Attending graduation ceremonies in the UK is a great experience. Such ceremonies are organised well in advance and mark the glorious the fact that ''you have really done it''..If you have never seen a graduation ceremony of a British university, this short video simply summarizes what is happening in the hall: Arrival of the Vice Chancellor; Music; Announcement of the four PhD graduates of the department of Education (including me), University of York; shaking hands and receiving the degrees; speech of the Vice Chancellor; lots of applause and the closure of the ceremony..

Erdem, I congratulate you for receiving your PhD four years ago. It was a lot of hard work and time consuming, but you did and you should be very delighted. I graduated with my Master's degree in Classical Studies at the OU last September and I went to the Barbican Centre in London to pick up my degree.
