Watch KwentoJuan ep 5 & 6. Each member of SB19 shared more in-depth experiences in that interview on how they started. To give you an overview of their timeline, ShowBT (their company) was established in 2016 here in the Philippines. Pablo was among the first to be recruited on the onset of the company being established that is why he said he trained for 3 years. Josh and Stell were among the first batch who auditioned. Justin joined their company’s workshop in late 2017 while on his senior year in the University and was offered by the company to be a trainee. Ken joined the online audition and was offered to become a trainee 1st quarter of 2018. SB19 debuted on October 26, 2018. Josh and Stell are co-members of a K-pop dance cover group called Se-on (They became champions and met BTS when they were starting). Josh was the one who informed Justin of the workshop and Ken of the online audition.
Yes I loved that interview!! I think they opened up more because The Juans were good friends and in the business. I feel it felt truly as a discussion amongst friends and why they opened up even more. It was different in feeling than with a regular interviewer they didn't know like that, on a friend level.
The company that trained them was an events company, not a very big company too. So, even if they're trained using the kpop system to train artists, they weren't given stipends or food allowances nor living accommodations while training. The company provided the studio, the training, the trainer, and exposure but money-wise, it is all up to the 5 of them to provide for their basic needs (food, clothing and accommodation). BTW, I also love these artists' with such deep background stories. Truly inspiring. Makes me feel proud of them. ❤

For a very intimate and emotional interview, watch Kwento Juan episodes 5&6. It’s a two part interview which will give such a deeper insight about who they are and their struggles (like bouts of depression). Josh’s vlog where he shared his experiences is such an emotional ride as well.
I’m an army for almost 6 years and now I’m an A’tin for almost 2 years. I love them both because their journey is not easy.. i just wish that sb19 will be known all over the world. Il
The docuseries in their own channel such as WYAT Making Film or What? The Making, are also a must watch to better understand how much work and passion they've put to produce their music and music videos
I don’t care who is SB19 is but Toni is my idol so i watched this interview of them anyway, because i love the host,,,and then when I finished this thats the start of my fangirling….im so inlove with them after this…
As Pablo once said, Ppop or in general, Pop is a genre. It hass been there for years. Then I reiterate your words too, it doesn't matter where it comes from. But how you transform it. And SB19 delivered/s.
Watch the interview with The Juans. They get to talk about the audition & training. Josh talked about his days before SB19 in his vlog. It was one of the first few vlogs he did in his youtube channel.
Exactly, Josh! Music is universal. I don’t really get why people keep on saying that they’re just a copycat. So sick! 🤦♀️ Thank you for your RV and for dig deeper into SB19 backstory. Each one of them has a very inspiring story. Can’t wait for the continuation of this video… Enjoy your vacation! 🤗
Their Korea Times Interview is one of their earliest interviews and it gives you a glimpse of how they got together, how they were trained, their influences, etc. Also, the WHAT?: The Making Film and WYAT (Where You At): The Making Film are two docu-series from their official channel - both worth checking out as they showcase how the music was made, the thought process behind the MV's, how the choreography was conceptualised, what preparations were made for the MV shoots, including teasers, promotional shoots, etc. -- you'll get to see the technical aspect of everything but also how much blood, sweat and tears were put into their music, choreo, MVs, etc. by each member and by the team behind their success.
This is one of so many reasons why we love sb19 coz they are not just a ready made idol they really crawling from the bottom to the top,, they are really passionate of what they want in this industry, before every event u can remember who's wear those clothes because they literally wore those costume again and again, and there's some interview that they invest Thier own money for Thier MV, what sb19 become now is pure hardwork and faith that they can achieve it, so proud of these boys they deserve all the love from Thier fans! Thank u for always supporting sb19!
12:43 - To know how difficult for SB19 to start with because of this perception, you should look for the Go Up press conference where reporters were outright rude to them, always stressing that they're copying KPOP. They handled it the best way they could, as young as they were at the time, and tried to be professional. You can't help but root for them after that interview.
there's nothing more nicer than watching people who keeps an open mind about a specific discussion. especially from something that they're not that very familiar about and just patiently and slowly absorbing the right information that you need to know to get to know them more. so, thank you! for investing time and searching for credible contents and not to those sick a$$ content creators who don't give a dang wether they'd put the boys to an unwanted spotlight just so they can get the views and likes they want. there's actually a lot more contents like this and those information that you may get actually came from themselves. moments where they were comfortable enough to share their vulnerable side to the public just like KWENTOJUAN episode 5&6 and their WHAT? making film. that content very much focuses on their struggles as a team, as a group and even their personal battles that pretty much every fans aren't aware of not unless they make contents like that to showcase the "raw" preparation for what they have prepared for everyone.
