Ok, Tim, I know I've been bugging you to tour this resort for months now. I am SO GLAD that you guys decided to stay here! I thought it would be my favorite resort, and I was not wrong. I LOVE the upscale feel of this place. Plus.. ITALY!
I'm ready to move in. RIGHT NOW. Packing my bags...
The "Continental Breakfast" room you were referring to say is the lounge for concierge rooms. We stayed in a room that had it last stay and it was very cheap, only about $60 more a night, but you get breakfast, snacks/drinks throughout the day, hot appetizers with free beer/wine/liquor and dessert. For a family, you can definitely get your money's worth just based on breakfast, drinks and snacks alone...and the appetizers were DELICIOUS.
We LOVE this hotel! The Minions Kids Suite we stayed in last year was super fun for the children (we made a video about it) - this year we stayed in a deluxe club room which was very nice and the Club level upgrade gives you access to the complimentary snacks, drinks, food, beer and wine (the Club level amenities are situated in the room with the double doors you showed but you were unsure what was inside). Great video as always guys keep them coming! : )
Now Tim, you just march right in those stores and announce, " I am the Tim Tracker and I am here to film!" They will fall over themselves to accommodate you.
Thanks for the tour, I never see many videos on this hotel. Also thumbs up for awkward vlogging! I'll pretty much vlog anywhere but I do have occasional moments where it feels weird to vlog.
Disney in Detail i
Mama Della's is amazing. Really good food and service. The pastas are made in house and the soups are fantasic. Mama comes out and sings to the tables at dinner time. Really nice restaurant highly recommend
As a dyed in the wool Disney go-er, I have never really considered staying anywhere else but Disney properties. This vlog just changed my mind. This video was amazingly well structured and filmed. After watching this we WILL be spending a week here for our next trip. Thanks Tim and Jen. Loved it.

I was a lifeguard here when I was 17-18. I used to love going to work. It is such a beautiful hotel. Although I did get heat stroke once because we aren't allowed to jump in the water unless someone needs help or assistance so in the summer in 105 degree weather it's brutal. I do love this hotel though I wish I had never left

Just found our hotel for next year when we go to Universal. Thank you. That was a beautiful resort. Didn't even feel like a theme park resort. That is how Riverside feels.
unlimited express also awesome perk. I think everyone should try all the universal hotels even if its just one night. One thing tour videos can't give you is the atmosphere of actually staying their.

Mom and I stayed there last December, and we absolutely loved it. But we also loved the lobby, courtyard, and general theming. It is *very* authentic Italian. We'll stay there again in a heartbeat
Memories of our stay - sitting outside Sal's Deli eating pizza and watching the boats bob on the lagoon! So beautiful.
It would be nice if every room came with a Jenn. :) Would be cool to hang out with.
Thanks for a great reminder, we stayed here in 2014 and fell in love with it. Sal's Pizza is fab, had a great lunch sitting outside watching the boats - so peaceful. Bice is pronounced Bee-chay (it's Italian) and we had a bad experience there - bland food, noisy surroundings and very odd service - but maybe others have had better.
I flipping love the look of this hotel!! Those opera singers were amazing! Also-we were in Rome last May and it was about 7 million degrees so the temperature is pretty authentic!!

Yes the Portofino Bay is gorgeous! Our room was over looking the main pool with the slide!! Wow that was October 1999 the place was brand spanking new!! We went for Halloweekends!! As well as walking to the City Walk cinema to watch the grand opening of the Blair Witch Project!! Walking back to our hotel after that movie at night was scary I remember we ran back! Wow that’s crazy how long ago it was!!! It was a blast!!

We've stayed at Portafino Bay a few times now over the years. Always an awesome time. The pool area is my favorite of any hotel in the Theme Parks, Mama Della's is a ton of fun, and the ambiance of the resort is just second to none. It is a fabulous place to just hang out all day. The 10 minute walk to City Walk is actually a plus for me, as it also means the resort is relatively quiet and peaceful at night - if you're in a hurry, they have plenty of bike taxis that muster right at the boat dock that will get you to Margaritaville in just a couple of minutes (but we really like the ride). Highly recommended destination if you're going to Universal (and the free Express Pass for Deluxe resort guests is great).
Another excellent video of a beautiful hotel that doesn't get the recognition it deserves, very detailed and informative!! How about a segment on best and worst food, hotels, rides, and parks??
It's been a while, but we use to eat at Mama Della's every time we were at Universal. It was very good Italian food.

Thanks for showing us around Tim! I've been lucky enough to stay there three times (twice for work) and I've been in those ballrooms before. The Portofino Bay is one of my absolute favorite hotels, and I think I actually like it more than any Walt Disney World hotel. Like you said it really does feel like you're in Italy. I would like to try staying at the Royal Pacific one day because I love the look of that hotel as well. Thanks again!!!

