Magna Centipede is a tragic one. He used to be one of the 0th Unit, one of their finest. But one day, on a job, Sigma's guys got him, and they erased basically his entire personality to make him join them. Fighting him isn't even a real battle, it's just putting this empty shell of a Reploid out of everyone's misery.
I also like how, if you're standing far enough away from Magna that the Silk Shot doesn't hit him immediately, you can see his eyes widening just before it hits.
It's a nice little touch, I think. Kinda like how if you got really damaged in Chill Penguin's stage in the first game, if you stand still, you can see vapour coming out of X's mouth as he pants.
MAVERICK DATA Subject: Manga Centipede Title: Crimson Assassin Pre-Maverick Occupation: Member of the Maverick Hunter's 0th Special Unit (Shinobi Unit) Bio: Manga Centipede is one of the special covert ops Maverick Hunters that used to work under Zero before his sacrifice during Sigma's uprising. Six months after Sigma's death, Centipede was dispatched to the Central Computer Station to investigate some strange activities before all contacts was lost. Soon afterwards, the station begin transmitting a unknown virus that is causing more Reploids to go Maverick. Disturbingly, all evidence points to Centipede being the culprit.
Interesting bio, but I'm afraid part of that bio is wrong. Magna Centipede was indeed part of the Special 0th unit. But, after Sigma's first death, Centipede was captured by Mavericks and brainwashed into a cold, emotionless killing machine. In other words, he is reprogrammed from good to bad.
one last thing about Magna Centipede's tail if he catch you you'll get poison and get's harder you won't be able to use Charge X-Buster and Moves Slow that you forgot PinkKitty
That second mini boss, if you've been double scanned is INSANELY hard to me with just the x buster. With all the new tools he gets he seems nearly impossible since you can't climb the walls here.
one of the hardest mavericks there is to fight. This guy is a pain with buster only, he has the tail attack, he throws his magnets at you and he can drain your power. Good Job Pink as always I enjoy watching your videos
When Magna Centipede teleported onto the ceiling and you were dodging his spinny spiny things, you could shoot a Silk Shot into the opposite corner to have the smaller fragment go up and hit him, so you wouldn't have to dodge as much and won't have to take the risk of jumping to hit him as he jumps at you.
It's actually pretty easy to get to the extra boss room even if you trigger the alarm. You just gotta hug the right side of the screen while falling and then dash dash dash.
I love watching how everyone that does the Mega Man games on here has different strategies to get them through these stages unscathed. That sword miniboss can be one-shot with a charged Silk Shot, but the Speed Burner did well. Magna's okay with the tail from what I remember since you can jam on the d-pad to break free before an ability gets drained. It was Bubble Crab that gave me issues in a buster-only fight thanks to that shield. Oh, he was annoying.
I don't think you have to be stealthily to get that Heart Tank. I think you can just avoid destroying the block that lets you get up there if you hit the alarm, and then double back after a while when the alarm stops to respawn it back on the ceiling.
That Chop Register is so annoying! You make it look so easy! Also, for some reason, I go to this stage fourth. The power ups are harder to get (but not impossible) without the Speed Burner, but a combination of persistence and maybe some parkour, will allow you to get them without too much hassle.
@@clonetrooper2989 I usually don't have that luxury. To minimize the number of potential revisits I have to do, I tend to follow a set stage pattern. Unfortunately, that set pattern requires me to visit Centipede's stage fourth. And Morph Moth is usually a stage I tackle later. I do have the Arm part by this time, though, so I have Leeway to experiment with the Strike Chain, Spin Wheel, and Sonic Slicer.
So the vertical stealth section decides how many blocks fall in that other section ? That's why it was different on my second run. It's possible to hit Magna Centripede while he is on top of the room aim for the opposite with Silk Shot(so if he is top left, aim right at the floor where he would appear normally, Silk Shot creates 4 projectiles after hitting the floor which will hit him).
Hey Kitty, did you know that you can just stay in the center of the field after you destroy Centipede's tail? The Silk Shot makes this fight hilarious because of that.
