I will actually be so sad if this doesn't win best direcor, or best motion picture (or Best Score as well). Nolan really did gave his all to make an outstanding experience. He definitly deserves the best director award.
Unfortunately Del Toro will win. He is a good director, but The Shape of Water is overrated. Although Dunkirk does not be the Nolan's best film, it is his best work as a director. No doubt about it.
Nolan deserved both awards. Zimmer should’ve won Score as well. Would’ve like the film to win all 8 of the Oscars it was up for, but though 6 out of 8 awards would be most of the Oscars. I think Dunkirk will go down as one of the most beloved films within the next few years or so. I think it’ll be more beloved later on more than it is now.
I enjoyed it very much but my brother and cousin that it was boring:( but I really enjoyed knowing this part of history:) and it was intense and felt like I was like in a dire situation and my heart kept pounding like anything could happen at any moment.
I know most people want Roger Deakins to win for Blade Runner 2049, but Dunkirk was easily the most beautiful film made this year, and one of the most visually stunning films ever made.
My country wasn't involved in the battle of dunkirk and i never knew the history of it so i'm thankfull i came to know the story even if it was thro my favorite musician. There is a lesson there for when you loose and live to fight another day and i'm happy it was told with christopher nolan's touch on it. I doubt anyone would have done it quite this way.
Saw it 4 times ONLY IMAX 70MM It was really the only way to see it It was my most anticipated movie of 2017 (yes over Star Wars) & it did not disappoint AT ALL in any way Thank You Master Nolan
The amount of effort and creativity involved in the making of his masterpiece is an inspiration to me. Whenever i feel like there is task that seems impossible and lose hope, the Dunkirk spirit in me will motivate me to conquer the impossible.
Derrive it’s beyond embarrassing. It’s just stupid. They finally acknowledge his directing now, yet he could’ve been nominated for director a good number of times already. Now he deserves his Oscar nominations for Dunkirk, but he should have more nominations and should’ve won by now. He should win for this, but we’ll have to wait and see if Dunkirk can pull out some big wins. I hope it does.
I really liked this movie. It had a way of keeping you on the edge of your seat until it was all over. Movies very rarely do that nowadays and to see that being conveyed from the big screen is such a good feeling. Saw it twice in theatres, but I believe that it won't be that last time I see this movie.
When i see this movie in 4K version i put in my favorite movies i ever seen in my life..!! I don't have words for Chris this man is legend for cinematography is very special!Separate director for special viewers.!!
Its amazing how there is very little talking or conversations in this film BUT you always know EXACTLY what's going on and why. Amazing... And that tick tock sound....whoa!
I don't care it didn't win best picture or nolan for best director But people gonna remember this movie for decades.... & only movie that inspired me to become a filmmaker 😍😍😍😍
One of my biggest regrets in life shall be missing the opportunity to watch this beautifully crafted film I'm theatres. BTW, how much difference do you think is there when watching this in an IMAX theatre and watching it at your home? (those who've watched it in cinemas)....
if this movie wins best director for Christopher Nolan, then I would say please give a very big congratulations to Christopher Nolan himself for a terrific job in the most beautiful movie that we might have seen so far this year
this film deserves to win best picture also best director should go to Nolan, i liked TSOW but Del Toro's excellent direction was nothing like the new heights Nolan achieved Dunkirk should also win score, editing and both sound categories
Joseph Kitchens I felt so intense watching this part of history unfold very tense I felt tense and the soilders and everyone must have felt same thing in real life.
I can see that shooting this movie was just as stressful as the movie itself, definitely an Oscar winner, it's a must go for me, an unique experience on theaters
proud I got to be in the film and in what I considered a big part of the film the iconic bridge scene and the part where the tail of bombs were dropped for being just about 15 at time it was the greatest moment of my life.
mayank goyal not the best Imax .... But far better than others ... If u want a good experience go to PVR iconic at saket or PCR ecx.....u'll enjoy it...!!
I really hope this wins Best Picture at the Oscars. Surely the Academy can't honestly think that Lady Bird and Get Out are better movies than this 10/10
Just watched this last night. Wish i could time travel and go see this in IMAX. Sadly I was in the airforce in japan at the time so I had no way of seeing it.
Can I just say that I know people who did VFX for this film and worked dam hard. so as much as this feature completely ignores them there were hard working VFX artists who made the film even better!
Wow not being mean or anything, but Emma and Chris have certainly aged. It just seemed like yesterday they were promoting TDK and Inception. Here's to another ten years of success and amazing films!
Either Three Billboards, Lady Bird, or Shape of Water will merit the prize. Sadly enough Oscars don't care about effort or endurance of immense trial. The Oscars is a loop.
I will actually be so sad if this doesn't win best direcor, or best motion picture (or Best Score as well). Nolan really did gave his all to make an outstanding experience. He definitly deserves the best director award.
Davis Productions yup .
He deserves to win more than anyone else .
