I’ll never forget the first time I heard this album it was 2004 or 2005? I bought it at Best Buy for like 3 dollars or some shit honestly I bought it cause it was cheap and the cover art was dope, and this was my first 2pac album, and like you said the greatest 2pac album and my personal favorite album, it was so fucking raw and full of emotion, and he was saying some outlandish shit with such passion, he meant every word on this album, I don’t know words can’t express how I feel about this album in my eyez an album like this will never be duplicated or produced again, I’ve never heard an album this raw before
Favorite album ever. The Goat in his absolute prime. Very gritty, dark and unpolished- total opposite of AEOM. Born n raised in LA. I was just out of high school when this dropped. First time I heard Blasphemy I was like 🤯. Very possibly his greatest song ever. Second and 3rd verses are two of the greatest rap verses ever penned.
I greatly enjoy your album reviews and this is also my favorite pac album. Now, imagine if this album also included these cut unused songs: Watch Ya Mouth WhenThugs Cry Friendz Killuminati Niggaz Nature, Catching Feelings Street Fame Some if them were remixed and released later, but the original versions are dope AF, when thugs cry, Niggaz Nature, friends and Street fame.
Pac did this whole album in only 3 days.It was originally supposed to be the "3 Day Theory", but the studio engineers took a few extra days to mix it.Not only that, it was supposed to just be a throwaway mix tape.Sadly, I don't think Pac got the opportunity to make his peak/pinnacle album.
Underrated channel. Keep up the content! I saw a pic of the 7 day theory tracklist handwritten & like notes shouting out his beef with other rappers.. it said “& to Nas for not minding his fckin business”. That made me feel bad for Nas cause i can tell he didnt mean no malice to Pac. Nas being a virgo (misunderstood), & Pac a gemini (communication).. sad.
My #1 Pac album too. Think you also did a Lupe joint. Good music taste my dude. "I'm picking the lock coming through the do blastin" 😂 not too many people just reference that off the top
It may say "Suge shot me" but it was a mistake. It's at the end of the movie. I got added cause to take it out would start the day over. Starting from beginning. It's dark because it was meant to be dark. Aaliyah's last album was dark. Ask Timbaland. DMX was dark........and hell is hot. Get it? They all had the same ghost writer.
I like that! DARK! Hail Mary was a blank canvas he painted a masterpiece of darkness. The music is dark. Its Disney music mixed with a church organ. "Come with me" Its sung like the 7 dwarves. It's supposed to be dark. Dark Man X?
As a Pac stan, this album is obviously a classic among classics but to me it's always been 3rd in my list with MATW and AEOM coming in 1st and 2nd. Some of the beats on here aren't Pacs best imo. BUT, Pac has arguably a few of his all time greatest songs he ever made on here with White Manz World, Hail Mary and Blasphemy
I think it depends on what you value when it comes to evaluating pac's albums Pac's delivery and aggression on makaveli is ominous like you can "feel" the end is near I actually like the unpolished sound of makaveli.... all eyez on me has great songs but I don't believe it aged as well as makaveli MATW is really REALLY deep almost depressing to be honest it's one of those albums I have to be in the mood for
@@playforkeeps3536 I feel the same, the rough and ruggedness of Makaveli puts it top for me. I always imagine he walked out the studio after the last day recording ready to die..
@@rickyrichreacts9667 he said it during a recording session. Saying he put his whole album together saying it aint all that but he emphasized that he out it together in two weeks.
@@DockingFreidmanRecords lol no. I know exactly what you're talking about but I've never heard Pac say specifically talk about loving that album more... That's because he was dead so he didn't get to talk much about his new upcoming album 7 day theory

I agree with that wholeheartedly...
Superb review. PAC for life. Me against the world is my fav album. Its the whole story behind it. Do a review of R U Still Down :)
gotchu
Easily his best lyrical album
Not more lyrical than MATW
I LOVE the commentary on this review from you. Thats why I hate when people say pac wasn't lyrical. This is his lyrical opus
those people don't deserve to talk about hip-hop...

It’s crazy to me that no one talks about this album when it’s easily his best lyrically🤦🏾♀️
i really don’t understand it. top tier Pac
It was written in 3 dayz, then recorded in 4 dayz. 7 day. There were a lot of 7's.

I can agree with the beats wasn’t the best. It’s always a toss up between MATW and 7 Dayz for me. All Eyez 3rd is best all around album.

Did you do a review for strictly 4 my n.i.g.g.a.s? Heavily overlooked. Been playing it for the last few weeks.
Not yet but it’s on the way
I would love to see the studio footage of recording sessions of this album
it very little. it was a doc called thug angels 2 that’s centered around the making of this album. And they had some footage.
@@lifeastatum I have thug angel 1 by Qd3 I didn't know there was a part 2
yea. i remember seeing it on tv randomly a while back.😂
Do "still i rise" 2pac x outlawz🔥
His best album after all eyes on me
Papa was god and he was speakin from jesus pov in the first verse imo
Wow! You're a Makavrli fan!
Yep😂
He reached Legendary status with Legendary Rapid Fury Flow
Have you listened to his "R U Still Down" album, it was released right after Makaveli.
Of course
@@lifeastatum it's a very slept on album. I personally think it's one of his best body of works as well.
