You have inspired me! My daughter suffers from severe depression and needed help cleaning and organizing her home. I went there yesterday and the day before and helped her out. She has an appointment with psychiatrist who hopefully will help her.

The armchair cleaners can say anything negative they want, Barbie you are the one tackling the mess and you do a great job, ignore them.
My experience is that, just having someone else there with me in my house helping makes more motivated because I am accountable to that person. When it’s just me, it can all seem too overwhelming to even begin.

True. I just watched some lady that has to have everything white and perfect. She took all the food and paper towels out of packages so they would look perfect in glass storage containers. Must be exhausting.

If we help each other, we generally do not "do it all." We expect something of each other, as a way of showing appreciation, ownership and promise for the future.

What you're doing for "free" is priceless, IMO because if someone came to my home and helped me I would do whatever I could, whether paying for a taxi or giving money, cooking and providing protective equipment and clothing, cleaning equipment....anything because i think anybody would be incredibly grateful for your help.

I know I’m viewing this months after it was posted but I am amazed at each of your videos I see. You are helping these residents be able to care for their homes by showing them it’s not that hard if they do a little as they go. The resident did a great job on their living room and that portion of the bathroom. I believe you are a miracle worker in a way to accomplish what you do with your own money, supplemented occasionally by the gifts given by the people you help. Hi Barbie - You can make your own Dawn power wash - To make 16 ounces, you will need 13 ounces water, 2 ounces blue Dawn, and 1 ounce rubbing alcohol. Reuse the original container the power wash came in. Also, I have noticed that the powder/dry Barkeepers Friend works much better than the liquid form. Thanks for the videos!

You did great! My mum teach me to make the underground a little wet before spraying.For example in the bathtub or anywhere in the bathroom.I dont know why,but a little bit of water and product work better than just spray it on "dry".Thats my Tipp and maybe it helps someone.Have a nice day,peace

Another great video. I liked the part where you said the owner felt shame over the condition of his place. My kids told me the best thing I taught them was shame, not to judge but to try harder and then to feel pride in a job well done. Things can escalate pretty fast in a house, at least in mine. @@cleanwithbarbie yes! If you're not afraid of someone's greasy houses, why should I be afraid of my own lovely house? Lol. All I use is a bucket with hot water, dish soap, Chlorox bleach to clean everything. Plus Oven degreaser in the kitchen. For the floors you can bring your own floor squeegee, ask an owner for an old towel, wet it in the hot water bucket with dish soap, bleach or Comet, put it on squeegee and never wash it with your hands.

loved seeing the drill attachment..great idea..got me thinking about the hard water crud in my shower ...maybe I could get me one of these! A good cleaning tip from another cleaning show, to save on cleaning products..use two buckets, one with soapy water, and one with plain water..dip and wring out mop in plain water first..then the mucky bucket you have to keep replenishing is only water, not product.

Beautiful, Barbie! There is a mop that you can get at a big box hardware store that allows you to screw down two folded lengthwise face towels, that I get from a Goodwill type store. It gives you a clean mop for every client. There is no scrubby part, so you still have to deal with that. But now you have a clean mop for every client. ❤

Excellent job! Those little smiley faced sponges didn't work for me when I used them on a house I had cleaned 6 years ago. They just fell apart on the second day! Have they made them stronger nowadays? I only used them in the kitchen to wash dishes!!

That man must have so appreciated having a lovely clean apartment to live in again- it must lift the mood.
I would ask if I could put the shower curtain in the washing machine - you can hang it up straight away if there’s no balcony to dry it.
We have a product called Ajax in Australia- it’s a dry powder you sprinkle on wet bath then it makes a paste which is slightly abrasive. Very good for dirty baths.
Most of the New York apartments don’t own washing machines
@@cleanwithbarbie I thought so. So difficult to get washing done as you have to go to a laundromat (now there’s a depressing place).
We have Ajax here in the USA also, but there is a similar cleaner called Comet which is more commonly used. So you might see Comet on cleaning videos from here, more than Ajax. Comet has bleach; Barkeeper's friend, which is also sold as a powder, is acid-based, which is good for removing limescale. So people usually choose one or the other.
That bathroom clean was awesome!
