A Slash is how I started my "rc rabbit hole" 😁 Just got started a little over a year ago. I too went on ebay and picked up a 2wd that was a little rough. It came with some extras. Now I'm completely hooked!!
I acquired an old Eliminator 10 and plan to back to running condition soon! Also have the Eliminator 12. Great cars and good tips on finding bodies for the wide cars. Saw your part two on this and heard you mention the track in Ft. Collins. I am just a short drive from there. Good restoration and love that color changing paint job on the new body!
I recommend a slow motor to keep yourself in a range of acceleration that is nice I used a vintage black can motor and it was spinning the tires at any speed if I hit it too hard the stock silver can was much nicer and still fast.
Thanks, that is good advice. Due to life circumstances I have yet to race this car but the one time I did drive it was very difficult. It would spin out at almost any throttle range.
@@ClutchTrick a guy gave me that advice and I still think it was good he was racing a formula 1 in a parking lot 20 years ago and there was no need to go crazy he also showed me that there were low powered stock silver can motors that had changeable brushes and more clean able 15$ back then
Before the electric car rc cars used the cox nitro engine bolink at the time named jomack jerobee mrp made first 1\12 rc cars back in 1970 very rare Practically forget for a long time I restore what I can I own more than one I fabric new motorized models with the famous engine Cox go take look i have a bolink sprinter nitro powered runing on vidéo crazy stuf
Cool going retro with a 30 year old car! I bet it will be a fun car. I can see why it is called a pan car, I had never seen a car like this. It does look like you have some good options as you rebuild this car. By then way, you have one of the best channel logo’s! Do you have stickers?
Most carpet oval classes like Busch class which is a national class with same rules is ment to run old or new pan car oval cars and be competitive all run foam tires the cracking and chunking happens when you race.your carpet oval track should have new foam tires for sale and they will help you cut them down as well that helps prevent chunking and cracking I have never had a set on my Busch car crack or chunk legend cars different story
I made the mistake of watching pt.2 of this series,,,,silly of me to think pt1 would be better,,,,,its not a build if you throwing new tires and body on
