    I was around at the time and to be fair Marc Bolan was one of the only established artists who promoted punk, most of them tried to ridicule it because they were frightened it would signal the end of their careers. I've always respected him for that.

    Oh my god, this takes me back to summer '77, 14 years old, on holiday in England (I'm from the Netherlands), visiting my nephews in London's Norwood Green and listening to their mini-cassette player, playing The Pistols, the Clash, The Stranglers and.. the Jam.. All Around the World was a fresh hit and it changed me and my life.. Away with prog rock and other shit, the door got opened..:-)

    Without question, they were the absolute GREATEST live band I ever saw.....(FWIW, I've also seen Nirvana in 1991, Pearl Jam in 1992, KISS in 1977, U2 in 1981 through 2017, BRUCE! in 1980 & 1985, the La's in 1991, Peter Gabrial in 1983 & 1987, Bad Brains in 1983, The Replacements in 1984, Foo Fighters in a club in 1997, AND The Clash in 1979, 1981, and 1982.....to provide a little context)

      The 1st lineup of the Wipers (who Nirvana contributed a cover for a tribute album).. the only life sample is on 10-29-79.. but what a freight train from three mega-talented musicians). Also the Who in '76... As Entwistle said of that tour, "We could have played forever".

    OMG...saw Marc Bolan in Worcester, Mass, US/ back in 1975/1976...so sorry he's not with us any longer...still LOVE the Jam, Style Council and Paul Weller so this brought back lots of memories

    been a big fan ever since I got a copy of in the city.THE JAM are captured here in their prime. thank you so much.here in america I could walk 10 feet in any direction and not find a person who's even heard of the JAM. I am a true fan. even back in those days my friends (rock fanatics all), didn't quite get this band..but they're in my top ten 10. RICKENBACKERS ROCK!

    I saw these guys at The Glasgow Apollo Theatre just after they released this as a single. When they played this... the audience went WILD... What a band... what a time... what a song...!

    Saw The Jam 30 times and remember making sure I was home from school to watch this. To this day I was so impressed they played live when TOTP was all mimed and I can remember Rick dropping his stick at the end and the look from Paul!!!
    The best band ever!!

    'Marc' was a broundbreaking show for many punk/new wave bands. Jis old mate Bowie premiered Heroes on it in 1977. It was one of my favourite prog's.

    It's amazing Weller and Foxton didn't play together and barely spoke for 28 years following the end of the Jam until Wellers dad and Foxton's wife died within a few weeks of each other in 2010. It must have brought home that lifes too short for that kind of shit. This btw is a great record so exciting and innovative back in 1977.

      @@Urlocallordandsavior he said he was glad it happened at the end of the song, and that he has no idea where the stick went because he remembered catching the tip on something and it flying through the air but can’t remember it coming down!

    I had my jam suite made in a shop at the back of carnaby street and that was were all the major band s of the time used to go and get kitted out and the jam to so my suite was made to measure back in 1978 they were the dayzzs

    I remember seeing this live when I was 17 - really powerful energy from Rick, Bruce & Paul. Marc was totally off his face when he introd the boys. Check out Rick dropping a stick at 2:20 - I remember seeing Paul turning round at Rick. Thanks for posting 😃

    I went a highschool in Phoenix, Arizona in 1979 with 2400 kids. I was the only (hetero) one with singles going steady and village green preservation society. I still listen to 'em almost every day.
