Why is everyone assuming the first two DLC characters are releasing the same day? Just because they both have the window of "summer 2025" doesn't mean they share the same date. it very well could mean one releases in early summer while the other releases in late summer. SNK has even done this before. For KoFXV season 2, both Sylvie and Najd had their release window set for Summer 2023.

Kim's sons. It makes sense. 5 is an odd number for DLC. Had it been like KOF XV with 6, I would have agreed.
@@PharoahsKingdom Sure, except I've heard SNK has seperated the sons before. and outside of that idea, there really isn't any logic or sense to make to say they would release at the same time compared to say one releasing in late May -early June and the other in August.
Also how is 5 an odd number for DLC? Why would suddenly squeezing a sixth character in the year suddenly make it better? If they did so, you'd only double the amount of people claiming so because you'd have two sets of dlc sharing a release window. If anything them having 5 characters in the pass simply points to one of two things. either they'd be finishing work on a character they couldn't manage in time for the base release. or that they could keep a pace of releasing 5 characters a year. And both of those sound much more likely than releasing two characters at once.

Guests won't happen so early, Oda said in interviews while they're not out of question its not something on their current plans. So if it does happen it will be late season two or season 3.
Also I hope that, if they decide to add any SF guest, that they don't pick Ryu.
Ryu is going to be bad because he is too basic to fit this gameplay system. His moveset can't make good use of the mechanics. His typical "Ryu playstyle" was not meant to work well in a game that has JD, air JD, JD reversal, ground roll, and dodge counter.
Speaking of shotos, Ken and Akuma are much better options because of their flashier style and higher combo potential. Oh and I'm already excluding Evil Ryu or Violent Ken because they would look too unfitting in FF.
Anyways I'm more inclined to types like Chun Li and Cammy, unless it's not possible to use their SF6 moveset for some reason. Their old versions are not good for FF too.
Ps: And I admit I'm biased for SF veterans here. I'm an old schooler who knew all these games in their early versions, and in this highly special occasion I would never support that a guest char slot to be used by any SF newcomer from the modern (3d) era. Maybe Juri just for her popularity...😊 but no other exception.

The fact that this DLC is free make me think those 5 characters are just "delayed characters" from base roster.
For the last 6, I also think Gato, Hokutomaru, Kain, Andy and Joe are in. Last one might be Yamazaki
As for the free DLC, first 2 are probably the Kim bros, I can imagine Sokaku, the new boss (Rock's mother?) and another female character (Mary?)
For paid year 2, I imagine the Capcom character(s), bankable Krauser, Yuri and Duck.

Yeah, and Freeman was mentioned in Kevin's story as the reason he's entering. I can't see them leaving him out of the first year(as in launch or S1, he could be S1 I think.) Especially since they're on record as saying they wanna hit MotW plot threads, and this game is a sequel to MotW. I think he's a logical choice if anything for launch or S1? I think we'll get the full MotW cast in the game sooner than later myself. I was surprised to see him not on this list anywhere in fact given it was a speculation roster, since he seemed to me like a very very high chance given his plot thread status and being directly mentioned.

If there's a chance for Buriki One, it's got to be Gai. No one else, and most likely nothing else from the game. FF won't have a big roster, the devs must be very mindful of the choices.

I agree Nabil, Duck King should definitely be in the launch roster and I hope they base him on how he is in KOF11 because that is his best version so far in any game he has been in.
Ok that you seem to like him, but I don't see any reason why he "should" be in the initial roster. It's a small roster and there are many different sources to explore. MOTW roster + newcomers + most popular classic veterans + mild classic FF veterans + Real Bout newcomers + maybe AOF chars + maybe 1-2 guest chars.
More or less the same balanced roster formula for "revival games" that was popularized by SF4 and then used by the new Samsho, Soul Calibur 6, etc.
@@carlosaugusto9821 He should be in the roster because not only has he been neglected by SNK for way too long now but also because he is one of the coolest characters in not just fighting games but in anything to ever have characters. Not to mention Duck King is extremely popular among fans of the Fatal Fury series so it's not just me that wants him back!

