood..
I have a aftermarket security system because they go in through the back window have someone stand in front then pop the hood then the alarm goes off for 2 seconds until they cut it but with an after-market one they do not know where it's at right away so it goes off longer hopefully long enough for someone to hear it as well as a kill switch because of that black box that they use
The badges draw attention to the car. I rented a 2018 Challenger SRT scat pack 2 weeks ago at the Nashville airport. Other muscle cars were pulling along side revving in the Nashville traffic. I did NOT drive it at night. One helluva car. Muy fuerte !!!
Depends on what area of Nashville you are in. I live way out at the western edge of the metro and its pretty quiet outside of the rare gun crime that occurs(Which can happen anywhere. My small ass home town would have a shooting once a year or so). But the eastern half and a good chunk of the south eastern side of town is sketchy af and i dont even bother going over there even in the day. And the North end is to be avoided as well. Not places you would want to take Mopars. Which is also where you see the majority of Mopars at.
@@joshuakhaos4451 You're right, I live in Bellevue, Riverwalk on the Harpeth. After 13 years, there is even more crime around Bellevue. They are going to low crime areas now.
@@jamesgreer3791 Yeah, I've noticed that out here. Its still a nice area, But theres more violent crime happening. It used to be that serious crime only really happened in the ghettos or in the areas around them, But now after the summer of 2020, Ive noticed that those criminals that stayed in the hood, are now driving way outside of their normal territory or are moving into cheaper areas of nicer neighborhoods and then creating the same conditions upon the surrounding areas with little to no crime.
I'm honestly looking to get a house in Fairview, white bluff or burns whenever home prices really start going down.
