For anyone trying to take melatonin to get sleepy, something to know is that if you take too much it can have the opposite effect than expected - so a higher dose won't necessarily make you sleepier. I didn't know this and always assumed melatonin just didn't work for me. Turns out, I'm just tiny and therefore even the smallest gummy is too strong a dose. Alas.
Also, their brains are probably already naturally full of melatonin. The more you resist sleep, the more your brain releases melatonin to force you to sleep.
Melatonin basically helps to set your circadian rhythm where it should be, that is all. Thus, it's not much use for acute insomnia but v helpful for jet lag and delayed sleep phase disorder.

I always thought telling the months instead of the years was annoying until I worked in childcare. It’s because you do go by months as a parent. They grow SOOOO fast and every month has different milestones. Usually when they get to 2 years you stop really counting the months cause the leaps in development aren’t as rapid.

daytime napping is a real thing in other countries. In Vietnam some companies let employees take a nap in a napping room or some people will bring a blanket and take a nap under their desks after lunch.
I think the opposition was to _daytime_ napping as a term, not the concept of a siesta/nap/tupplur/whatever, like a nap is a small sleep outside of your nighttime sleep, OF COURSE it takes place during the daytime. Daytime napping, as opposed to all the other times you nap, you know?
