How to Explain Topical Authority with a Bottle, Lid and iPhone?

  • The recording explains the Ranking State concept using three simple objects in the table. The object on the table helps to associate SEO Concepts such as Topical Authority, Ranking State, and Website Ranking Potential to relate to each other. The recording was taken at Krakow Airport while waiting for our planes. It was a pleasure to meet with all these good people one more time and have the best memoirs. Context is the King, rather than the content.
    The holistic SEO Community has grown to over 30.000 people, and meeting with all these good, kind-hearted people was a pleasure. Semantic SEO is the heart of topical authority methodology but is not the only factor. Demonstrating the web pages via visual components, brand, and source context is vital. The Semantic search engines work via hybrid methodologies. They balance PageRank, Brand Connection, and attribution with information quality and responsiveness. Every website has a potential limit for its top ranking. It means that if a search engine tries to give more weight to a specific SERP feature or certain types of websites, and if you are not in the particular cluster, even if you have the best semantic relevance and accuracy, you still won't be able to reverse your ranking state.
    Thus, serviceability matters, or demonstration and the type of the brand matter for being connected with the specific query network. If a query network focuses on "application", a bank can rank with a simple application button without any supporting web page or a topical map by relying on its own brand authority, relevance, and branded search demand. Search engines are designed to remove doorway pages or middle steps between the first and last queries. If a user is satisfied with a simple button, it means that any web page without a specific button is not good enough.
    From the Google patents, it is possible to understand this context possible.

    - Individual documents and word and word phrases are associated by the relative correlation strength to individual categories. A scoring engine (not shown) references the association strengths to determine a composite score based on the search query and category matches for use by the search engine

    - Although text matching may yield relevant results, essential text matching suffers several drawbacks. First, the search query terms are treated literally, and other relevant Web content may be overlooked or omitted. Similarly, search query terms or phrases may have different senses, resulting in an ambiguous search query. The score or rank only quantitatively reflects the match's goodness and not the game's quality. For example, a search engine could identify several documents responding to a search query requesting "35 mm Camera.” However, only those documents substantively relating to particular camera models versus camera accessories or film supplies would be qualitatively better matches.

    Koray, do you have any insight into what to do if the latest round of Google updates hurt a domain’s search traffic significantly? I’m interested in how you’d approach this within the context of the methods you discuss.

    In other videos, you said that not all pages must be the highest quality.
    Also, for signaling quality, you have to use quality nodes.
    For an average student, what would be your recommendation? How to prioritize quality across the semantic content network?
    Thank you for all you do Koray.

      The pages that are linked from the homepage should be the most quality pages which are quality nodes.

    I took your course and 1 constructive feedback I'd like to share:
    Instead of saying the simplest form or the most common form of a word / meaning you always use the most complex jargons.
    Instead of using water, he'd say:
    an inorganic compound with the chemical formula H₂O. It is a transparent, tasteless, odorless, and nearly colorless chemical substance, and it is the main constituent of Earth's hydrosphere and the fluids of all known living organisms.

    Koray Please answer, I forgot to ask one question, Does Entity Based SEO matters now in 2024? which InLinks Guys promotes a lot? you have also wrote one post in their site...or entity based seo is same as Semantic SEO ? thank you so much

      It is a different naming for semantics in SEO. Yes, it matters. But I suggest you to stay away from commercial cooperations who support a financial agenda in SEO.

    Very Good Explanation, You often say to have as less pages and if query doesn't have search demand you should'nt create pages for it which makes sense.What would be you suggestion for discovery content, a website frequently churning out listicles will it dilute ranking of other pages(important organic) as many of these have no search demand but do good on google discover.

    • @TopicalAuthority
      @TopicalAuthority  4 месяца назад

      Evergreen content ranks on Google Discover too. But for complete newsworthy domains, try to consolidate all the news or Google Discover focused content under a single sub-folder. If these articles are not bringing anymore Discover traffic, you can consolidate them to the evergreen safe web pages from another subfolder after long term.

    • @akshat6107
      @akshat6107 4 месяца назад

      @@TopicalAuthority Yes, that make sense but what if you have lot of discover content that just cant be consolidated.Like if i website is about golf equipment but for discovery content it also uses famous golf players, etc random gossips which have no search demand but performs good for discover and cant be consolidated to evergreen. Should I delete such pages after they no longer perform on discover.

    Really appreciated the visual demo as it sank it so much easier! If you can make time, could you elaborate about the final point about "sometimes you need to put the food list into the same page or a separate page." Was imagining when that occurs and the actual reason for that and not coming up with an answer in my head.

    • @TopicalAuthority
      @TopicalAuthority  4 месяца назад +2

      Topical map consists of web pages, and their macro-context representation. Some food type of entities do not have a contextual domain, thus they shouldn’t be represented in the macro context. Usually, if they don’t have a prominence in terms of connections, or search demand, it is better to include them in another webpage.
