I agree! I have wanted a Rav4 Prime since it was first announced. I recently tried to buy one, but the Toyota dealers told me it was a 2-year waiting list or they would sell me one someone else ordered for a 20K markup. I decided I did not want to work with dealers, so I bought a Tesla. I figure not having to work with a dealer is worth about 5K to me. Once you have gone through the Tesla purchase experience you will never want to buy a car the old way again.
And let us know how difficult or easy Tesla is to repair if you get into a fender bender or accident. There are not a lot of Tesla dealerships around to perform repairs !!
Having a 2017 Prius Prime, that I bought in 2020. I have to say watching the average miles per gallon of fuel rise from 58.4 at the time of purchase to 97.8 and climbing. I really can’t say that I miss fueling up every or every other week, where now I fuel up every other month or three, going six months between fill ups feels great!
I tried to purchase a Rav4 Prime (in the US) when the tax credit was still in effect, but they simply weren't available anywhere. The Prime was always overpriced, but the $7500 tax credit made it still worth buying. Since most buyers are entirely too willing to overpay for vehicles these days, especially electrified models, I suspect Toyota will continue to sell every Prime they can import, even without the tax credit, at least for the next 18-24 months. That is due to all the pent up demand from such limited availability. However, once that pent up demand is exhausted, Toyota will be forced to either reduce the price or move final assembly to North America in order to reactivate the tax credit. I suspect they will do the latter, since they already have plenty of manufacturing capacity in NA and retooling a facility isn't that big a deal these days. In any case, shame on Toyota for not building anywhere near enough Primes. It's almost as though they are intentionally suppressing production to keep the demand and price high. I've moved on because I got tired of waiting.

Yes that is the sad part...20k markup is totally absurd. Thanks for watching!
Let us know how the Tesla repair experience goes.

PHEV are the best,

Rav4 Prime all the way!!
PHEV is the way to go
As mentioned previously, a RAV4 Prime is impossible to purchase.
Very aerodynamic. LOL! Good luck getting REAL range.