Del Toro will win, but I REALLY want Dunkirk to win.....beautiful film, beautifully made by a real genius!
Yeah, it's kinda obvious he will win (most likely), although he did no deserve it as much as Nolan.
I saw this on IMAX. Best decision ever.
Ditto. I saw it 3 times in IMAX.
Miadaskate lmao Ikr. When you watch it in normal theatres or even on digital, you only get half of it. A cropped widescreen version of it. I hate that
😭😭 I couldn't
ik this was ages ago, but was it the real deal or the cropped version
@@PASTRAMIKick the real deal, im from Chile, and i saw it literally on the only imax cinema available in the country
10/10 perfection
BATJAX I agree with you mate
that movie was retarded
BATJAX 0/0 i do not like jews or black people
BATJAX vfngbnvv c. Huibcfhr
Christopher Nolan is real genius
Beautiful film beautifully made
I enjoyed it very much but my brother and cousin that it was boring:( but I really enjoyed knowing this part of history:) and it was intense and felt like I was like in a dire situation and my heart kept pounding like anything could happen at any moment.
Best film of 2017.
I'm glad this was my first time in an IMAX.
A visual masterpiece.
Chris is best.
I know most people want Roger Deakins to win for Blade Runner 2049, but Dunkirk was easily the most beautiful film made this year, and one of the most visually stunning films ever made.
This film never ceases to propel me to reach for good. Thank you! Mr. Nolan, and all cast and crew.
Even in a behind the scenes documentary, Hans Zimmer doesn't fail to create suspense 😱
Thank you for one of the greatest movie ever made. The Dark Knight.
Saw it 4 times ONLY IMAX 70MM
It was really the only way to see it
It was my most anticipated movie of 2017 (yes over Star Wars) & it did not disappoint AT ALL in any way
Thank You Master Nolan
Remember the feelings when i saw it for the 1st time. So much chills. Incredible
One of the best suspenseful film ever
Just give him an oscar already
They won't because there are people out there that actually think this film is slow-paced, boring, or too confusing. *facepalms*
i know T__T
Oscars won’t acknowledge a film of white men especially how awards are more political than deserving.
CDABLUE Oh, but it's worth it! Sitting through 3 hours of pity laughs at terrible jokes, just for seeing who wins best picture
The amount of effort and creativity involved in the making of his masterpiece is an inspiration to me. Whenever i feel like there is task that seems impossible and lose hope, the Dunkirk spirit in me will motivate me to conquer the impossible.
Oscars are overrated..everyone knows this is epic and deserves to go down in history
After Interstellar, TDK, inception . It’s embarrassing that Christopher Nolan doesn’t have an Oscar.
@@Jared_Wignall honestly Nolan has said before that he among other filmmakers are not in this for awards and such they are in this to tell stories.
Christopher Nolan + Hans Zimmer = Legendary Masterpiece!
One of te best movie ❤
I really liked this movie. It had a way of keeping you on the edge of your seat until it was all over. Movies very rarely do that nowadays and to see that being conveyed from the big screen is such a good feeling. Saw it twice in theatres, but I believe that it won't be that last time I see this movie.
talanted, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never-the-same, totally unique, completely-not-ever-been-done-before
The Perfect War Film...This is the Kind Of Cinema You won't See Everyday. Aided by Hans Zimmer's Thunderous Score. Chris Delivers the Impossible
That music gets me all the time.
When i see this movie in 4K version i put in my favorite movies i ever seen in my life..!! I don't have words for Chris this man is legend for cinematography is very special!Separate director for special viewers.!!
MASTER. PIECE. MASTER-PIECE. MASTERPIECE.
If he doesn't get Oscar for this, it would be the biggest mistake by academy in decades.
yep.....
One of the greatest war films ever made
The background music adds intensity of the video.. amazing
Even the documentary is intense 😂
Easily the most immersive, and best film of 2017.
That's why Christopher Nolan is my favourite director.
Chris Noland and Emma Thomas are the most heartwarming couple!
This video is waving so hard at the Academy i can hear its shoulder blades breaking the sound barrier.
We are lucky to be living in Nolan era
They probably used this for the Best Picture compaign
Such a great film, I've never felt this much emotion in the theaters. I hope it wins best picture
Dunkirk is a masterpierces and i am glad to have seen it on Imax.
Its amazing how there is very little talking or conversations in this film BUT you always know EXACTLY what's going on and why. Amazing... And that tick tock sound....whoa!
Nolan is the best director of our time! Dunkirk is a cinematic masterpiece!
*BEST FILM OF 2017*
Agreed mate
I don't care it didn't win best picture or nolan for best director
But people gonna remember this movie for decades....
& only movie that inspired me to become a filmmaker 😍😍😍😍
This was an amazing featurette! This is the best IMAX movie I’ve ever experienced. Can’t wait for Nolan’s next film
This film deserves to win the awards! I was totally absorbed while watching this film.
