Perfect! To make it easier in the future. Your "normal stitches" are called a single crochet. when you do the step at the begining and end of each row and have 3 loops on your hook. That is called a Decrease. also, when your squaring off the corners and get to the very end and pull one chain under the next chain, that's called a slip stitch. Hope this helps. Thankyou for your hardwork.

Catherine you are doing a great job. I don’t know how to get the materials here in Cameroon. Please anyone to direct me on how to get all the material and start my handwork in three days?
Hi. This is an amazing bag and you explain so beautifully. Thanks for all the effort you put in. Could you please tell me the weight of the finished bag. Thanks
I have to ask (not sure if anyone else has)... did this project hurt your hands, fingers, and even arms or shoulders??? I haven't finished yet. My stitches are definitely not as tight as yours seem to be, and I am struggling with comfortability. I have the same cord and same size hook, but struggle to find a good position to lay the project in, with comfortable hand/arm positioning, no matter what direction I'm working in (if that makes sense). I can't tell from the video alone, did this bag take you a very long time, pulling through stitch by stitch the way you are showing? If so, I am only asking because I applause your patience with each and every stitch. Your work is so clean, tight, and perfect. I can't imagine how much time you spent to make it that way! After attempting this bag, if you are selling them yourself, I really hope you are charging for more than just your time, but the skill needed as well!
Thank you for your questions! 😊 “did this project hurt your hands, fingers, and even arms or shoulders???” ➡️YES, totally 😄 my fingers and hands hurt a lot, my carpal tunnel is not amused at all and I developed kind of “workers hands” where the yarn is placed/ the hook pokes in. But I love the result so I think its worth it 😊 “I haven't finished yet. My stitches are definitely not as tight as yours seem to be, and I am struggling with comfortability…….” ➡️I get what you mean. Personally, I prefer to work on handbags on my desk while sitting upright & the item placed in a certain working height in front of me. For other items I can sit everywhere. ”I can't tell from the video alone, did this bag take you a very long time, pulling through stitch by stitch the way you are showing?” ➡️The fact that I’m struggling in the video is more because of the way I have to work to film such a tutorial 😄 a camera standing on a little tripod in front of my face, armes stretched around it and my crochet pieces placed in a way that it doesn’t knock the tripod over while you have to crochet & make sure to get a good video of everything you make. Off camera, I would say I became rather “fast” with time & practice and think I would need like 2 or 3 working days to finish one bag including lining, handle and everything. ”If so, I am only asking because I applause your patience with each and every stitch. Your work is so clean, tight, and perfect.” ➡️Thank you so much for your kind words - I never thought that anyone would actually like my work so this means a lot to me ❤️
I have crochet this part one twice now. First attempt too loose. Second attempt got the 3 middle stitches on the V wrong each row. Now I’ve got the right tension and 3 V stitches in right place, but the crocheting is not straight at the bottom. I get confused which is the 1st stitch at the beginning of each row and the last stitch on each row. Any suggestions on how to get it right please?
Tried using the plastic safety pin looking markers to keep track of your ends? You’re ahead of me at least. I can’t even get started as cannot figure out the size of hook used. Am missing that key bit of info someplace.
Congratulations, nice video. What's the size of the hook (millimeters) and how to make it tight knit as shown in the video 05:00 ? I do the same steps, but it's not tight...
Thank you! 😊 I work with a 2,5mm hook here. This hook is actually to small for the size of the yarn but in this way, it helps to make very tight stitches.
Hi Catherine. I wish you the very best in your enterprise. You deserve all the best for your beautiful work and your generosity sharing with us. I'm having trouble keeping a flat bottom it wants to vere up. Do you crochet into the chain stitch you have just made or into the first one after with two stitches? Kindest regards jacquie😘
Hey Jacquie, thank you so much for your comment!! I never imagined that people could like my work so it honestly makes me so happy to read that! 🥺❤ Regarding your question: If I understand right, the magic ring and the following rows are not in one line (see minute 6:20) - right? This actually happens regularly to me as well and my experience is, that not the first stitch after the chain is the problem but the last stitches of the prior row (where you make the two stitches befor turning). There you have to make sure to use the very last stitch possible, make two stitches in there, then comes the chain, turn and do two stitches in the first normal stitch of the row (not the chain you just made). I hope this helps, let me know how your bag turned out! 😘

Hey Cathérine, I absolutely love this pattern 😍 I want to make it, but I have one doubt: when you make the row of normal stitches before putting the log, do you add more stitches to the corners to make it follow the shape better or do you just continue regularly? Thank you so much!! 👜
After I complete the 12 rows I'm ending up with 24 stitches instead of 23. Hey, thank you for your feedback. Yes, the yarn shown in the video is also polyester macrame (approximately 2mm thick and 230m in length, needed 2 balls). :)
Installing the lock is always a bit difficult. You have to press the two parts together strongly and pull the yarn apart a bit on the sides while you turn the screw in and then it works. 😊
the pattern is so pretty! may i know how many grams of yarn did you use for it? and can i use macrame yarn as an alternative? im planning on making one for my mother hehe thank you!

@@فايزهكرم-ز5و If you use 2mm yarn as well, I would recommend to take a smaller hook because otherwise, the loops you make will be very loose and that might not lead to a nice result
Hey! This is a very nice bag, I first saw this pattern almost a year ago but I was much more a beginner in crocheting then, but now I might make it for a friend, or even for myself! I do have one question, when you're going on with the height/length of the bag(24cm), do you still do 3 "normal stitches" as you call them, or single crochets in the top stitch? You may have mentioned in the video but I don’t think I listened well enough
Hey 😊 unfortunately, I don't remember how much I had leftover (the tutorial is nearly 2 years old now 😅) and it also depends on how long you decide to make the handle... to make this bag you should have 2 skeins of the recommended yarn though
Thank you 😃 I think with 3mm yarn the bag wont get so "stiff"/ doesnt stay in shape so well so that you will definitely need to sew plastic canvas to the inside 🤔
I guess you work one SC per SC, then? Try working SC+CH+SC in the corner stitch and in the following rounds, the CH of this sequence will be the new corner stitch where you also work SC+CH+SC again. 😊
Hey there, the rounding and puckering can have several reasons. The first one would be that you make the stitches to tight. So you could try to make the stitches rather loose and see if it still happens. The second solution is that you vary the number of stitches per loop. On the sides we e.g. have a 2-1-2-pattern that you could change to a 2-2-2-pattern. If the corners round just a little bit, it can also help to place some heavy books on them over night :) I hope one of this solutions will help! :)
Perfect! To make it easier in the future. Your "normal stitches" are called a single crochet. when you do the step at the begining and end of each row and have 3 loops on your hook. When doing the outer rounds, how do you keep the corners from rounding and puckering? Yours is so neat and squared looking