That's one of the things about this game- if you have the boss weakness, you can completely send some bosses into "derp mode"- where they won't do much of anything except a predictable pattern. Crystal Snail (jumping around, desperately seeking his shell) is the worst example of this, along with Flame Stag (tosses small flames at you while standing in a corner), Overdrive Ostrich (jumps up and uses charged Sonic Slicer), and Magna Centipede (teleports around like a ninja on too much caffeine). The four who don't (Wire Sponge (maybe, it's been a while since I fought him with the Slicer), Morph Moth, Wheel Gator and Bubble Crab) are some of the more difficult battles in the game.
Call me crazy but I actually find Magna Centipede to be pretty easy. Even without his weakness. I like to get behind him in case he uses his shurricans (as in, the same side). Then there's his tail which circles around. Depending on the formation for when it's three, it can be kinda hard to avoid, but not to bad for me personally. His venom, I like to make sure before he tries it, I'm dashing or wall dashing and hold the direction opposite to him so he can't suck me in that well. IF he does, spam left and right and the jump button (which isn't 100% but 90%). So yeah, he's pretty easy for me. Heck, even Unarmored. He's not a pushover, but not one of the more difficult ones for me. Believe it or not, I don't have that much trouble with Bubble Crab and Magna Centipede (no damage), yet I do with Flame Stag and Overdrive Ostrich. Isn't that strange? No really. I guess it's just an example of different people with strengths and weaknesses (I consider Morph Moth harder than both of those two though). Then again the only way I'm actually good at fighting Flame Stag is by fighting him the riskiest way possible, but still.
Honestly, I'm waiting to see how you'll manage Serges in the fortress, especially without the Giga Attack, but as I've seen in numerous videos of yours, you're no slouch when it comes to knocking bosses down to size. If you haven't already, perhaps a run through of Rockman 4 MI may be on your waiting list?
PinkKittyRose, Can you defeat the Dreadnaught full power? (2nd mini boss) he's loads tougher, and I think he prove even a challenge to you. I also dare you to only use the buster. just an opinion, but if I had to pick from all mini bosses and bosses alike, id have to choose The Dreadnought as my favorite. he's a formidable opponent with no real strategy, yet he still successfully deals damage with blind plasma shots. only thing I have difficulty with is his beam shield he summons from his mouth. its quite the menace.
The first stealth section in Magna Centipede's stage is pretty pointless. Even if you get caught and activate the turrets, you can just keep going forward until the alarm turns off, backtrack, and the turrets will be back on the ceiling deactivated. Maybe they shouldn't have given them the same programming as the other enemies where they respawn if their spawn point gets off screen.
I actually had more success with the Slicer i didnt even get hit once try my method for a video! Shoot it one tap in a direction and itll cover most of the field and wait until he reappears close to you in the open window he has and fire again he literally cant even appear to get a shot off. I had to try this i didnt have but 1 heart and even the silk super effective move i died with before i tried this

To destroy the sword mini boss in one hit you just need to charge the sonic slicer, it will go as easy as that.
The sword mini boss is called chop register
So Magna Centipede hacked into this computer to send the Sigma Virus worldwide. That makes him a literal computer bug.
lmfao true!!
Kyle Stubbs Yeah! That's right.
I also like how, if you're standing far enough away from Magna that the Silk Shot doesn't hit him immediately, you can see his eyes widening just before it hits.
It's only about a half-second long, but if you pause it at 3:27, 3:37 or 3:41, you can catch it.
It's a nice little touch, I think. Kinda like how if you got really damaged in Chill Penguin's stage in the first game, if you stand still, you can see vapour coming out of X's mouth as he pants.

I just realized pink is vibing through the stage select theme by selecting one at a time

I love that the sword mini-boss is vector graphics. neat little gimmick to use there.
Magna Centipede: Boomer Kuwanger's ninja brother.
There not related and Boomer kuwanger brother is actually gravity beetle not magna centipede

I second that. His videos are pretty informative too . I like watching Bean, Pink and Clement's runs of these games :)
For some reason, I think Magna Centipede's stage should have taken place inside some kind of Japanese castle

Hey, Pink! That part where you wanted to use the Giga Crush...Use the Silk Shot instead!
