Hi team, thanks for reviewing our video. A few things you’ve called ‘historical inaccuracies’ are not so but are conclusions we’ve drawn from passenger accounts. In the case of funnel 3 collapsing, for instance, we have a survivor’s sketch which depicts the funnel falling. I’m thinking of some way to show this stuff off like an accompanying article on our site.
Hi Mike, no worries at all. I really enjoyed reviewing the video. I might have to look into the sketch to know more about it. A few members have had strong feelings about the funnel falling off the ship as there is a picture from the 1960s showing that the funnels were attached before going underneath the surface. Also, one member of the team believes that from the wreck, the funnels were perfectly lined up as if they collapsed close to the sea floor. However, I am interested in looking into the accounts to see who saw them at the time. I’m looking at further testimonies of the sinking for future Lusitania projects, so if there's more research I never heard about before, I want to understand additional information. I am interested in the fire that is shown between the torpedo impact and when the electricity was cut off. Did it have something to do with a second explosion or was it a separate thing? The team always appreciate what you do Mike and I hope we get a chance to review more videos in the near future. Hope you have a great weekend Mike and take care ☺️ Sez ☺️
"Although time fades and the gray little cells worn out, I can still sit here now and see the liner just sliding beneath the waves" George Henderson quoted 80 years later After he and his family witnessed the sinking from shore.
Hello HIAN, At 1:06:45, you state the torpedo hit boiler room 5, 6, or 7. This is not possible because it didn't have boiler rooms 5, 6, or 7. It only had 1, 2, 3, and 4. BR 1 is towards the bow (where the torpedo most likey hit) while BR 4 is near the stern and was deactivated for the voyage. I hope this helps with orientation.
Cubby and Smokey meows as heard in the video: 1.59:50 (you can hear me say "Smokey, do you want to be a part of this, too?") 2. 1:04:54 (and again, I asked them "You both did it again, did you?") This goes to show that there are some unplanned moments while we film as well.