So glad Josh you are looking deeper in their life...I think SB19 is a very special group created by God for a mission...looking deeper into who they are makes you a very credible n knowledgeable reactor of SB19.. now you will understand why many people love them and are protective of these boys..God bless you Josh..
Hello! If you really want to know more about SB19, you can watch their Kwento Juan interviews Episode 5 (The Struggle in the Hustle) and Episode 6 (The Trophy Made of Trials) which can be found in RUclips. Watching the interview will give you an in-depth look into their journey as each member gets to share their personal experiences before they debuted as a group. I also agree with what you said: watching these interviews is better since the information is coming straight from members of SB19 themselves. You might also be interested to know that SB19 makes their own docu-series as well. They have one for "What?" and "WYAT". You can find these in their official RUclips channel. Thanks for taking the time in getting to know SB19. Enjoy your vacation. 😊
So basically Josh connects most if not all of them. Before they auditioned in their current company, they were all pretty active in the kpop covers dance community. Josh and Stell were in the same group who usually won 1st place in the competitions that they joined in. At some point, one of their competitors was a dance crew which Ken is a part of. That’s how Josh and Ken became friends. At some point, Josh and Justin met and were a part of another dance crew as well. While everyone else is competing in the dance category, Pablo competes in singing/rap category. Josh knew of him then but they were not necessarily friends. So before auditioning in their current company, Josh was already friends with Stell, Justin and Ken but the three were not friends with each other i suppose. Josh was the one who invited Justin to attend workshop in their company and from there Justin was then urged by their teacher to become a trainee. Also, Josh invited Ken to audtion when they were looking for the final member of SB19. Fun fact: the final decision to choose the final member of SB19 were left by the company in Pablo, Stell and Josh’s hand. All three of them chose Ken. Also, the company is an events company, and from what I understood what they were looking for at the time were event performers who could perform during parties and other events. Hence, their experiences in performing for Korean grannies, Chinese events, formal functions were they were servers and singers at the same time, orphanages and so on. I guess the company never really intented to formally debut a group of singers to be like mainstream singers in the first place. It just happened that they realized how talented the boys were and that it would be a shame to waste that hence it was later on decided that they would debut as a boy group. I think they were given little allowances maybe out of the earnings that the company gets from the events that they cover. And that the trainings were at first not meant for boy/girl group type like what they do in South Korea but instead, those seem like trainings for them so they could perform well during the events covered by the company or on events they were hired to perform since as mentioned above they were just meant to be event performers in the first place. From what I understood as well from their interviews, even though they were supposedly trained under the “kpop training system” but the company slightly modified their rules to accomodate the Filipino culture based on what will work for the trainees as they apparently argued that what works for Koreans may not necessarily work for Filipinos.
SB19 really surpassed the difficult stage of their life that prepared them,,, at their achievements now in case of problems to come their way they would definitely surpass them.. you may check the Kwento Juan episodes 5 & 6,, you would know and admire them more as we do.. thank you so much for appreciating SB19
You should watch KwentoJuan ep 5 and 6 they individually shared their stories from before they started their training and became sb19. It's a long interview but you'll learn about the boys more and how their minds think. Ps. I almost cried during the two episodes cause looking at it now they really came a loooong way
Cant wait for the next part. I will also suggest Korean Times interview and Kwento Juan. The latter is more in depth and talked about their humble beginnings. Each member told their back stories before joining sb19. Also the struggles they faced during training days and how their life change after they became viral and become the nos. 1 PPOP group in Phils. They are the trail blazer. And because of them many are inspired and now it became a community. TV Networks and big companies are now producing PPOP groups.
Thanks for this! Toni talks is a good start to know them. Next, I would say is Korean Times interview, then the Go Up press conference and then finish it with Kwentong Juan Ep5&6 and Zach Sang Show, the most recent one.
