- This great song by "Dionne Warwick" which just happens to be one of my all time favourite songs, and sung by one of my all time favourite singers, was a top ten hit for her in 1964.. I think this lady is just a fantastic singer and she still sounds as good today as she did back in the 60's.. She has recorded many great songs over the years and this one is right at the top of my favourites...

my sister was born in 64 and mum loved Dionne Warwick. I was born in 66, and dad loved....don't ask ;-)))) so lucky we're all still here ;-)

I don't remember very many other love songs quite as "haunting" as this one. The combination of these particular collaborators at that particular moment on a certain day turned out to be nothing short of magical. If this song doesn't touch you emotionally, you're completely dead inside. Thanks Carl, you helped remind an old man he's still alive.
One of the best records of the 1960s - along with Mary Wells's My Guy!.
My sister played Lisa Dingle on Emmerdale, she used to sing this on our old family piano when she was a drama student and I was a youngster , she had an amazing voice , you’d never know until now , love you Sis .

Pure class, Carl. I saw someone over the weekend from my distant past. WE didn't exactly "walk on by", but it is sad how things often never turn out right ....
Well some things Vic are just not meant to be, especially relationships.. You hear so often people say that they should have worked harder to keep things together, they should have done this, they should have done that, but i don't really believe in that too much, because i am of the opinion if a relationship is gonna work, then it should just happen naturally, and no matter what obstacles get in the way you will overcome them if a relationship is meant to be.. That chemistry thing is the most important thing me thinks, if it ain't there on both sides then just "Walk Away" .. Have a good weekend mate and many thanks for watching...

Beautiful song! 60's and 70's music was the time of the classic songs! I dont even bother listening to any top 40 anymore i quit listening to modern music a long time ago say 30 years lol.. 60s and 70s is where its at!!
Yeah the 1960's was the best decade ever for music and singers, and the 1970's was good, and i quite liked the 1980's too, but after that the music has been all downhill i would say lol.. Many thanks for watching...

Home from work Friday night my pay in my pocket shower, into my 3 piece suit drive in my 1959 Ford Customline to the Top of the Town Cabaret for a nights dancing with the girls. I miss it so much.

Lots of great artists and songs by Dionne, Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Sam & Dave, Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Martha & The Vandellas, James Brown, and so many others. Thanks for taking me back to lots of happy memories!! Gin

Hi Mark, i have always loved this song, and all these years later it still sounds so fresh.. Yeah sad day with Aretha Franklin dying, and i actually have Aretha singing this song, and i was tempted to change this one to Aretha's version at the last minute, but to be honest i did prefer this one, but i do have a few songs by Aretha Franklin on this channel, and i would like to think each one of them was a tribute to her, as she was one special lady, and one of the best soul singers EVER, she will be sadly missed.. When I was a little girl (about 30 yrs ago) my grandmother always had AM790 on which played "Easy Listening" music on it, and I grew up listening to this type of music among-st others such as Glenn Miller and every other big band you can think of, Johnny Mathis, The carpenters, Motown, all the "oldies". I long to find this type of channel on the radio for my own child who is coming on 2. If anyone has any ideas or knows of one, please comment here. And thanks for the video.
Well there are a few shows on BBC Radio 2, "Sounds of the 60's" and another show called "Pick Of The Pops" and both shows plays music from various decades, and they are both really good shows to listen to.. Hope that will be of some help to you... Carl
