Considered by whom? When you already have money it doesn't make you the best. You guys live under a brick and Joe doesn't know anything about betting. These guys throw a ton of money at something. To say he doesn't even look at lines, man if you know anything or have been doing this for 10 years plus. THERE ARE PLENTY OF PEOPLE WITH OVER A 50% win rate.... Like MILLIONS. You know what they don't do? Come on here talking about it because there living good lol.
I bet this guy would give more accurate analysis on players than anyone on ESPN.
Probably, but the roles/jobs are also drastically different. Mainstream broadcasting is still geared toward casuals since they represent the largest demographic of viewers.
Better than Bob Costas for sure.
ESPN doesn’t hire competent analysts. They hire people who can be puppets
Bill would bet it too
Of course…ESPN analysis have to remain at least somewhat biased based on the company’s interests. Plus they are also needing/trying to be entertaining more than they need to be accurate.
For him to bet 4.5 million on the Saints Superbowl win is a pretty insane game to have watched while making yourself that much money.

Sports doesn't even need to be rigged by the players or teams all they need is a corrupt referee. Look at that basketball ref who was rigging games and making bogus calls to sway the games. He said himself that over 80% of all the games he reffed were rigged and the outcomes were extremely accurate.

Tim Donaghy, but he's not the only one. His VLAD TV interview explains a lot
Anyone who has been a ref knows that, basketball is easiest, but you can call a hold on every play, or ignore them.
I can’t imagine putting money on the line when there are refs, they can basically control the game with calls. Burning money.
Remember when the ref lied abt a coin flip and literally both teams were saying on camera “IT WAS HEADS!!” The ref “he called tails.”

He talked about being visited by some Wall Street investment bankers regarding mortgage-backed securities and mortgage swaps (insurance on mbs's). I think they got him for a good amount of money. He said he had met a lot of snake oil salesmen in Vegas in the gambling business but the investment bankers were WAY sleazier and WAY slicker (something to that effect).

My grandad was a professional sports gambler. He was also a prolific mathematician. He confessed to me that eventually he was banned from every bookies in the north of england (they had his photo behind the counter, among a few others) because he won so much, so often. I said "grandad if I was to bet I'd do it like this: *and I explained my gut idea*" he said " that's exactly what I did". Never talked about it again. Grandad died 10 years ago. What he did was exactly what this guy did. Bet against the other betters when their maths is all wrong
I bet horses (grew up by a racetrack) and when I was a kid I noticed that all of the professional handicappers that I met were math teachers or retired math teachers. So to me, that was really cool because it went against the stereotypes of gamblers being drunks and losers. What I wound up finding is that playing the horses successfully is 80% math, 15 percent horse knowledge and 5% random. There's a lot of risk avoidance too. So I enjoyed this guest but I am not really interested in playing other sports.
Why didn't you just place bets for him?

This guys book is great and an entertaining read!
This was great advice. Like the stock market, you have to do your research to be successful. Betting is not as complicated as the stock market.
Years ago, I talked to someone who helped with the handicap in a Vegas casino. Pay attention to the injury report, looking for trends, i.e. large markets sway the spread, travel, weather, grass/turf. Start out with small bets to experiment. Bet larger on the guarantees. A few dollars in a few years will build up a bank roll. Slowly, you can figure it out too.
I just track pricing inefficiencies based on how the books perform at every subset of odds for various moneyline and prop bets and do deeper analysis into various pricing trends from open to close. I don't even know the names or abilities of the people I place my bets on half the time. Did this for a year on paper before using real money. It's amazing how easy it is to win at sports betting.
@@ronswanson1410 Good advice. I agree, it is best to experiment on paper before you spend real money.
@@ronswanson1410 I’m currently beginning on betting and your method seems really interesting.
Is there any way to get in touch with you to get more details?
Betting is infinitely more complicated than the stock market, that is unbelievably inaccurate. A 5% return in sports betting is considered elite level. You can earn more than that by holding a blue chip stock or index, or just a freaking HYSA. You're talking out of your ass if you're suggesting to someone that it's not hard to win 54% long term. The statistics behind how many people are actually capable of pulling that off versus the people sitting in RUclips comments talking about how easy it is raises the BS alarm as loud as a foghorn. The best sports bettors in the world either spend 16+ hours a day grinding research or spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on the world's best quants to automate it. I guarantee you cannot show returns of more than 5% and a win rate of above 54% long term in sports betting and you are just whispering sweet nothings. In fact I'll bet $100 on it.
@@DeckedHim If you’re convinced it’s that difficult simply don’t bet and stick w stocks then. Don’t speak about what you don’t know. 54% means nothing, you exposed yourself 😂