I would be surprised if Kain was the end boss of the game again. So the last character might be a new character and the last challenge of this Fatal Fury.
Well get ready to be disappointed. When they first announced it at EVO 2023, they released 2 concept arts. 1- Rock with 2 silhouettes on the background (looking like Billy Kane and Kain) and 2- Terry/Joe/Andy. When asked about the characters on the concept art, they said ALL of them will be in the game, so far we got Rock, Terry, and Billy. Meaning Joe, Andy, and possibly Kain (silhouette might be someone else) are 3 of the last 6 to be revealed.
A new character... or Geese Howard. At first I didn't believe in this possibility, but as time passes, the more clues emerge and the more I change my mind. They even confirmed that RB2 is a canon game, when all these years everyone thought it wasn't due to the presence of Geese and Krauser.
Why wouldn't Kain be the final boss again? He wasn't defeated and he succeeded in his plans to make Second South Town an independent city-state which likely thrived off the violence he grew up witnessing. The story is about Geese Legacy unless they pull a twist and Marie is the true mastermind. He could conclude the Howard connection and Geese storyline, maybe pave the way for Savage Reigns storyline to begin
@@thesilentsociety3252 Of course Kain was defeated. At the end of MotW Rock had him on his knees and was about to give him the finishing blow. The only reason Rock didn't break him in two is that Kain knows where Marie Heinelein is. As a sub-boss ok, but I doubt he will be the main threat of the game again.
@@VindrowsI mean Geese survived falling from the tower and came back two more times, not sure Rock could’ve done anything equally as bad, though I do wonder if his Dark Palace is still there or if he destroyed it, given Vox's stage looks like it takes place in a ruin version of Grant. Plus release trailer did have something like a different type of throne in Geese Tower when we see Terry & Rock, curious if that has anything to do with Rock inheriting Geese's legacy.

Beyond thinking it'd be cool for her to fight other TKD practitioners, I think Juri would actually be a cool Capcom guest character in CotW for popularity reasons - I didn't realize how popular she was in Japan until I saw a tweet from the Capcom Store in Japan with all sorts of merch from her webcomic. Also, they made a webcomic.
Chun would also be cool to see because she’s always set as a “friendly rival” to Mai
As long as my favorite character Hokutumaru is in Garou: City of the Woves.
I really hope they do Duck King justice if they plan to include him. On paper seems like a top tier character to pick, but never quite picked up. If they do, I hope they make him a combo monster!
Wow three years, really? I was worried this was just gonna be a small budget title in between KOF releases. I vastly prefer Garou to KOF so extremely hyped about this.
Edit: No Blue Mary? Seriously? lol.
Though 3 dlc packs is more or less affordable for most famous franchises. KOF didn't get 3 (technically) but the latest SS did.
Now 4 is just for a very few fgs with above average success and budget (except only MK, that ends early). Only SF, TK and GG reached that so far among veteran franchises.

honestly i dont really care who is on the roster as long as andy hokutomaru and kain are there day 1 thats all i want.
i wish some Kim character, of course Mary and Yamazaki, and i bet since there is confirmation of Art of Fighting i think Ryo will be in the game in the last season as a guest character since he was in Fatal Fury Special, or maybe they change for Robert or Takuma this time. But Fatal Fury has so many good characters to fill the hoster, Bob Wilson, Franco Bash and my favorite kof character Xiangfei.
I hope Alice Garnet Nakata will come back since KOF14. She is the Fatal Fury character from Pachinko.
Though no one really wants it, i'm EXTREMELY certain that Geese will be one of the final DLC. All the setup has been there for decades. The initial subplot of the game being about the scrolls... Geese finally getting them, reading them, and dating they do nothing (you can't test them if you're still alive)... and his ending in Real Bout 2. Though games have non-canon endings, this one blatantly screams Geese's fate. And also explained Nightmare Geese. If they don't ressurect Geese, however, I wouldn't mind; outside of Mochizuki, Fatal Fury's always been grounded in "realism". People fighting with skill and ki. No supernatural or sci-fi stuff. That's always been King of Fighters.
You know who i want as DLC in game for nostalgia purpose's Laocorn Gaudeamus, Jamin, Hauer and Panni!
Remember the first dlc season is free, meaning sf characters are not in there cause capcom needs to be paid for the dlc

The last character is probably new since every other returning character was hinted at prior to being revealed.
Kim bros are DLC #1 and #2 bc same release window. Freeman is probably #3-#5 as the last MotW character not in the game.
The last two wave one DLC characters could be anyone, but Laurence Blood and Duck King were both directly hinted at in Terry's trailer, so I say them.

