Nissan has been advancing the development of SOFCs for automotive applications, which is sensible due to their ability to operate on both hydrocarbons and pure hydrogen. Currently, the creation of a hydrogen infrastructure might not be feasible. Nevertheless, it could become practical with the emergence of cost-effective nuclear power. Using alternative hydrocarbons is evidently more logical while hydrogen remains excessively costly.

I personally think you’ve slightly misrepresented SFOCs by not providing the clear math science. 1. Cost 2. Propane or LNG isn’t 100% clean but lower emissions by 10x then burning it. 3. Energy density/consumption to produce X power out put. 4. Lifespan or time till overhaul when using certain fuels. 5. ROI (Return On Investment) estimates. 6. SFOC uses vs other types of fuel cells. Otherwise, interesting video.

Does not consume hot water. Only electricity is the product here not hydrogen!

I recently read that some cruise ships such as MSC World Europa will make use of this technology. She also uses LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) as the primary fuel source rather than Diesel fuel for HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil), which theoretically will allow her to run much cleaner than cruise ships that run exclusively on LNG.
