Pursala Sindhu and Nozomi Okuhara are great athletes. Both of them have the hearts of champions. They also both have great sportsmanship. Congratulations Pursala! Congratulations Nozomi. You both are WINNERS!!!!
Love Nozomi Okuhara. You are one of my favorit player in the world.
this is a repeat of great world championship match, well done ladies, both of u deserve to win this, this is definitely a rivalry, congrats Sindhu & Okuhara as well
Nozomi is just phenomenal. While she lacks the length of her opponents, she covers the court like a champ. I see this matchup like a one on one game between Steph Curry and Kevin Durant without a 3 point line. She makes the game so much more exciting.
Not comparable with Basketball. Height is a definite advantage in Basketball but in Badminton, height is an advantage as well as disadvantage. You often have to reach remote and stoop low to pick up points and as a taller person you have to bend and whip your body around a lot more and that is more tiring than taking extra steps.
Another way to understand this disadvantage is to think in terms of granularity. When you have shorter body you can fine tune with more precision, less flexibility for taller.
Well done, This is just a Beginning
New rivalry?
Look at Nozomi: hitting to Sindhu face at 08:47, to body at 23:30, 33:31, 1:10:32, rolling head in frustration at 41:41, 1:10:55, battering court with racket at 1:04:51/1:05:15 Overall, she appears to use potfulls of moisturizers.
3:49 omaygad nayana wannaone . My ears distracted with nayana 😂😂😂😂 . Miss you wannaone
Umpire this time is beautiful..
nozomi played against the crowd as well
Weird assessment. It was the same in Glasgow. It was just Sindhu's day. Don't look for lame reasons.
Baz Adam yeah. I agree too. It's different from glasgow. This one is just too noisy and yeah you know.
What did Okuhara did at 58:35?
She appears to talk to her guardian angel spirits as she also does a whole holy routine at the start of the game.
What Oku does really fascinate me. Can someone from Japan please explain the self-talking she does? Every player needs to have a signature style and Oku has the perfect one. I have turned out to be a big fan of small bomb she is :)
Nozomi is a very respectful player, not only toward her opponents but also toward the public. She was showing that respect to them. She does the same in all matches, is just that often times they don't show it.
francisco is correct, in japan, the nod is an important acknowledgement of the person it is directed to. I would presume she is saying it to lines judges, a quick form. notice how she would begin and end the matches with a bow as well.
UtubeS i will explain a little bit.
She's bowing/nod to all of court officials. To the line judge behind her, cameramen and photographer, service judge and umpire. To respect them ☺
WELL DONE EVERY INDIAN IS PROUD OF YOU

50:30
Sindhu lost the toss but got the chance to choose side. She made a good choice and she won the first game on that side. When she was trailing in the second game, she made a good choice of letting the game go rather than going all-in depleting her energy. Overall, she won 5 less points (54 versus 59) but won the match, great strategies used.
Apparently, a few elements of luck also played a part as they often do. When she is falling flat on the ground, that is part pretending as it is a common way in sports to gain some much useful timeout to recover.
Nozomi Okuhara😍🌹
I notice an air of arrogance in Sindhu. While Nozomi patiently waited for her to salute her coaches (when she should actually salute her opponent first). Nozomi waited for her by the side of the net and effusively and sincerely congratulated her, Sindhu just looked at her and did not reciprocate in the respect shown to her. She could turn into the next Carolina Marin in her lack of sportsmanship. I prefer Saena Newal.
t well said
Well said.. Yes everyone respects Saina and in turn she respects all of them in return
But Sindhu is world champ whereas Saina is not.