So glad you started watching their interviews. Being a fan for their music is one thing, but admiring each member for their personalities and life experiences makes one stay and support them all the way. I’m way older than them, but oftentimes I learn from them.
Exactly what Pablo said "music is universal, nobody owns a genre it's just inspired." Food, accomodations & transportation ws all on them. When one has no packed food they'll just shared & when one has no money for fare they just borrow to those who has extra (usually to Justin). That's why their brotherhood is amazingly admirable. 💙 If u want to know them better, check out KwentuJuan Ep 5 & 6. Also CashualChuck's SB19 Docu Series. TY 😊
I love a narrative that showcases humble beginnings. What's great about SB19, each member stayed true to themselves even though they are getting well-known worldwide in the music industry. They always say "we're only starting" and could be true... But for me, they will continue to GO UP!

I'm always waiting for your RV about sb19. You are my favorite reactor, thank you for loving sb19 they really work hard to where they are right now that's why we love them. They paved the way for PPOP.
Thank you for getting to know SB19. You will understand and appreciate them more, learning of what they are as a person and their experiences. Pls continue to watch videos like this.
I'm so happy you decided to watch this interview out of all the interviews out there because this is also one of my faves. I really appreciate you trying to get to know them more Sir! They're very talented, passionate and hardworking men who, despite all the success they've achieved, still don't get the recognition they truly deserve. I saw one of the comments here recommending KwentoJuan, and I agree. I hope you can react to it too. God bless you, Sir!
Thanks for taking the time to get to know them by checking out this interview. Really appreciate that you want to know more about them as people and how they started out ❤️
I really appreciate the time and effort you and your team put up to create contents about SB19. Thank you as always for this great reaction. Can't wait to see the rest of it :)
Thanks for this reaction josh! They trained without salary and food. They bring their own food and Josh before said that he eat sometimes with Pablo's food and if Pablo will not eat he will not eat too. They are very passionate that's why I love and support them.
Please also watch their Zach Sang show interview and Kwento ni Juan Ep5 & 6. 😊 These are my favorite interviews of them. You'll see how depth they are as a person. And how dedicated they are to their craft.
I have been waiting for you to react o. These vlogs..like the documentaries.. chucks docu was my sb19 know me more, because it os a compilation of the long solo interviews... then I watch the interviews when i got time...
I am so glad you chose this interview first! In my opinion this perfectly shows their real raw journey and hardship before who they are now. Can’t wait to see part 2! Much love! ❤
There are lots of documentaries about them that tells their stories, and knowing their individual stories made me love them even more. Thank you so much for your support to our MAHALIMA SB19,much appreciated po😊
You chose well. Each member's characteristuc really do come out in interviews, especially in this one. Toni gonzaga is one of the legit good interviewers here in the philippines.
Wow sir!,I always watch your reactions specially to our filipino talents, but this time, I find it really amazing that not only you appreciate their talents, but seriously you really wanted to know SB19 journey through documentary and know your takes and opinions about what SB19 went through before they got these recognitions..I'm excited for next segments..more power..
Oh! This left me hanging I can't wait for the 2nd part. I'll better check now. Anyway, your reaction is amazing and I like your points of view about music. Like when you mention that music evolves so it seems like a copy from other famous artist, but that is how music is. Incoming artists acquire the trends and adding their own touched to it. And SB19 are vocal geniuses. They showcase how great Filipinos are when it comes to singing.
Oh Man!! That end reaction of yours is so SPOT ON!! Thats how our Pinuno(Leader) Pablo explained about PPop being a copycat of KPop! I like your mindset. I know most if not half of Filipinos now are accepting PPop. SB19 is doing a great in that!💠💙 Thank you for supporting our MAHALIMA! Bless you!

I appreciate that you take the time to learn more about each member of SB19
Thanks for the reaction. Can't wait for the next part.
Ha! You fell into th SB19 rabit hole as I, and many others, did. And it is very inspiring in this SB19 hole that we don't want to get out.

Oh Man!! That end reaction of yours is so SPOT ON!! Thats how our Pinuno(Leader) Pablo explained about PPop being a copycat of KPop! I like your mindset. I know most if not half of Filipinos now are accepting PPop. SB19 is doing a great in that!💠💙
