      Thats exactly what people will be carrying im affraid, if many breeds get banned... And that goes for law abiding citizens to...if certain breeds get banned they should make it legal to concele carry knives or tazers its that simple..this country is quickly becoming unsafe,and its been quite clear for sometime now we cant really rely on the police..FACTS..

    These guys haven’t got a clue. XL Bullies are bred from fighting stock for fighting and that’s what they do. Their aggression is genetic and inherent. To suggest that you could train them not to be aggressive is like suggesting you could train a Labrador not to be interested in water or a greyhound not to chase rabbits. The people walking around with them might as well have a lion on the end of a lead. That’s how dangerous they are. The DDA 1991 has worked - it kept fatal dog attacks to a stable level of about 3 a year for the last three decades. It’s only with the emergence of the XL Bully over the last two years that fatal dog attacks and maulings have suddenly started to climb.

      Nah mate that's al
      Load of crap.
      I've had a XL for a couple of years now and she's good as gold coz I've trained her to be.
      She's even sat guarding my 3 month old baby making sure she's ok.
      Don't get me wrong I do muzzle her when we go for walks. But she's so play full with other dogs.and if I call her when she's off the lead she always comes back and sits by my side till I tell her she can carry on.

      @@giulioreay1411 you might be interested to know that XL Bullies adopted as pets can live peacefully for many years but their sudden attacks cluster around age 8-10. You can own a cuddly couchhippo for years. And one day it might kill your kids without warning. Let’s hope your three-month-old gets to adulthood, shall we?

    • @gelbsucht947
      @gelbsucht947 Год назад +16

      @@giulioreay1411 that’s untrue. XL Bullies make up 1% of the UK dog population but have caused 10 deaths in the last ten years, far more than any other breed. They have been bred from fighting stock to be reactive and aggressive, while gun dogs and sighthounds are bred to be gentle. Why did you get an XL Bully instead of a Labrador or a spaniel? If you’re honest, you probably know it’s because the breed is aggressive. You assume though that the dog will be considerate of you and your young child and only aggressive towards outsiders. Let’s hope no member of your family finishes up being mauled by it or you don’t end up in prison because it attacks and kills somebody else.

    The public should be banned from owning any breed over weight & jaw/head limits. There is no way to guarantee any dog you come across is well trained, so at least if something goes wrong you'd have a fighting chance to stop it or minimise risk. And to the people who keep banging on about 'it's the owner not the dog', you are part of the problem. You're basically making excuses & ignoring the potential for great harm. 'It's not the knife it's the owner, but I should still be able to carry one in public'. Then it is 100% your fault, but dogs have a mind of their own.

I want killer dogs off the streets, I don't want to be fearful of open spaces with my kids and I frequently see dog owners stop their big dogs and tighten the leash around kids. Let me give you a little anecdote. Years ago I lived in a close where one of my neighbours had a Rottweiler bitch. She was the soppiest creature on the face of the planet, loved people, loved kids, loved other dogs. The guy could walk her anywhere without a lead and control her in any given situation.
      One morning I woke up to find the close littered with emergency services vehicles. I asked another neighbour what had happened. Turns out that over night, the dog had killed her owner, his wife and one of their two young children. Nobody could offer an explanation. The close in which we lived was peaceful and free of criminal activity, only getting somewhat rowdy on new years eve.
      Some dogs are bred to guard, some are bred to fight and kill. Through thousands of years of breeding and instinctual manipulation, these animals have it within them to kill on the turn of a die, no matter how well behaved they appear to be.
      Dogs like this should not be kept as pets because no matter how much control an owner thinks they wield over such an animal it's instinct will win out every time. These dogs should be banned. Simple as.
