The quality of those photos is just amazing, my guess it that the next step of smartphone photography would be that the Camera app basically does all the workflow you did but it does it for you maybe with some settings or presets but I thing that would be great. Basically like next gen filters, that can change a lot of things fast and give you this cinematic look.

I'm also trying to figure out how to to the best photo shoot possible with just my 13 Pro. I need to rewatch this but in summary, was there a lens or ISO combo that performed particularly well? Hey David - I've been leaving my sony a7r2 behind a lot more and just focussed on mastreing my iphone13 pro - I have a question for you - Why do you elect to shoot raw rather than pro-raw? Pro-raw seems to consistently push out higher dynamic ranges (obviously because it brackets photos itself) - and thus often has less noise to contend with. Sure I can't manually control camera settings, but when I go out to do photos, I find my proraw ones get me better shots more of the time. I'm sure this could be a failing on my part, so would love to hear your thoughts.

I feel like the iPhones pictures are more comparable to pictures from an actual DSLR than most android phones, while some of the Samsung flagships and others may take better images in the default camera app and have more pixels, somehow the iPhone always produces the more natural and more "editable" (hope you know what I mean) images, like, with some editing they can turn out really great... While on Samsung phones even with apps for raw recording I feel like there is to much processing done and the images get less natural

@@David_Addison Yeah, I used the wrong word. That is true, but my point is that it eventually becomes a photoshop demonstration, you post-processed so much that you could have got the same result almost with any smartphone. I am not saying that the final result and photoshoot were not good. I am saying that the final results are good independently of using an iPhone 13 pro max because of photoshop. Sure, garbage in garbage out, so having good starting material is essential, still I believe that with this post-process you flatten any difference with smartphone. The overall message to me is: if you are good with photoshop you can get pro-level portraits regardless shooting with a smartphone! Until you do not print, of course! ;) So, to me this is a photoshop demonstration more than a photoshoot one ;)
