Hi from Australia. The silver proof coloured 1oz 2024 Lunar Dragon looks much better. The design on the silver coins is a water dragon. Perth Mint are able to used the QE2 memorial design up until May 2024 if they choose. Thanks for your videos.
The water dragon in the year of the wood dragon is a bit strange imho. The design is OK but the coin doesn't fit into the series. It looks like the coin would be from another series. That's what I don't like.
Totally agree, the gold design is much more attractive than the silver design. I do find it strange that the gold design omits the pearl of wisdom...it was included in the 2012 design. I don't believe there's ever been a lunar coin depiction of a "baby" dragon, however. 🐲🐲
The only reason I didn’t grab any of these is because they are unlimited strike, they are very beautiful though, I may get the silver series 2 but it takes two months to buy a ounce of gold so I’ve been buying Mexican liberstads and I recently purchased the napoleon commander series, it’s gonna take four years to get the collection because they only come out with 3 a year for four years with the one ounce of only 10,000 strikes and for the 1/10 ounce 200,000 which is still not a lot. I will eventually grow my collection but good video and nice coins.
It seems I am in the minority but I love the silver dragon. Just bought the 2oz to put on display on my desk. I think the fire breathing and the ocean wave accents around the outside look smashing. No one else have any love for it?

I'm going to enjoy collecting the sizes in gold. I'm going to like it even more if they launch a new effigy on us after May next year (when the allowance to use the Queen's effigy runs out). With a silver Wood Dragon and baby. Maybe the baby could be a little emperor, given that the Royal line likes to say it's descended from the Gods. They could illustrate the child accompanying the mother dragon like they do on the 10 Yuan Coin of Auspicious Matters, which is a really cute 1/10th oz gold coin I just love.

Congrats for the coins , I would not be surprised if there is Charles III coin for this one. with all the respect to the Queen R.I.P , it was for 2022-2023 , and this coin is made for 2024 😐Mints like to make extra money from special additions and so on.
The mints are allowed to use Queen Elizabeth's effigy until May 2024. I don't like the money making with dead people. It's OK if they release several coronation and birthday coins for King Charles but as you said. They should let the Queen RIP.

I agreed. I am getting rid of my Rat, Ox, Tiger and Rabbit coins because i find the design of the dragon on the silver coin the ugliest I have ever seen. As a Chinese, I love dragon. I buy almost any silver or gold coins have beautiful dragon.
Apparently the circular pebble thing on the left of the coin is supposed to be an egg/baby dragon. You can see it clearer on the coloured version of the coin 😊

we can't have a nordic dragon, we are not a nordic nation, in fact quite the opposite. we are as far south as you can get. And we arent going to have a Welsh dragon because Welsh poeple don't collect gold coins. Chinese people collect gold coins and love their Zodiac dragons. Great coin, BTW. King Charles coin under a Labor republican government may take some time. The coins are legal tender and must be approved by government. so expect a low roll out in 2024 if we are lucky.

I don't think that the 2020 silver coin has a baby. They look like 2 two adult mice. Honestly i think that was the best lunar silver design so far, I loved the reverse proof finish of the mice and hiw the kernels pop out like 3d. The series in silver went downhill from there. I think the silver dragon looks nice, its breathing out water!

The colour proof silver is stunning but the silver bullion non colour has the viewers eyes struggling to define the image. The coloured dragon image doesn't translate well into non colour. I was waiting for a non colour 1 kilo silver but now seeing the image on the 1oz, that's not going to happen. The 1 kilo silver coloured bullion is double the price of the non colour ..not paying that for a splash of colour.
Meh. The dragon looks a bit like it’s got chicken feet. I’ll collect a round of six each of the 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1oz for each of my 6 children but no more than that. Cheers🥃

The silver design is so ugly that I decided to get rid of my Rat,Ox, Tiger and Rabbit because I am not going to collect this series seeing this ugly dragon design. I was waiting for a non colour 1 kilo silver but now seeing the image on the 1oz, that's not going to happen. The 1 kilo silver coloured bullion is double the price of the non colour ..not paying that for a splash of colour.
I agree. I like the design of the gold coin much better than the design of the silver coin.
I thought the 1 kilo silver dragon colored is proof and not bullion.

Meh. The dragon looks a bit like it’s got chicken feet. I’ll collect a round of six each of the 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1oz for each of my 6 children but no more than that.

I dont like it design for silver. It is so ugly than platinum or gold. Pertmint is soo unfair. They give the silver ugly design

The gold design is nice, but not as nice as the series II dragon. The silver design is so ugly that I decided to get rid of my Rat,Ox, Tiger and Rabbit because I am not going to collect this series seeing this ugly dragon design. Being a Chinese, dragon is one of the superior Lunar Zodiac. They took a traditional Chinese dragon design. I think they could have done better.
Lunar series 2 is the best. Don't like series 3.
