I love how he HARMONIZED his low notes live. Tho it's easier for him cause he's in a group, you don't see that from a lot of artist. That amazing, and that's a lot of stability and technique to maintain a note like that with such precision, in a harmony. His low notes literally sound like a bass, AMAZINGNESS! He seems like one of if not the best technical vocalist in the group. He seems to not push any of his range. His range is fluid where it needs to be. I loved the F#4 @ 6:06.
Loved that 1st A4 too! Amazing for the last note of his chest register, normally a lot of people get really thin there, he seemed quite full there on that particular performance.
Really good video. It's curious because I realized that when BSB set up as a group, Kevin used to lead with a tenor lead voice. He is baritenor. Nick had a white voice and Howie used to sing lead too, with AJ doing the bass role. Brian was beginning in the group back then. Afterwards Brian showcased and improved and matured his voice being the first singer, Kevin showed that could hit lower notes than AJ and AJ improved his real tenor voice to be co-lead singer
Novita Soemardjo So true! Very noticeable in their songs. Now that their are back together, they're back to popularity. Harmony is really different without him.
Please no comparison to other bands Kevin is more than that He executes it better than anyone That is why BSB is still kicking it, each of their voice has contribution with the band's harmony
kevin is a ver under rated singer producers could of got more out of his voice if he had more leads but then again when its a group dynamic of 5 singers theres only so much you can fit them all on a song
It is just low voice which is why he always does background. He should do lead on a BSB song just once but the producers always favor Nick Brian or AJ.
This is amazing thank you for making this! Might I ask if you can tell me where you found the 'What Makes you Beautiful' clip at around 1:36? I've been looking everywhere for it but I can't find the whole version.
Lance Bass is also classified as baritone in therangeplace, real basses are very strange: Barry White, Peter Steele, Michael from boy ii men, Johnny Cash. Lance is a baritone doing the bass role in a Pop group I think, as Kevin does, who is a baritenor
i know this comment is late but in a recent documentary lance said that Backstreet boys focused more on their singing and harmonizing, while *Nsync was more about showmanship and entertainment. Which is why *Nsync was more pop and dancing and Backstreet boys was more ballads and acapella. Don't get me wrong they both were great at both but you can tell which band focused on what aspect a little more than the other.
This has nothing to do with his voice, sorry. But, apart from an amazing voice he has such a movie star face, like old Hollywood classic beauty. Like he could have lead in a movie or something.
Kevin should do a jazz solo album! It would be amazing and fit his voice perfectly!

He is a bass-baritone
he can literally do whatever he wants with his voice, I really wish I could hear more of him in the songs, he deserves so much more :(
His lows! OMG! Fantastic!
What he does best which is why he is mostly background.
Loved that 1st A4 too! Amazing for the last note of his chest register, normally a lot of people get really thin there, he seemed quite full there on that particular performance.
He's a great piano player

Was that the original dynamic of the group>
They're all versatile singers. And remember AJ's part in "Backstreet's Back"----it was a pretty low part.
He has a beautiful voice! Damn
Kevin has a great voice of the oldest singer of the group and he plays the piano great for the group also!
remember when kevin left? i think their harmonisation got a bit thinner when kevin left..

I just gotta say that it speaks to how little his voice is used that so much of this is either harmonized or background.
which is honestly BS. He’s so incredibly talented he deserves to have so many more solos ):
THANKS... I LOVE KEVIN RICHARDSON AND HER VOICE DONT LISTENING TO MUCH IN BSB IT'S BRILLIANT
Somebody tried to say Kevin doesn't have a strong voice and i'm like IS YOU DEAF
It is just low voice which is why he always does background. He should do lead on a BSB song just once but the producers always favor Nick Brian or AJ.
I admire his belt in I still cuz he can be heard singing some pretty low parts bass parts.
ThemcoversMB bardo look who I found
Wow great voice, he can sing, dance, and is gorgeous!!!

Johnny Cash was a bass-baritone.
@@MultiKamil97 yes and deeper sound in his timbre in low notes than lance
Hes so handsome and i admire him....🥰
Yes, because it's a natural baritone
very very good chorus exelent chool kevin i love you
Beautiful
I want an entire album of him singing christmas music. fuck me up, Kevin.
I'm not able to identify his voice doing the Bass most of times!! Danm it!!
as for Lance Bass, every time he is doing more solo stuff. He is a baritone, Joey Fatone is also a baritone but a higher one
Sorry I can't hear those live C#2 there. C#2 is the lowest note of Movin' On
at 0:38 kev sings an Eb2 and then descends to a C#2 so it is Eb2-C#2
❤❤❤❤❤❤💗💗💗
Não sabia que ele cantava tanto.
After Brian lost his voice, I think Kevin is the best vocalist in the group
His voice really has lasted the best out of everybody in the group if we’re being honest
@@omgxwtfxily Exactly. I feel bad for Brian though. Before he got Vocal Dysphonia, his voice was aging really well too
For me, BSB harmony is better than Nsync. I think Lance is mostly flat and ruins it.
Clarice King Indeed!

Definitely, BSB is better in all departments. 💖😍💖💖

So Kevin is a tenor.
