So many people trash the accents without knowing *why* he started them in the first place!😒 After od-ing he had to learn basic functions again from suffering cognitive brain damage, nervous system damage & Tinnitus!😔 That’s what makes this album even *more* *special* knowing *1* we didn’t lose Marshall forever! And *2* how difficult his road to recovery was & he never gave up!😓 Imagine if he quit and we didn’t get *ALL* songs & albums we’ve gotten since 2008!🥹 🐐💐
Yep. I used to hate the accents, but this era grew on me immensely over the years. The serial killer pov concept gave us some of the hardest Slim Shady horrorcore of his career, and accents opened so many insane rhyme schemes to him. I completely disagree with Em on this album being trash. It was so much better than Recovery, MMLP 2, Revival, or Kamikaze imo. Mtbmb is close but he was just unstoppable on Relapse. Losing proof, his OD, then his detox from drugs, put him in a dark place, so I get why he doesnt like that time. But God damn, it gave us a horrorcore masterpiece.
Watching a normal person stumble and stutter through these lyrics while reading them off the screen should be explanation enough of this mans lyricism. Regular people can’t even read what he flows smoothly.
EM said he overdid the accents and thats why he cringe at Relapse but its a cult classic and everyone loves it. I think only people whose first language was/is English find the accents odd and but we foreigners loved the album and the accents.
I bought this album the day it released, so I had no outside influence on what I originally thought about it. And it WAS and still IS awesome from start to finish!
There are three verses in three different perspectives in the story that has a dialectical scheme that no other artist would be able to compose, telling you an almost horror story.
This, 3am and Musicbox are my favorite Em tracks. He does some God-level shit with these accents and horror movie storytelling. I think u missed " Im the type of guy thats Mild but will flip and get a little bit Wilder. Flip the M in Mild and u get Wild. Also, "Stay away from me cause im dancing to quite a different drum beat" - the beat to this track sounds like a heartbeat. Serial killer/blood-thirsty monster type of shit. Also also, that third Verse is something that should be quoted and framed and hang in a museum somewhere.
The way Em keeps the flow and cadence going line after line on this song is unbelievable! There’s no other rapper that can come close to it. Brilliance!
We're in the B Rabbit hole now. This album is so truly slept on. Someone the best rhyme schemes he could have ever came up with. This off the heels of his OD where he had to learn how to rap again getting clean. This, Bagpipes, must be the Ganja, music box, insane. There's just so many here. Really need to just hit all the songs here no matter which order you do them in.
The accents may have been disliked by a lot of people, but, I feel like they were definitely required for most of the songs on this album. 3 AM is another fun track off relapse.
I’ve listened to this song over 100 times and still watch and seek out reactors with this song. Idk. Just fucking love it. Never gets old. Always shake my head at the rhyme scheme
Eminem - Legacy The whole entire song has the same rhyme scheme and tells the story of his life.. One of my absolute favorites.. Amazing story telling song
Relapse (including Refill) is my favorite Em album as a whole. So many dark and twisted songs, with incredible rhyming that’s really pleasing to my ears. 😂 I’m one of those women that’s reaaly quiet, mild mannered, fairly sweet, very much a people pleaser. But I’m all about the true crime stuff, serial killer documentaries, etc. LOL. (I think because I find the psychology/psychopathy of it so fascinating.) So, when I listen to Relapse, I don’t even notice the “accents,” I just hear the kind of stories that I’d typically watch, but they’re being told in a way that literally everything rhymes, and they’re set to *amazing* beats. This one, 3 AM, Music Box, Buffalo Bill, Deja Vu, and especially Underground…all absolute bangers in my book.
Yo, I love how much you love the craft. You're one of the few really putting together each layer and sitting there actually studying and understanding how each layer matches the others between the cadence, internal and external rhymes in the same word and how it's cohesive. Don't ever stop being a student of the art. I'm sure you're painfully familiar with the Beastie Boys, but if not, you'll enjoy them. Specifically the album Paul's Boutique. And you'll probably also notice how Em pays homage to the Boys with an entire album cover. Anyways, keep doing what you're doing. It's fun to watch someone being a student and enjoying artistry so thoroughly.
@@ScottLovenberg bro wtf?? Thank you for that comment lol yes man I just goes give it up to him. He’s the ultimate rapper n ultimate wordsmith. I have to point out everything I see, It would be a disservice on my part if I didn’t. Again thank you for that n thank you for respecting n appreciating the creates as well.
People dont even realize how much Em attacked this song with the Multi Rhyme Schemes and it wasnt even a bar heavy song is was a story telling horrorcore record where he also was just fooling around with the lyrical acrobatics. Each verse ramped up higher and higher each time, Not many can do this and non as good as him. He murdered the fuck out this song literally
this song right here...made me put EM back at the top of my list of greats to still be doin it. jus like how kendrick dragged me into the song with the story in meet the grahms lmao. this song gave me that same feelin to let me know EM still got it. Cuz this was a masterpiece at a time when people thought he wasnt gonna be as good. BOYYYYY he shut them up with this.
I'm a massive Em fan like huge. But he got smoked for this album and Encore. I personally love this song and both those albums. It took years for this song to get any love.
I think he’s the best at breaking up words to jump the word line personally. Rakim talks about inventing jumping the bar in his book, so crazy. Clearly a huge influence to Em.
Did anyone mention that the beat is a heartbeat? Adds to the horror scenario. So cool. My apologies if you say it later, I’m 15 mins in right now. Love your content man. Been a big SK fan for years but lately I find myself going to your reactions. I love how you go beyond bars. Cheers!
You have to do this album for your reaction. This is eminems most slept on album. The whole album is crazy flows rymme schemes cadence it's got everything
(Do the 3am video, it hits so much harder than just the lyrics. He also made a sequel called Framed {with a video} that’s on the Revival album. It’s dope af!) Love your reactions dude 🙂 I’m so happy your channel is blowing up! X
"Now you got what you came for (what's that?) / Surgery. With the chainsaw!!" One of X's sickest posse cuts with Mase & The Lox off his sickest album, his debut. Good lookin on that reference my guy. That said, this song, while horrorcore and shock value, is an expert masterclass in flow technique. Written & recorded after suffering body damage from flatlining and returning to life. This is why Eminem is Top 5 on every MC that matters' lists.
This album was nuts. I wasn't a fan of the accents at the time but the lyricism was bonkers. I like the accents more now than I did then. This is that Detroit acid rap/Horrorcore music I loved when I first heard Esham.
many people are prejudiced against this album, due to the content and the accent. But I think this album is brilliant, different from anything else, with its own style and very lyrical. This album is totally underrated
Dope reaction. Can always tell that you are very informed. After this track if you want to get into some more dark Slim Shady type stuff you should do Music Box off of the Relapse: Refill album. Then Psychopath Killer with Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf on it from the ShadyXV. The dude is insane in such a brilliant way.
This song is so amazing. Em sits all alone in the clouds GOAT. Also the underlying beat is a heartbeat. This album is also really good if you actually give it a chance. It has been an industry collective trying to trash Em since Encore came out. You can't have a white person being the face of hip-hop. The real fans didn't trash him the fake ones did.
If you really want to see the genius behind this song you should look up the color coded video. The internals and externals are CRAZY!!! There are multiple internal rhymes going on. If you like this song you have to check out "Underground"on here next!!! I interpret the last line that he is so comfortable with killing that if someone intrudes on his territory he would rather call the cops than allow them to kill in his territory. I could be wrong though. It's happened once or twice in my life!
Since you like Bad Guy, there is more from MMLP2 that is really worth a listen. Groundhog Day, Legacy, Baby, Evil Twin, a fun jam with Kendrick (story like this one, but its "romance"), Rhyme or Reason, Asshole and more. Really solid album bro
I love the accents personally. I never heard this album until recently either. But it's slowly becoming one of my favorite albums of his. But MMLP will probably always be my favorite.
EM changes perspectives back and forth from the victim to the killer. EM knows all the history of the most infamous serial killers so the track is based on real life killers...👊👍😎 #SAMESONGANDDANCE🔥🔥🔥

