There are some difficult things in here to understand.
For example at 8:23, "it is just as much a sin to commit your body to the Lord Jesus Christ and then run to the doctor as it is to go and commit adultery or any other sin.
The only way I can reconcile a statement like this is if I take the action word "run" to mean that the person is running to a doctor as a type of ultimate Savior.
There are many illnesses where I will "run" to the doctor, not because of a lack of faith, but because a revelation of natural healing and protocol has already been established by medical science. For example, many years back, my 6yr old son had a anaphylaxis reaction to dairy the first time he was introduced to it. It never even crossed my mind that calling 911 was a sin. Nor did it cross my mind that the doctor was The Savior. Rather, I recognized the situation for what it was a took immediate action...to get him to a hospital to receive a steroid.

This is one of the places where the historical context clarifies this common early Pentecostal perspective that many like Lake and Wigglesworth had. In the early 1900s it was different than how it became now, and with many of the bad doctoring and science at the time, many were hurt or practiced upon, which made many prefer to turn to God. But I think this is definitely one of the places where we chew the meat and spit out the bones. As a brilliant healer said, "If I needed to go to the doctor, I would go to the doctor."

Consecration of body,(flesh) mind, spirit. Enemies: the world, the flesh, and the devil. Watchman Nee points out repeatedly that we surrender our soul/mind in order for the abiding Spirit of God to lead our spirit man. Back in the 1900's doctors practiced medicine on people. In 2024, I prayed in faith, and then I went to a doctor because my knee pain did not heal, without surgery. We do not insult God or the Holy Spirit ---nor do we violate God when we go to a doctor. Pray first, without doubt. God anointed doctors with a talent humans need.