One of my biggest regrets in life shall be missing the opportunity to watch this beautifully crafted film I'm theatres. BTW, how much difference do you think is there when watching this in an IMAX theatre and watching it at your home? (those who've watched it in cinemas)....
Devesh Pandey the depth of the image and the sound is just pure genius !!
It was made with keeping imax cinema in mind
This film is a achievement in film making.
I really like this movie. Many story connect with this movie. Thanks for making this kind of movie❤
Its a very good movie, intense, well made, beautiful, thrilling etc. Direction and cinematography were at level best.. revolutionary film
Best film of the year. Hope it can get some love at the Academy Awards. It deserves it.
0:54 that background poster!
if this movie wins best director for Christopher Nolan, then I would say please give a very big congratulations to Christopher Nolan himself for a terrific job in the most beautiful movie that we might have seen so far this year
This movie was a non stop intense ride. Saw it in 70mm IMAX with my friends, one of the best moment.
Already had respect for the story and the movie, but much more respect now for how they pulled it off.
this film deserves to win best picture also best director should go to Nolan, i liked TSOW but Del Toro's excellent direction was nothing like the new heights Nolan achieved Dunkirk should also win score, editing and both sound categories
Joseph Kitchens I felt so intense watching this part of history unfold very tense I felt tense and the soilders and everyone must have felt same thing in real life.
yes so well done was the tension level also what the film did with time was unique and cool
Joseph Kitchens If oscars meant anything anymore, blade runner would win best picture and director but no its not even nominated...
well i agree it should have been nominated as well as Logan for picture and actor for Hugh Jackman but not Blade runner for the win but yes the noms
Seriously everything thing is practical effect , even fire on water .
I can see that shooting this movie was just as stressful as the movie itself, definitely an Oscar winner, it's a must go for me, an unique experience on theaters
Holy shit! Thank you for this!
proud I got to be in the film and in what I considered a big part of the film the iconic bridge scene and the part where the tail of bombs were dropped for being just about 15 at time it was the greatest moment of my life.
Saw it in Imax Delhi.... amazing experience loved the movie...❤❤
harjot singh ditto watched it on IMAX Noida , one of the best theatre experience i ever had

I really hope this wins Best Picture at the Oscars. Surely the Academy can't honestly think that Lady Bird and Get Out are better movies than this 10/10
Salute to the best director and composer alive!
This is why Christopher Nolan is my favourite working director.
2:26 so beautiful. There's a name of the boat hanging on the wall
Just watched this last night. Wish i could time travel and go see this in IMAX. Sadly I was in the airforce in japan at the time so I had no way of seeing it.
One word. Perfect.
I watched this movie in my Laptop with such great quality and sound settings which gives you an experience beyond IMAX standards...!
this is/was the best "film" film of 2017
I smell an Oscar here for best cinematography
If anything, this movie should win production design and score.
27:58 , that is why Nolan is one of the best director of our time
Or I mean, FilmMaker
My favourite film of last year
This is crazy good.
This is a great companion film to Valiant (2005) when you watch them back-to-back
One of the best movie ever made.
I love this movie I personally think it's the best film of 2017.
I really want Roger Deakins to finally win the oscar, but damn. They're both incredible in their own ways. I couldn't choose.
Emma Thomas and Chris Nolan is my relationship goals. They are so amazing together.
The first film I saw in IMAX and my God am I glad I did
Can I just say that I know people who did VFX for this film and worked dam hard. so as much as this feature completely ignores them there were hard working VFX artists who made the film even better!
Dunkirk and Saving Private Ryan are literally the best go to films in terms of historical accuracy and lore. Red lines take notes 😂. Imao
awesome movie
If this movie doesn't win best picture I'll boycott the oscars
Waww amazing movies👏👏👏
ive been waiting months for this
Total class act..... ✌🏻
Tats insane film making!
O Melhor do ano! Tem que ganhar o Oscar!
Dunkirk, win all the Oscars
I watched #Dunkirk at IMAX in #Lahore, #Pakistan. That experience can't be put to words!
Өте мағыналы жəне əдемі кинофильм!Кристофер Нолан - нағыз киноғұлама!
Dunkirk makes you proud to be british even tho your not even British
really good oscar campaign right here
Wow not being mean or anything, but Emma and Chris have certainly aged. It just seemed like yesterday they were promoting TDK and Inception. Here's to another ten years of success and amazing films!
So in love.
I was wondering... Is this the movie I saw ?
These shots look amazing
A great Oscar campaign
If Lady Bird wins over this , I will lose my respect for Oscars.
hope not.
Either Three Billboards, Lady Bird, or Shape of Water will merit the prize. Sadly enough Oscars don't care about effort or endurance of immense trial. The Oscars is a loop.
And the oscar goes to.. Christopher Nolan for Dunkirk.
Man that cardboard soldier looks sooooooo real even behind the scenes
