  • Have you given up on wearing false eyelashes? Too messy? They won't stay on? Or maybe you're intimidated and too afraid to try it. I used to be ALL of those things, until I found an application procedure that turned it all around for me: cutting the lash band into 3 pieces and placing the pieces UNDERNEATH my own lashes!
    Supplies used (all are available in your local drugstore):
    Ardell Demi Wispies
    small scissors
    tweezers, bobbypin
    Duo Striplash Adhesive - Dark Tone
    or
    Duo Rosewater & Biotin Striplash Adhesive (brush-on) in White/Clear
    This is a tutorial on how it's done. If you try it, please let me know in the comments how it worked!

    This really worked. Thank you. I kept trying with Falscara, but I hated the feeling and look of glue all over my lashes. This worked much better, soft and fluffy, and the Demi Wispies look much better than the too-long clusters that come with Falscara. I'm 52 and feeling flirty with my lashes on. I didn't need any eyeshadow with this look, instant eye lift. POW! Thanks Mindy!

      I tried Falscara too. But the glue was difficult to get off my lashes, which meant I had to keep using micellar water, or cream eye makeup remover, etc! And all that rubbing made me lose lashes. The Duo glue is much, much better I think!! Thanks for watching, and for letting me know you tried it! It makes my heart happy! ❤️

      @@mindyoverfifty My heart is happy too! Woke up with lashes this morning. I sleep on my side and use a silky sleep mask, and they were perfect this morning. Please share, what remover do you like when it's time to remove? I have the kind that you need to shake to mix, Target brand, and the Falscara remover.

      @@desert_netta I use Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover Lotion. It’s in a blue tube. If you can’t find it at your local store you can get it on Amazon. It’s hydrating. First I pull off the lashes (they come off so easy), then massage the Neutrogena remover lotion in, and wipe with a tissue. If any gunk is still remaining, I use some micellar water on a cotton round to remove. Then wash my face & real lashes.

    Can't wait to try this technique. I just tried putting on the adhesive eyelashes and failed at that too! My tweezers stuck to the adhesive & I couldnt get them off without destroying the eyelash. I must have 50 pairs of false eyelashes and thought maybe if I learned a new technique it would be easier to get them on and that's how I came across you. Thank you for being over 50, you look fabulous and thank you for talking in a slow calm voice. I really have the confidence to do it now using the under lash technique. 50 pairs of eyelashes in the house and not one drop of glue. What's a woman over 50 to do!!

    Thanks for doing this video. I ripped out a patch of my lashes on the right eye with an eyelash curler a few months back and have resorted to using false lashes. I have been trying the underneath technique for the past month as the "normal" method was hopeless as I have no coordination.
    I was that kid in kindergarten that had the craft glue taken away. Applying the lashes as a single twisty strip has resulted in glue everywhere - my tweezers, lashes, vanity, my fingers, even my bangs 😆
    I will try cutting the strip into sections as you did in the video so I have more control.

    • @mindyoverfifty
      @mindyoverfifty  2 года назад +1

      Oh my goodness! I know what you mean about coordination; everyone else makes it look so easy to just pop on that whole strip lash. I could not get it on for the life of me. Glue everywhere. And frustration that wouldn’t let up.
      The small sections are so much easier to place! And the drugstore brands are inexpensive. You don’t feel guilty cutting them in 3 pieces! Let me know how it goes, won’t you?

    another quick question, Mindy: do you have mascara on your lashes before you attach the false ones? Also, I am going to try your brand of lashes - the ones I have purchased so far have been too long and they look awful. They hit my eyebrow and look really horrid. I guess I don't have enough lid real estate! LOL. What to do?

    • @mindyoverfifty
      @mindyoverfifty  Год назад

      Once in a while, I do put mascara on first. But if I do, my false lashes don’t seem to stay on as long. And since I wash my face, but not my lashes, I feel like with mascara on them, they get “gunky” faster. My fave are Demi Wispies. They’re very light and the inside corner is shorter than the outside corner. And I always have to trim off the outside corners-the lash strip is always too long. I’m like you, I can’t wear those really long or heavy styles. They look so unnatural and they’re uncomfortable. Try the demi’s, I bet you’ll love them!

    • @lesliestager5826

      @@mindyoverfifty Thanks, I will try the wispies. I rewatched the video and haven't had time to get to Target to get the wispies. I'm struggling to figure out how to wear eye shadow with my wrinkly eyes. I will watch your videos on this too. Your makeup is gorgeous. Once I can try Seint, I will, but right now, I can't spend the $$. I do like creme foundation and use the cover girl version right now - aqua something or other. You can do Seint cosmetics in stages! I encourage ladies to start with the basic palette- 4 (a main, a brightener, a contour, and either a bronzer or a lip/cheek). With a palette 4 and one brush it will run around $100. You can use your existing blush, lipstick, eye shadows, etc. until they run out, then replace them with Seint a little at a time! How do you take off your mascara without damaging or removing the false lashes?

    • @mindyoverfifty
      @mindyoverfifty  2 года назад +2

      I don’t use mascara on my top lashes, I only wear the false lashes on them. They’re dark enough that I don’t need mascara on them. I only use mascara on my bottom lashes, and remove it with Nutrogena eye makeup remover.

    • @mindyoverfifty
      @mindyoverfifty  2 года назад +5

      And I find that, with the falsies being glued underneath my top lashes, that they don’t get moved around, etc. I use micellar water and a-tips or cotton rounds to remove my eye makeup, followed by regular cleansing of my face. I literally can leave these lashes on for 2-3 weeks! But once in a while I need to pull a piece of the falsie lash off, remove glue, place another bead of glue on it, and stick it back on. So easy!

      @mindyoverfifty  2 года назад

      Hi! I remove my eye makeup with remover or micellar water and a disposable cotton round and/or q-tips. When I wash my face, I don’t touch the lashes with soap. When my eyes are closed, the edges of the eyelash strips are covered by my eyelids, so they don’t get disturbed! If I get the lashes wet, I just dry them very carefully. Once in a while, one of the lash sections will loosen. I just remove that section, remove the glue from it, apply new glue, and stick it back on. So easy to “maintain” them!
