- Requested review of my Birkin 35 Potiron with Palladium hardware.
***NOTE: The Birkin is not generally that hard to cinch up and close, but I was trying to do it while facing away from me, which proved to be much more difficult than I had anticipated! After the video ended, I turned it towards me and it cinched right up. Figures! Ha!!

Of all the birkins I've seen seen.....this by far is my absolute favorite. YOUR BIRKIN IS PERFECTION!

Great review Robyn red key Cleu I would recommend protecting the palladium plate with any cell size screen protector just cut out the piece and apply it to plate adds more value if you ever ever decide to re sell !

At last someone with a healthy attitude towards the Birkin! It is a very expensive and sought after bag, but after all... a handbag. So it's wonderful that you use it, enjoy it and put it wherever it suits you. Way to go, girl!

I love the color, my favorite handbag in my collection is the Louis Vuitton Speedy Empriente 30 in the lovely Orient color which is a gorgeous shade of orange. Great review on this bag.

Robyn, I really like your vibe, you are GREAT at explaining everything: you nailed the Birkin perfectly! It's funny what we put up with in our bags, once we decide to fork over small fortunes for them, i.e. the heaviness of the Birkin, and the limited way to carry them , not to mention the difficulty in locking it!!! Mags is sure a beauty, though!!!!

Thank you so much for this video, I've long been an admirer of the fabled Hermes Birkin and thought I'd hunt out a review or two now that I can make my admiration a reality.
I hadn't realised a Birkin could be heavy and that does play a factor in any handbag I own as I do cart a lot around with me depending on my day.
I also loved what you said about her being 'just a bag' as it's easy to get caught up in the hyperbole of 'Birkinese' 😉
I also name my bags so it's great to hear that someone else does that too, although I do have to add (as a Brit who grew up whilst Maggie lived at No.10) that for your Birkin to be a real Margaret Thatcher she'd have to be Tory blue 😉
Personally I think Queen Elizabeth is perfect for your Birkin; long live your queen 👍🏼

Yes, Birkins are heavy when empty, so filled...well, they can be a bit much. So I am very careful in how I pack it, and use my LV Damier Azur pieces because the makeup pouch is small so I can't cram it full of 7 different lipsticks, 4 different lip glosses...what, only me? LOL!!
That said? Totally worth it. I love that bag with my whole heart. :D

Having Val around makes me very happy, but she's a bag, and she knows her place .... I LOVE this video, and I felt more at ease with my sanity after it than I did necessarily, before. Thank you for that. :)

The Neiman Marcus one I bought last Christmas and it's not lined. I'm sure it must be real because it's Neiman Marcus!! Right? Lol. Great review you were very down to earth and not snobbish about owning a Birkin. It is a bag but a beautiful bag. I'm in the market to purchase one. My biggest question is are you afraid of being mugged or robbed. I think most people have no clue about what a Hermes or Birkin is. Do you take it to PTA meetings? Is it your everyday bag or will I need armed security guards to carry one.

Excellent B Hun! The colour is to die for! I actually laughed out loud when u talked about placing her on the floor. The first time I walked into a Hermès boutique to enquire about the B I wanted to get there was a Arabian lady, very well dressed and posh looking who put her B on the floor and the exact same thing happened to her, the SA gave her a really bad look only that he actually said to her " madam, would u like to put your Birkin here?" I just didn't know how to react given that it was only myself and this lady at the boutique at that moment. When she left, the SA made quite unpleasant comments about it. I think I have watched this video at least 10 times just because of how thorough it is, fantastic review! I am planning on investing in one for my mother on her 50th. I am glad the Chevre de Coromandel is much more sturdy and structure prone than the Togo! I was looking at a LV key holder for myself actually, do you think it's a good substitute for a wallet for an 'on the go' kind of day?

aquahot I do like the Kelly, but for some reason I only really like it in black. I love my Birkin in orange, but don't feel the same about the Kelly. And I prefer Retourne over Sellier. Will I ever have one? Possible, but not overly probable. If I ever decided to part with that much for a handbag, I would be more inclined to spend a bit more and get another Birkin. That said, I wouldn't mind a vintage Kelly some day. :D

Ok, once upon a time they used to have unlined pockets, but now they are all lined. I can't give you an exact year that it changed over, but I am positive that it's been in the last 10 or so years. :)

Nice review! I can't make up my mind on a size 30 or 35 for my first (& most likely only) Birkin! I'm usually a light packer so a size 30 seems a better choice given the Birkin is a pretty heavy bag but I like the height of the size 35. 30 seems a bit short & my height is 5"5. What is your advice? TIA! :)
Hey! I personally like a bigger bag, so my choice will always be a 35. And I think that you could carry off that size at your height. Weight-wise, they aren't too dissimilar until you fill them. If you pack light, you should be fine with the 35. But if you realize that you have made a mistake in size, keep in mind that you will have zero trouble selling it to repurchase your dream bag. :) I hope that helps!