I need this man to hit my parlays 😅
He wouldn’t bet parlays, professional bettors don’t do that. We call those lottery tickets. Because any edge you have gained with your research is instantly lost the second you parlay and require all things to be right to profit. We bet the game straight up. 10k to net a profit of 9k if you win. Most of us average a win % of between 52-55. So sports betting at the professional level is not a get rich quick scheme. It’s small gains over time. It’s actually a grind and can be tedious and stressful. Not really that glamorous of a career choice. But I agree with Billy. I still trust my handicapping skills vs the betting market vastly more than the stock market. Best year I ever had betting sports I hit 14%ROI best year I ever had in my stock investments was 7%ROI and I had to keep my money tied up for a year. Billy is a wild dude. His book is really interesting and has a lot of good information for sports bettors. But one of the things that really stuck out to me…he employees an entire team of MIT and Ivy school grads to crunch numbers and create their own power rankings to determine a games line to compare to the books, and on a good week they might win 60-65% of their bets. That is really tough for the “average” bettor to accomplish on their own no matter how much time or knowledge you may have.
same thing that big financial groups do to invest or play the stock market - they have their own private network and internet lines, connected to "super computers" to crunch data and make bets before anyone else can
He grinded that team from the ground up with years and YEARS of hard work and failure. The core concepts behind his model which he outlines in his book haven't changed much since 50 years ago, he's just honed and refined them to an elite level. You have to be above average to work that hard anyways in the first place. Most people are not willing to invest that much time in something. There are still pen and paper handicappers today that grind an edge by working crazy hours. Billy Walters is just an example of a brilliant and hard working person who scaled his operation to the ultimate degree

SPORTS ARE FAKE@@donothesitate1198
@@theubc The dude is 77 years old and has lived at least three lifetimes of heavy drinking. He's one of the most well known and respected sports bettors of all time. All of the good handicappers today have worked for him at some point. He has an insurmountable team of quants and runners under his employ that he has built up over the years. He quite literally started by shooting craps in the hood down south and hustled/labored for every penny he has. "isnt straght enough in his words he always fumbling around" you hardly seem qualified to judge somebody based on how they speak, let alone a man in his senior years who grew up with no education.

Betting on an NFL basketball game is crazy 11:29 😂😂
those good old nfl basketball games!!!
Any time I hear someone who claims to be an expert say, "there's no fixed pro sports" he's a mob or govt guy.
His reasoning for how/why sports gambling isn’t rigged sounds a lot like how/why the economy isn’t rigged… “regulations protect us” BULLSHIT
It doesnt exist. . . Goes onto list multiple examples we've all heard of and ignores 5 other stories that have been uncovered recently. His argument is that all the ones he knows about got uncovered. No duh lololol its 100% rigged
Please invite a motocross/supercross racer on your podcast. Very similar culture to UFC in a sense. Some ideas that come to mind are Ricky Carmichael, Jeremy McGrath, Kevin Windham, Ken Roczen, Eli Tomac, Brian Deegan, Haiden Deegan
Only three would make sense since SX and MX aren’t mainstream. McGrath, Carmichael, or Pastrana.
I remember the Saints vs Colts Super Bowl, and ALL of the money was on Indianapolis since they hadn’t really lost all season, they rested all their guys the last 2 weeks so the starts were essentially 16-0 including playoffs and Saints were 15-2. Dude cleared some serious money on that game.
he says it’s not rigged but then says he bets on lines that move mysteriously and last time he bet against the mysterious move he lost BECAUSE they were FIXING it and that’s how he learned but THEN goes on to say how transparent betting is these days even tho HE JUST said Lines move mysteriously 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣But he did tell us that if no one bet he wouldn’t be able to bet so he doesn’t want to say it’s fixed and discourage us from betting i guess
Yeah judging by how you speak it's obvious that you don't understand what he was saying
At 6:00 he says “there’s more transparency in todays game than ever” I’m sorry but he clearly hasn’t watched nfl or the nba of recent. I mean I understand the argument in that we have more eyes and better technology to spot things like this…. But that’s exactly what’s happening more eyes are spotting the bs that goes on in sports😂. The amount of fouls in the nba and calls in the nfl have only went up and have only been more obvious
@@theacgkid ok scratch the “going up” part can we talk about the obviously blown calls? And idk if you watched the nfl in the early 2000s but you can’t deny the fact that the game has changed completely… it caters for shi**y calls to be made in the nba and the nfl… just watch film of people claiming rigged moments in the nfl it’s all there for you to see and none of the tape is from the early 2000s or later despite all the film we have. I don’t bet on sports (I have before but don’t) nor am I cowboys fan😂 just a man with eyes and a brain that’s questioning the obvious
@@theacgkid and don’t comment on how that’s dumb just watch the RUclips clips yourself it’s almost undeniable that people should at least question all the bs that goes on
@@theacgkid yea bro and what’s ur source 😂 I bring up a theory and you deny it with a hypothetical… prove me wrong and don’t just say what we all know like no shi they obviously can’t openly change the rules to cater towards gambling admittedly rigging the system. I’m saying there is no way to tell if they are actually rigging it so WATCH THE TAPES. Then come back to me brotha
@@theacgkid acting like it’s insane to call out rigging in sports when it’s happened many times
@@theacgkid Yeaa talking about grammar in a RUclips comment section 😂😂
We need Stuart Feiner on JRE

This guy reminds me of the Las Vegas cowboy opposite Ace Rothstein.
There is alot of bad things to do. Drink. Smoke. Drugs. But gambling is not a thing to get into.
I disagree. Your health is your wealth.
Money comes and goes.
Take it from a Cancer patient here. I would give it all up just to have my health back.
🙂
Cancer is not the same as any of those. Gambling should be illegal you'll lose eventually always statistically
Health is important obviously. But you can spend everything you have and own in one second
@@DylanBeast777 Drinking and drugs can make you lose everything too. Most homeless people are addicted to drugs.
I was told this by many people, I’ve done it all 😂 but always scared to get sucked in to gambling.
Finnaly a large platform speaking on rigged sports… it’s rigged and we deserve to know
