There was a day that when new console gens came out, Madden was the 1st game I wanted to see, to see how much better it looked then the previous gens. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case, and that nostalgia factor is gone 😥

Movement looks better, but seems like the new passing system didn't do anything. Still every qb makes ridiculous throws lol. Same thing every year except new glitches for them to add in unfortunately people will keep buying this garbage
I agree. I'm a madden lifer. I've been playing madden since Sega and Super Nintendo. These new games don't even stack up to where we were on PS2. When they took college football away they killed madden in my opinion.

like the new specialized playbooks, and the new graphics and the new features for in-game. More customization for equipment is always a plus. Can’t wait to see what new rookies were able to get their face scans in too! Good stuff!

One of the problems, I had with 22 was when a faster DB was press covering your Wr in man. Your reciever had no chance to break free. I hope that DB battle thing changes this problem
I fr think ea needs to find a way to make it so dbs adapt to the offense….. that would allow sluggos, curls, etc to be more realistic options

Why would they spend time on watching someone's channel when all they do is hate on the game 24/7 and promote much more shitty alternatives such as maximum football and football simulator. Idek why people spend so much time on something they hate instead of doing something they actually like. It's weird.
I remember looking for youtubers who played madden years ago and when I first found you, I knew i found my favorite youtuber. Not many cover madden at the level you do and trust me when I say I think that you're the best to do it. Keep up the amazing content and thank you for caring about and covering the game.

I’m glad that the A.I zone defense is better this year. That made me mad the previous years. Keep up the good content!
It’s not better, they just got the defenders set to play ball aggressively that’s why they keep jumping past the routes and you saw in this video how they over pursue sometimes like that bucs TD. In zone plays it looks like the linebackers are not moving much but will jump towards ball when thrown.

Yeah, I agree. It's so interesting to see how everybody's career turns out. I've definitely been surprised a few times at who ends up being amongst the elite.

They also let you play cb in face of the franchise, which is what i been wanting for a while

Since you’ve tried the new skill passin does it feel different for every qb? Like is it easier to use wit Tom Brady and harder to use for Trubisky or does it all feel the same?
I just played the John Madden Memorial game on Madden 23. It was AWESOME in my opinion. The presentation of how the players look and how they run, pass, kick, tackle... all that.... looks really good. Now, I played on an easy level because I'm more what you call a casual player. I understand the game in a deep way so I know what to look for in schemes and formations and what have you. Madden has always delivered on those things. You've been right in your other videos that Madden has lost a lot of the detail in player position movement and awareness and all that kind of thing that it used to be. Perhaps EA will make things better as time goes by. I HAVE seen where you've mentioned that others have wanted refs back in the game and the ability to make a whole team and all that kind of thing. I agree, however, some of those details are not as important as how the game is played. If we're talkin' being on an easy level, o.k. things can get missed. But I've been able to do some things like you've mentioned (passing, missed blocks and so on) on a hard level. So it's not the level of the user it's been the make up of the program. I noticed in the Memorial game where the rushers on the edge needed to be doubled if I wanted to roll out even just a little bit to get a better position on a receiver or, if I didn't... SACK!!! So, that's a BIG improvement like you've mentioned. I'm looking forward to MUT as I've been able to understand that better since Madden 20, 21 and 22. I'm enjoying that now more than I ever have even at a casual "pick up." Keep doing your videos, Eric. I enjoy them and we must keep the flame goin'. Just remember, John Madden is lookin' down on us... WHAP!!!! BOOM!!!!!
Game looks like it got updates in all aspects and isn’t just another game with roster updates looking forward to playing it myself. Great content too glad your channel popped up on my recommended!

Best video so far on madden 23. Love the new passing mechanic even thought I want even more control of where I throw the ball. I also love that the cheesy regs players that like to roll out on every will no be able to do it.

Thanks for giving an honest look into the game so we can decide for ourselves the quality of the game. In my opinion, gameplay looks a lot cleaner, but still contains a lot of animation-based bugs with players tripping over nothing. However, I do think that there is at least some progress being made to improve gameplay and realism compared to previous versions like the better zone defense. Also I think it’s so ridiculous that EA is not releasing the next gen version on PC this year, makes zero sense to me

Players trip over nothing in real life too. They call it the turf monster. Adding into Madden is another great step towards realism

Ah yes, a new passing system for a game where DBs continue to stand and look at receivers and leave them wide open instead of even attempting to covering them.
A new passing system in a game where receivers and defenders continue to not jump for a ball that is clearly in reach when you hit the button.
A new passing system in a game where we can all go 21/23 and somehow, the two incompletions are INTs, not mainly because the ball was misplaced but because there is absolutely no fight for the ball. It's either the receiver's or defenders ball.
Instead of fixing the holes in this game that are killing the fun, let's add more features to exploit those holes.

improvements for sure, but i don’t like how the defense still doesn’t do anything against most runs and drag routes. it seems like almost every drag route or underneath route is wide open

I like how ball carriers momentum seems to always have them falling forward for a half yard or so, which is much more realistic than a thud at the POC and fall down. Looks improved!
That Kittle catch is a drop 100% of the time in every Madden prior to this. That had me excited

Looks like drags and crosses still work a little too well. And the long dropbacks don't seem to have an impact on blocking or accuracy

The hit stick receiver circle is a great addition. Madden 22 receivers would've been able to catch balls while falling down and double back flipping
