He was holding on at the top a bit more tightly becasue in the dress rehersal earlier that day he fell when he made the leap up and was strapped up under that shirt. How he sung live and so well throughout all that was amazing. I think he should have won.
Here it is: THe backsrop is a physical wall that is tilted backwards with an layer of fabric over it that all the videoeffects is projected in. So the climbing he does are steps behind the curtain for him to step on. The tilt we se him in is digitally done. Audience does not see that. Fun fact: It is not easy doing those steps and he slipped during one of the rehearsals having to repeat his number. My favoruite.
