- This beautiful song by "Minnie Riperton" was recorded in 1974 and released in 1975, and it made number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S and number 2 in the UK charts.. This is yet another great singer who was taken far too early in life as she died at the age of 31 from breast cancer... i lost someone close to me a number of years ago to Breast cancer so i know very well just how devastating this cancer in particular can be.. The footage here was all filmed close to my home in North Devon, with the first clip being Saunton Sands, the second clip being in Ilfracombe, and the Third clip in Fremington... Am off to bed shortly as it's quite late here in the Philippines and i need to be up early, so i will wish you all a good night...

Sad that we still have these killer diseases now in the twenty-first century, baffling modern science and causing untold grief among the rest of us. Most of us know someone cruelly taken from us by this disease. Lovely upload, Carl - a big thumbs up from me.
It is Vic, cancer is one of them things you just never know when it's gonna turn up, and in who.. My father died of prostate cancer back in 1998, and he suffered quite a bit, but he was a brave man right to the end, and he got himself up from his hospital bed when he only had days left, and went home and walked through his front door to die.. Thanks for that thumbs up Vic, really appreciate that.. Have a good weekend there...

I have always adored this song by the late very talented Minnie Riperton .... the voice of an angel taken way too soon. So sorry to read that you too lost someone close to you from breast cancer, my heart goes out to you dear Carl. Your videos are always very special. The footage is breathtakingly beautiful and very serene ..... suits the feeling of the song very well. I would have missed this one if I hadn't received notification through Neil (ms) sharing it. Hi Lorraine, sorry for the late reply, but you know my life story, not enough hours in the day to do all the things i want to do lol.. Yes i have actually lost quite a few close family members and friends to cancer over the years, and it never gets easier seeing people close to you suffering, and sometimes they really are, physically and emotionally.. So pleased you enjoyed the video here, i love using footage i have filmed myself and adding music to it.. Songs sometimes brings the footage alive, and sometimes it's the footage that works best, but it's even better when both the footage and song works equal to each other, like i think they do in this video.. Thanks Carol, it is a beautiful song and the footage i filmed really don't do the areas Justice, one has to be there to take in the real beauty.. She was a very good singer Cristina, it's a shame she never had more success than she did, but she was diagnosed with Cancer quite a few years before she died, but she carried on with her life even though she was terminally ill, i think that's the best way for anyone to handle Cancer, just try and carry on the best you can.. Devon is a great county Steve, and i much prefer North Devon to South Devon, and not just because that's where my home is, as i have spent much time in both, but it's just my opinion, it's so scenic there.. Yeah Cancer is a bad thing full stop, you just never know when it's gonna show it's ugly face.. Yeah was sad to hear about your cat dying, one can become very attached to their pets, and they actually become part of the family, and i have said it before and i will say it again, but i actually prefer the company of some animals compared to some people, no names mentioned though lol, have a good one mate, catch ya later...

Oh how I enjoyed this song. When Minnie died, I couldn't believe it because her song was so full of life and love. Was around 25-26 when this came out and it certainly brings back a memory of someone which ended as a love and lost episode...
Yeah so many people die so young, and i also remember very well when this lady died, it came as quite a shock, and when you listen to this song one tends to remember people who we have lost to cancer.. Many thanks for your comment...

Yeah this is not a song one hears that often on the radio, but i just love this song so thought i would make this video up for it.. So pleased you enjoyed the video, all the places i filmed here are all beautiful places to visit, and to be honest all of North Devon is so scenic, and personally i think Devon is the best place to live in England, it's a bit warmer than the rest of the country too..
