You have no idea how long I've been trying to find or even create a simple calendar template in sheet which doesn't involve Appscript. Thank you so much.

Hello, is there a way that the events on the calendar becomes color coded depending on who adds the event? We are using this as a shared family calendar.

But I'm facing some struggle.. I've made the conditional formatting to the first day and the cell under it, as you have explained, BUT when I go copy and paste that to all the rest I get them allll at that color.. instead of only for the days aren't included at the month...😅😢 how can I solve that..

This was very hepful. I ran into an odd issue. I created an event for October 30, but It's only populating in the shadowed October 30 Day in the November Calendar. Do you know what I might've done wrong? The issue only seems to exist in the October calendar.

I've been kind of making my own calendar but not like this to help me know which day I work with 2 jobs. is there a way to highlight am time in one color and pm in another in the formula?
Hey, This is so amazing, but one question: How do you slow the problem with transfering it to a monday to sunday based calendar? (Not sunday to saturday). I espescially mean with the month june 2025 where june 1 is disappering. It has something to do with the "weekday()" command, which sets sunday as value 1 and saturday as value 7. I want sunday to have value 7 and saturday as value 6. :)
This is great but when I don't have anything schedulled for that particular day the filter comes up with a N#/A error, anyway to fix this?

I found it a good idea, for me, to include fields to remind me of bills to pay, or for my business, when I have money (that should be) coming in. Basically, and bills-payable, or bills-receivable, calendar all in one place.

Sure, you can do all of them on the same sheet.
I'm completely lost on very last step where just copy the formula and paste it to all cells. it will not automatically populate the task on that day, and when i tried to paste it, the border line disappears too. couldn't figure out why
How you can maintain details about January only in this month? The reason is because when a select february, details appear also in this month as a error.
How can I add event information when the event information is on the same page as the calendar?
this is brilliant and I have got it to work correctly. Now I need to take it a step further and do this with a weekly schedule, so that the correct event goes into the correct time slot on the correct day - how can I do that?

When the text is joined, by any chance is there a feature that can color text to code different events in the calendar?
For instance, I'm putting my bills in the calendar with the list "Details" & "Details Sorted"; however, I would like to be able to color code the bills on my calendar so I can see (blue) wording or (blue) background for all of my credit card payments and (green) for all of my insurance payments, (orange) for all of my subscriptions, ETC....

i dont understand when i used the function of weekday my date started to 1900 year instead the current year (2023). could you help how to fix that?
Nice calendar, and I did almost verything you recommended, but I don't know why when I added another condition to the filter, my previous working data disappeared. I wanted to use another column that had a word in it. Some rows had the work bank, others had loan, others had interest, and sometimes they had the same date. But when I set it up for the word "loan", the detail info I wanted to show went away. What am I doing wrong?

This is a great tutorial. I am however, struggling with the "Add Details" part of this. I was able to get it to work on one spreadsheet. Then I copied and pasted the formula to another spreadsheet and it did not work in the second one. Any thoughts on why that might be?
This is amazing!! BEST video on how to work with calendar function! Is there a way to create a filter for a range of dates?? I want to indicate when certain people will be out of our office and I know I can add EACH date and have it show up - but I imagine I would have 2 columns (start date, end date) and I would want to assign a custom color to each "boss". That seems like it should be do-able, but not sure where to start?
Learn a ton about advanced conditional formatting and logical tests & you should be able to do it.

I am trying to insert holidays that start at a date, and end at another date, so I replaced "cell = date" to "AND(cell=CellRange2)", but something isn't working; is there any restriction for using AND with Cell Ranges?