Loving these hotel tour videos! They do the same thing asking for your room key at Beach/Yacht club resorts too so only hotel guests can use that amazing pool

I stayed at Portifino for my birthday and when I got back to my room after a day at the park, there was a goodies basket full of candy and chips and a nice note from the employees wishing me a happy birthday. I loved staying here.
Haha, I feel awkward filming just about anywhere, so it's funny to see you feel that way too in certain places!
I feel the same way. I'm a new on RUclips and you can actually hear my voice drop when people are around. Got to get over that! But it's easier said than done. So it's kinda cool to see that even a seasoned pro like Tim gets that way sometimes.
We went here for our honeymoon. We stayed for 8 days. It was amazing. Momma Dellas is the best. Sal’s is good if you want to take a pizza to your room. We stayed in a room that looked over the bay. They moved us to a room with a better view after they figured out we were on our honeymoon. Our room had a large white tub and a separate shower that was glass. You could open these shutters and it would allow you to watch tv in the main area from the bath tub. lol I costs a little more than most, but it’s worth it. The ability to ride the boats to the park is worth it alone...not having to worry about parking and all. They also give you free fast passes for the park.
I once got my room upgraded to a suite there. AWESOME. Also, the picturesque walk or boat ride to the parks is one of the perks.
This is my favorite resort, it’s such a beautiful place and they even allow you to bring a dog!
Mama Della’s is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Excellent food, excellent service, plus having an opera singer serenade me makes me feel fancy, and I like that. 😎
OMG Tim and Jen are such lovely people. I mean seriously they were just going about their business when me and Rebecca literally jumped on top of them and they quite happily stopped and chatted to us. It completed my holiday on a high note meeting them on our very last day. Just to let you know we arrived safely home today. Just jet legged now. XXX Thanks again for stopping and chatting to us. Keep up the great vlogs. However going to be said now watching and I'm in not so sunny England I WANT TO BE IN ORLANDO LOL
I love these resort/hotel tours. I am never going to be able to afford staying at one. But I still love watching them. Tim's are especially pleasant to watch.
I am also all in on that pirate fish.
My husband and I stayed at The Portofino for 5 days last October and my only regret is that we did not spend time in/at the hotel. We were up at 6am and back at the room after 10pm every night and never really experienced the hotel. It was the same when we stayed at the Jambo House at Disney. We had a Savannah View room and only saw the animals in the morning because when we got back to the hotel room, it was dark.
The courtyard feels like the Hollywood Studios Stunt Show...

My favorite parts of staying at Portofino was our Bay view and believe it or not- the beds! Never slept in a bed so comfortable as the beds at Portofino!! Would love to go back some day.
the room near to the lobby which you said was 'serving continental breakfast' is the club level lounge. Free alcohol gets served for a couple of hours late afternoon / early evening, just a shame it's a fairly lengthy walk (or stagger depending on the time of day ;) ) back to the rooms. Anyway, we're back here in a couple of weeks and this vlog reminded us of what a lovely place this is, thanks :)
I love your hotel tours and seeing all the different resorts in Orlando, but I am amazed at home many bars and restaurants are closed during the day at these resorts. I guess, living in Las Vegas I am just used to everything being opened 24/7 and I know at a resort here, I wouldn't have to worry about things being closed.
We stayed there early March 2017, and it was amazing and so relaxing. We were able to go into the “dinner” club and it was so good. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT RESORT!!

This was my first Universal resort my family and I stayed at and it's our favorite so far. They had an opera singing while we were eating dinner at night and it was magical.Great memories from that place. I would looovvee to go back. Great video guys! Much love.

Nice hotel. It seems like a whole different world when starting there. It's like your not starting in Florida. And working distance to universal and island of adventure. And that bed looks super comfortable.

Love this hotel, stayed here with partner last year. Was lovely to always find a seat to have a coffee in the morning etc and watch the boats come in! Great tour and We understand about awkward vlogging hahahah!! Those shops are quiet! Have a fab day.
that room you didn't know about is the concierge room, it's basically breakfast and desserts, purchased that when on vacation because my dad has diabetes so it was extremely helpful for snacks!
Thanks for keeping it real Tim. I also judge how "fancy" a restaurant is by the prices. I think the whole reason I've never vlogged is for feeling awkward, so it's nice to hear that a seasoned professional still has those thoughts!
The only hotels at Disney that I've seen you need a key are Bay Lake Tower, the Contemporary, the Grand Floridian, and the Polynesian. Each has a gate that opens with your Magicband.

Staying there in about six months. Stayed at Yacht Club in WDW about four years ago and you had to show your room key there to get into the pool area. They actually had it enclosed by fencing. Thx for the tour. Heard it was nice but now really excited.

Great Hotel. Took my kids there last summer. Check this hotel out, sometimes it can be cheaper then the Hard Rock, Royal Pacific. Very beautiful and worth it. When taking the water taxi from the park less people that ride it while the others have long lines waiting to go back to other hotels.
I stayed at Portofino Bay Universal Studios Orlando Florida during my 21st birthday with my little sister in May 2006.

Love the part where you stand and film in a circle. I could go for a lot more of that. I know it's not always practical for you to do this when you film, but over the years I've been able to piece together where you guys are ( even though I've never been there before ) just by watching and recognizing places in the background. By doing a 360 I get a much better idea of what it all looks like. Thanks.

Sal's has, hands down, the best pizza I have ever tasted in my life! That BBQ chicken and the Hawaiian are incredible!! So much better than Blaze or Pizza Press!
I am trying Portofino Bay for the first time in August bc of this review. I also just went to Swan last week for the first time because of your videos thank you and keep it coming! Your videos are always personable, interesting, and the excitement is contagious!
they also have a huge christmas tree during winter and everythings super pretty, its worth going back to see!

I loved this place. The rooms are so beautiful. The theming is awsome. I loved the pet park. The pool and poolside service waa awesome. The Pizza was nice too! Mama Della is beautiful and tasty. The character sings to you too!! The spa is expensive though...
I am totally staying here for my 60th birthday. We're getting our included express passes! I'm going to eat rack of lamb (I've never had it before.) And I am totally buying a pirate fish shirt (if they still have them!) Only nine years away!

I loved this vlog so much!!! I really wished you guys would have tried the pastries at the bfast buffet, ate a pizza at sal's, ate at Mama's, or ate the nachos at the pool bar. But the tour was amazing! Loved every second!
