Side Note- if you add this base into a glitter polish that has a pigmented base. Keep in mind the base will become more sheer since all im adding is a clear base and no additional pigment
When nail polish is very very thick i add the nail polish thinner and let it just sit before i shake. I also set the closed bottle in a cup with hot tap water and it helps the process.
I do like glitters and sometimes I'm dissuaded from buying them especially indies because of this issue. It's amazing how you were able to restore those almost dried out polishes. I might just get a bottle of that base. Tyfs! 😊
Im thinking they dry out faster because they don't have as many chemicals, its the only thing I can think of idk. I wish they didnt though, Indies are expensive to begin with
I've never seen this reviving method before & it makes so much sense! I've only ever used polishing thinning drops & I had a similar experience - I would honestly need to use about 20 drops (not 1 or 2!! 😂) BUT the effect didn't seem to last.. Like, if I went to use the polish again, a month after using thinning drops, it would not apply as smoothly.. Very odd! I'm really interested in the idea of adding more suspension base! With the nine zero laquer shade - because it's still a bit gloopy/thick - have you tried adding nail polish thinner as well as the suspension base? I'm guessing that some polishes, that are thick from the start, may benefit from a bit of both products? (sorry if you already mentioned that you tried this - I can't remember) I saw your comment about how adding suspension base will fade out any coloured pigment in the original polish base - I wonder how much? Maybe it would just mean needing to paint an extra coat for full opacity? This video is definitely food for thought, so tysm for sharing you experience! 💕 👏 P.s. If you reuse the funnel you used - how do you clean all that glitter out of it first? 😂 I've ordered some disposable Funnels but obviously that's not a great for the environment!
Yes I added thinning drops as well and still a bit thick. Guess im not that only experiencing NZ polishes thickening since other ladies mentioned it. As for fading out color, the ones I have poured base too I dont notice much difference since most of them give full glitter coverage. The jelly's I added too I noticed a slight difference which makes sense since I am not adding additional pigment. How many coats it would take depends on how much suspension base is needed. for the NZ for example, the base dried out, it wasn't low because I used most of it, so there was pigment still left in there and the opacity didn't change for me. The funnel I use is plastic and I clean it with acetone, cotton balls and cotton swaps. I cant even remember where I got it. I'm sure you can find some on amazon
This is great information. I have some glitter dense nail polish that need a tremendous amount of reviving and I'm glad I didn't toss them out. I'm glad you showed us what to do and your tips are so helpful. Those Different Dimension polishes are really beautiful and it would have been awful if they couldn't have been saved. Love Sinful Colors Green Ocean!! TFS!
DD polishes are amazing!!! as far as the look of them but I had 2 dry out of me in less that a year. Its insane considering their price. If you try this method I hope you like it Cami
Thanks so much, Diana! I loved this video and helped me understand the process a bit better. I just bought the base too! I remember when you talked about it before o tried to buy it and they were sold out and I didn't think about it again until Christmas this year and a ton of my glitters are almost unusable, especially my DD!! I cant wait to try to fix this.
the 2 jelly's I bought, like gingerbread cookie and sugar plum are the only ones I found to be thick from the beginning. I have other shimmer and glitters from her and mine seem fine. Gosh now I want to check on B+ and pray its still good cause I love that polish. thank you Stacy

Great video
thank you Kay ;0)
I love Nine Zero polishes but even when they're brand new I always have to add a thinner because her base seems very "glue-like".
I agree Stacy! They're just really thick