People hated accent back in the days but people have not realized how great this album I see everyone praising this album nowadays it's my top 2 Eminem album
Yes, you are right about the accents. He said in an interview that he had to do the accents to make a lot of the words rhyme in most of this album. There were only 2 songs, I think, that didn't have accents on this album.

I agree. ❤ it's the best rhyme scheme ❤ it's insane ❤ it's amazing ❤
One of my top Eminem tracks. Also like bagpipes from Baghdad
slaughterhouse psychopath killer ft Eminem .
One of EM’s best verse

Almost 100% agree, yes
This whole album is a masterpiece
I bought this album the day it released, so I had no outside influence on what I originally thought about it. And it WAS and still IS awesome from start to finish!
I was the same. Done the same with every Em album.
There are three verses in three different perspectives in the story that has a dialectical scheme that no other artist would be able to compose, telling you an almost horror story.
Placenta from a young girl named Brenda - Brenda’s got a baby, Tupac shoutout
You gotta Do ‘Music Box’🔥 Lowkey favorite Em track along side ‘My Darling’ Both Relapse
Both are in the list. Music box is next for this album 💿

I respect your open mindness. So many ppl just disregarded any em song that they think is too different from what they used to
The accent adds to the characters!! GENIUS!!!!
I love rhe fact that the drums sounds like a heartbeat on this one, gives an extremely creepy vibe!
Nice to see someone else enjoy Relapse as much as i did.
Sing for the moment next🔥🔥🔥

A song or 2 yes but the entire album nah the accents ruined what coulda been a magnificent album
I love these long form reactions, really showing and explaining your thoughts
If you have a chance, react to "Music box" and "my darling".
I’ve listened to this song over 100 times and still watch and seek out reactors with this song. Idk. Just fucking love it. Never gets old. Always shake my head at the rhyme scheme
Just wait until you hear "it must be the ganja" the murdering continues. Since 09 relapse has been my fav em album
As an African Stan always ride with Eminem 🐐✌️
Eminem - Legacy
The whole entire song has the same rhyme scheme and tells the story of his life.. One of my absolute favorites.. Amazing story telling song
This album was a clear evolution in his style.

Shout out to Tupacs song; Brendas got a Baby.
Girl in the parks name was Brenda and he could also smell the scent of a placenta 👏
Also “I’m the kinda guy that’s mild but I might flip and get a little bit wilder”
You FLIP the “M” in mild to get WILD 👏
Check out Groundhog Day.
I've been saying for years Eminem needs to make a "rap horror musical" shit would be fire 🔥
I f**king HATE musicals (not including Little Shop of Horros and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, obv 😂😂), but that would actually have me excited.
Underground match this rhyming ❤❤
Em is just pure 🔥
He is F'N 🔥
Kendrick N Emare pure 🔥 🔥 🔥
You want accents?! React to "Discombobulated" on his most recent album!!
This song ALWAYS blows my mind.. absolutely insane in every aspect… that flow and rhyme scheme is perfection
