It doesn't, it just shows a win rate and not a profit. I win 40% of the time and make a long term profit. It's all about the odds you suggest that win rate applies to. I only do bets that are +150 and higher. I know other people who win 70% of the time but lose long term because they do bets that are -400 odds or lower

So to me, that was really cool because it went against the stereotypes of gamblers being drunks and losers. What I wound up finding is that playing the horses successfully is 80% math, 15 percent horse knowledge and 5% random. There's a lot of risk avoidance too. He wouldn’t bet parlays, professional bettors don’t do that. We call those lottery tickets. Because any edge you have gained with your research is instantly lost the second you parlay and require all things to be right to profit. We bet the game straight up. 10k to net a profit of 9k if you win. Most of us average a win % of between 52-55. So sports betting at the professional level is not a get rich quick scheme. It’s small gains over time. It’s actually a grind and can be tedious and stressful. Not really that glamorous of a career choice. But I agree with Billy. I still trust my handicapping skills vs the betting market vastly more than the stock market. Best year I ever had betting sports I hit 14%ROI best year I ever had in my stock investments was 7%ROI and I had to keep my money tied up for a year. Sports betting, money goes in - win - money comes in. No tying up funds for indefinite periods. It’s more fluid.

This was great advice. Like the stock market, you have to do your research to be successful. Betting is not as complicated as the stock market.
Years ago, I talked to someone who helped with the handicap in a Vegas casino. Pay attention to the injury report, looking for trends, i.e. large markets sway the spread, travel, weather, grass/turf. Start out with small bets to experiment. Bet larger on the guarantees. A few dollars in a few years will build up a bank roll. Slowly, you can figure it out too.

Betting is infinitely more complicated than the stock market, that is unbelievably inaccurate. A 5% return in sports betting is considered elite level. You can earn more than that by holding a blue chip stock or index, or just a freaking HYSA. You're talking out of your ass if you're suggesting to someone that it's not hard to win 54% long term. The statistics behind how many people are actually capable of pulling that off versus the people sitting in RUclips comments talking about how easy it is raises the BS alarm as loud as a foghorn. The best sports bettors in the world either spend 16+ hours a day grinding research or spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on the world's best quants to automate it. I guarantee you cannot show returns of more than 5% and a win rate of above 54% long term in sports betting and you are just whispering sweet nothings. In fact I'll bet $100 on it.

So you obviously don't watch NBA and NFL much. It's not rocket science. All one would have to do is look at discrepancies in calls that are being made with certain teams. This can easily be done by looking at stats. There is no integrity in the NBA/NFL anymore. Money is the new God. I have no allegiance to any team and I can see the massive discrepancies in calls favoring one team over another. @@theacgkid

Yeah, but these same people cannot explain how these games are rigged no one can. I have said this about 100 times on different threads and forms. I’m sorry until someone can prove to me how they are rigged then you should’ve come on here and say that they rigged you just can’t say oh they rigged man. It’s so obvious oh they have to be rigged lol you sound like a fool and you look like a fool so let’s take one NFL game how are they rigged? Do you think they have a meeting with all of the referees, the owners, the players, the coaches at one time and they all put this down on paper and say and they scripted out like in the WWE? You are crazy OK and if you think they’re rigged, then stop watching the games OK or if you think they’re rigged and you know so much what you’re talking about you should be a multimillionaire but you’re not and no one can prove it every once in a while there is a pair excuse me a player that gets paid extra to either take a fall or do stuff or there’s a corrupt referee. It’s been proven, almost every scandal that’s been out there that has to do with rigging has been caught black scandal and state but to sit here and put a blanket over and it’s all then I’ll say that you had a lobotomy years ago and you don’t have a clue in the world

Being a gambling "expert" is not about how many times you get right, but how well you manage your bankroll.
Say you win 55% of the times of the bets that you place (which is extremely good btw). Which means your expected value is positive, and you will make money in the long run.
BUT, even though your expected value is positive, you can have "unlucky" streaks in your career and if your bankroll can't handle those losses due to being overleveraged, you will go broke
My rule is never risk more than 2% of your bankroll in a single bet

They would allude to things being fixed and would sometimes call us last minute and have us bet on the strangest games. I think there is something to it. Sometimes we'd win a bunch of games in a row, like 10 or more, just to turn around and lose just as many in a row. I think feeding us bad info was deliberate. I can't figure out why they would purposely feed us bad info seeing as how we were paying them. I think they would feed lots of folks bad info to try to influence the line.🤷🏻

They would need to be insane to condone, shelter, or participate in any shenanigans. That would shut off the money printing machine! Would you shut off your own money printing machine, in your basement?? of course you wouldn't. His bet is measured by the size of the difference between his prediction and the market's. He said 'mysterious' actors placing large bets out of no where and moving the line was sketchy.

I played football. Loved it. I've found the best thing you can know to make accurate predictions is the players. How they play, their strengths and weaknesses, whether they have passion for the game, natural talent, etc and also knowing the game from a players standpoint. I've always had a good time betting considering these things. Knowing each offense and defense from watching the games too.

NBA is absolutely rigged. They favor the home team because there is nothing separating them from the crowd. And pay attention to the calls. You see a bad call, ie; someone goes for a clean steal but the ref calls foul within a few minutes there will be a "make up foul" to the other team to "even it back out". That's how you get called for a foul being six feet away from the other player. I started waning from the NBA in the mid 2000's because I was calling the game by the end of the 1st quarter and calling make up fouls seconds before they happened. It became too scripted because it is the home of the "Cinderella Story"