I think Duck King, Rick Strowd, Blue Mary, and Yamazaki all have higher chances for being DLC (albeit Season 2 probably) than Krauser. Not that I have anything against him, I would love to see him back, but I think he'll be saved for late DLC
I also think we don't get 2 SF chars this season, especially if it was supposed to be the base roster as assumed

My friend, I believe that the lines you believe to be a teenager Hokutomaru in the trailer are in fact Andy's.
It's not. Hokutomaru literally says that line when he does his his kick super in mark of the wolves. Aney has never said that line in any of his movies. And it makes sense since he's 16 in this game.

I tend to not speculate too much an exact number because I still expect new characters to come to the series.

Ryu and Ryo would be wasted slots as Kushnood's moveset is built specifically to be the pinnacle of the shoto archetype. Also I wouldn't be so sure that CotW will have guests and new characters among the dlcs.

Edit: To add, Blue Mary imo should be in Season 1 DLC. She is such a fan favorite and if SNK wants Money. I'd say Blue Mary, Krauser and Geese Howard should be DLC. "Dead" or not look at Tekken 8 with Heihachi. Heihachi was supposed to be "dead" but Harada himself said that Heihachi is such a fan favorite main stay and it would be a mistake to have a Tekken game without Heihachi and of course money. If M.Bison and Heihachi are back and it's 2024 and for How many times these characters have died. It would be a mistake to NOT have Geese and Krauser in COTW. Blue Mary, Krauser and Geese = Money.
Also as for a new character idea. I would love to see the girl in Jae Hoon's winpose who runs in and gives him his drink to be an actual fighter since she is also a Student of TaeKwonDo.
Considering that the first Season Pass is a gift and that the game is sold at a budget price (so for the price of a normal game you get the first 2 season passes), it is not a big problem that the Kim Bros will be dlcs.
Maybe Juri will come from sf6 as Kim’s rival 🤷🏻♂️

In addition to the Kim Bros, another fairly safe DLC is Freeman. The 3 of them would be the only MotW characters not to be present in the base game, together with Grant (who however should have been replaced by Vox Reaper).

Geese will be back 100% whether people like it or not. And nothing can be done about it. Popular character and can easily fit in as a nightmare, if they wanna keep his death intact. I laugh at people thinking SNK would do any less. Billy seems way too relaxed it shows the kingpin is cooking something up and little boy Rock “this is for you Terry” Howard Isn’t ready for it.

Here is who I think are the next characters: Gato, Freeman, Kim Kaphwan's twin sons & Gato's Pops being one of the sub bosses but he will be playable & Kain. The DLC's will be 2 of the OC characters from the planned sequel that didn't happen, Yamazaki & Krauser

Ok. If they are in then their story should center around them going after Freeman. To my understanding, Freeman was the one that gravely injured Kim after Kim kicked his ass, so THIS needs to be their story focus unlike they did in the 1st MOTW

I bet Geese will be in dlc pass 2. Otherwise snk is giving away money. Same with capcom characters. Since the first 5 dlc are included with the base game. It's practically free.

Unfortunately with Andy, Joe, Kain, Gato and Hokutomaru in my opinion the basic roster can be said to be complete. Kain lost too badly to Rock in MotW to be repurposed as villain, so the 17th slot will definitely be the final boss. Which could be Geese, Marie Helenein or her bodyguard/jailor, or someone completely new.
I think there Will be an sf character, but just 1 and that should be ryu, another character i would love to see in they DLC is ryo sakazaki, imagine grand Master ryu vs Mr karate 2, that would be great, now i don't know which other characters could be within the DLC, i think the kaphwan kids Will be in the launch roster and it would be interesting to see Andy but i don't know tbh

KOF had 2 regular dlc seasons, and really looked like it could get a 3rd one, which Samsho got btw... and FF is looking like it's going to do much better than it, so I believe that 3 year estimation makes sense. It's not out of SNK's reality.

I gotta be honest with you, i don't want Street Fighter characters in the game. There's plenty of good picks from SNK alone to add and a bunch of good ones won't even make it because of the roster size, so i would hate to let even more outside just to add Street characters.

I'm not convinced yet about the Kim father, because of the high similarities with Jae Hoon's moveset. And redundant chars of that kind must not continue existing in fgs, especially as dlc.
I like Kim father a lot but I can't support his presence in this particular game.

I think there will be one more newcomer on the base roster. We may also see another newcomer on season one, along with the Kim brothers and Freeman, as well as Nightmare Geese (its a given that he will return in some form or another so his Nightmare form is a safe bet).
